And in Revengeance, the fight gets exponentially harder due to the Slimes laying aerial mines all over the place.
** Cryogen, fought right at the beginning of hardmode, can easily catch players off guard if they don't know what to expect, due to being fundamentally different from any of the vanilla hardmode bosses. His AI is extremely complicated and he is prone to sudden phase changes. While he mostly relies on BeamSpam, getting too close to him may leave you open for a sudden charge.
** Providence provides a first impression of what the endgame is like in Calamity. She is extremely tanky, deceptively fast, and shaves off enormous amounts of health with each attack, alternating between projectile spam and direct CollisionDamage. To make matters worse, she summons Profaned Guardians as she loses HP, which could be considered bosses in their own right. And the icing on the cake is that she inflicts a debuff that greatly weakens your flight, in a fight where mobility is your best chance at survival.

Since DeathOfAThousandCuts isn't an option (the Storm Weaver has 100,000 HP in normal mode), you will have to attack its tail segment, which is annoyingly difficult to hit due to the boss' fast movement speed and its blocking of all piercing shots. And once you break its armor, its second phase is even worse: while it doesn't take ScratchDamage anymore, it has 3 times the HP, moves far quicker, and shaves off [[UpToEleven even more HP with each hit.]]
** Polterghast. While its HP isn't anything special, it deals extreme damage very quickly and liberally spams beams and minions that are rather hard to avoid. Since you have to fight it in the Dungeon and it can sometimes summon itself, you will be limited to a tiny area unless you set up an arena beforehand, and even then you will have to navigate to the arena while Polterghast is chasing you. Taken to an absolute head in its final form as the Necroplasm: not only is it over twice as fast as before, now you have to contend with 3 deadly, rotating lasers along with the boss itself.

He clocks in at over a million HP (2.4 million on the hardest difficulty), takes ScratchDamage from anything that hits its body, and deals insane damage upon contact: enough that getting hit by its head in Revengeance is almost always guaranteed death (it does nearly 1500 damage!). Thought you could build a platform in the sky to deal with it like you did with Astrum Deus and Destroyer? Well, too bad it doesn't need solid blocks to move. Try and outrun it? Not only does it fire all manner of projectiles, its speed scales with yours, so it will '''always''' be faster than you. Mobility? Almost useless since just being near it warps gravity and flight. And believe it or not, it gets taken UpToEleven in Reveangence mode: not only is it even more powerful than before, it can summon a clone of itself at low health, and if you don't dispose of that clone first, it will clone itself again, [[CycleOfHurting and again, and again...]]
** Jungle Dragon Yharon, the FinalBoss, is well deserving of his title. ** Jungle Dragon Yharon, the FinalBoss, is well deserving of his title. He packs enormous health, shaves off nearly half your health bar with each attack, moves incredibly quickly for his bulk, and punctuates his attacks with gigantic fire blasts and flaming tornadoes. Not to mention that he limits your space to a small area cut off by OneHitKill firenadoes. And to make matters worse he will keep pulling out new tricks as he loses HP, from DoppelgangerSpin to TeleportSpam to his final, brutal HoldTheLine phase.
** [[spoiler:Supreme Calamitas]] takes nearly everything that made the previous bosses hard and turns them UpToEleven. She packs very high health, takes huge chunks of your health bar with each hit, dashes too fast for most players to react, and has several phases where she spams fireballs and exploding missiles ''in their hundreds'', an attack that wouldn't be out of place in a BulletHell. And she also limits your arena with instakill tornadoes like Yharon, as well as summons weaker bosses at half health. The only reason her difficulty is justified is because she's the TrueFinalBoss.
