* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: WordOfGod said this was his consensus in the beginning. While he ''did'' plan to make it a LongRunner, he also planned it [[WhatIf several endings early in the series in case it got discontinued]] (the shortest of is Volume ''3''). 10 years later and it's still running with nearly 40 volumes.

"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot: One would think that after watching Yurika fly in through their window, Koutarou and Sanae would have no doubts that she is the magic girl she proclaims to be. Instead they call her a cosplayer and refuse to believe her claims about the room having evil energy, despite it being ''haunted.'' And they didn't doubt that Kiriha is from a race of subterraneans bent of world conquest and that Theiamillis is an alien princess.
** To play DevilsAdvocate, crashing through a window doesn't exactly say "out of the ordinary" as say, coming out of a glowing portal that suddenly shows up on the side of your wall. The other issue she has is that she's never seen participating in the fights directly. All of her spellcasting is always somewhere nearby, but not in the presence of the others. As far as the other characters know, they defeat the bad guy of the week on their own without Yurika's help. The exception is during her fight against Maki, but the latter erases their memories of the fight, so they no longer remember any of it, though Satomi at least stops his disbelief so much after realizing how much help she's been giving the others, especially towards Harumi.
** [[spoiler:In later volumes, it is stated that [[DarkAndTroubledPast Koutarou]] [[SelectiveObliviousness deliberately ignores the fact that Yurika is a magical girl]], in fear that the extraordinary people will leave him when they have completed their purpose.]]

* GrowingTheBeard: The first 7 volumes/first season of the anime starts off as the typical harem genre, including giving each girl a spotlight and fanservice. Later volumes are more plot-focused and the fanservice rarely happen.

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMoment:
** Satomi gets one simply for being such a ChickMagnet that even ''the Goddess of the setting'' has the hots for him. On that note, the fact that he ends up with her.
** Also in a meta-sense, ''the series itself''. According to an afterword, the author admits the series had a chance to fail, so Takehaya made precautions in making some volumes. Notably, one of them was ending it in Volume ''3''. A decade later and the series is still running with more than '''30''' volumes.
