* SpoiledBrat: The British Davenport and Smith start off as utterly insufferable, unthankful jerks. They are shot down and helpless in enemy territory, then encounter armed ''enemy'' soldiers from whom they can expect nothing except a bullet. Said armed enemies rather politely don't shoot them. They even allow them entry to their shelter, saving them from freezing to death. The British pilots don't thank them for it, but proceed to immediately whine and complain about... the choice of beds. They're demoted to prisoners of war as a result only. Schopis goes way beyond just politeness and laws of war and is just plain kind to them, offering equal shares of food, striking up friendly conversations and not once punishing them. And what do the British do? As if to invite getting shot in the face, the British choose to whine about the most petty things: the use of a lighter, the food, the lack of ''toilet paper in the middle of nowhere during a snow storm''. It's so cringey that the viewer may actually ''want'' the Germans to behave more Nazi-like and [[WhyDontYaJustShootHim just shoot them already]].

* TheWoobie: Schwartz. Survived a plane crash, stuck in the remote wilderness, and injured badly. His fellow soldiers and eventually even the British soldiers (who he feared would kill and eat him) try to take care of him.
