* FridgeBrilliance: Homer, while boasting to his Edison poster, he ''very'' quickly notices that Edison invented the six-legged chair first, there is a chance Homer ''didn't'' think up the idea and subconsciously copied the Edison poster,
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Homer fawning over UsefulNotes/ThomasEdison as the greatest inventor of all time. In later years it became more well-known that many of his "inventions" were actually created by his European immigrant employees (most notably UsefulNotes/NikolaTesla's work on the electric lamp), his sole output in many cases being taking the credit for them, and his generally less-savory behaviors (i.e. patent-trolling in the film industry or his propaganda campaigns against alternating current) became more well-known. While it's not implausible for someone to continue to idolize Edison, it seems like the sort of thing Lisa, if nobody else, would point out.

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** Homer pitching his inventions to the family is right up there with him building the barbecue pit as one of the funniest scenes in the history of the show.
** The "Everything Is Okay" Alarm. It can't be turned off... but it does break easily.
** It would be easier to list the lines involving the makeup gun that ''aren't'' hilarious.
** Bart and Lisa walk in on Homer smoking a cigar, justifying it by saying that Thomas Edison did the same. Bart replies with "He also invented stuff." receiving a flat "Shut up." from Homer.
