* BrokenBase: Episode 9, ''Nightmare Visions'', is often hailed by viewers as either an example of fantastic Game Mastering, or a perfect example of how ''not'' to GM. The latter group believes that it violates a number of core tenants of being a Game Master, including taking away control from the players, focusing on individual players for an extended period time, and giving little to no input while the GM narrates a scene the players are unable to have any influence on. Proponents of the former believe that none of those criticisms matter because there is no right way to GM; even if control is taken away from the players, the stories being told are so provocative and tied to their characters that it invests the players anyway - which is the most important aspect of a roleplaying game - and the few decisions they are given are ''incredibly'' difficult and meaningful, revealing a lot about the characters.
