On Pietro's side, Roby wanted to be his friend and helped him get on the basketball team, however despite knowing that he is clearly in love with Isabel, Pietro never bothered to know how Roby felt when he started a relationship with her. On Isabel's side, she agreed to go out with Roby not because she truly loved him but to try to overcome her feelings for Pietro, she constantly lied to Roby to not spend time with him and then coldly dumps him for Pietro. The worst thing is that when Roby is understandably angry with them for this, the show portrays Pietro and Isabel as the protagonists we should root for and Roby as an obstacle they need to overcome.
