* {{Anvilicious}}: The morals aren't explicitly heavy-handed, but every episode tries to teach the audience some kind of lesson (usually related to friendship or family values). Enough so that listing every lesson taught required [[Aesop/BigCityGreens its own page]].

* SoOkayItsAverage: ''Big City Greens'' has a decent-sized fandom and is considered an underrated show by many but there are those who see the series as decent but still the weakest of Disney Channel's [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls five]] [[WesternAnimation/Ducktales2017 main]] [[WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}} ser]][[WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse ies]]. This can probably be attributed to its more [[StrictlyFormula formulaic and episodic]] structure compared to Disney's other shows, as well as its [[ComedyGhetto larger focus on comedy]].

** The ending theme sung by Cricket's VA. Like the title music, it manages to capture that nostalgic childhood feel.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Cricket falls under this on occasion. While whether we're ''supposed'' to like him is debatable, the writers have made it very clear that Cricket is the main character of the series and that we're supposed to root for him. However, given how loud, obnoxious and [[BrattyHalfPint bratty]] he could be at times, it can be difficult to truly feel sorry for him whenever he gets screwed over. A good example would be in the ChristmasEpisode, where, despite the fact that he's been hit with the JerkassBall, we're still supposed to sympathize and root for him.

While it's true that ''[=TOH=]'' got ScrewedByTheNetwork, it was for reasons completely unrelated to ''[=BCG=]''. * RonTheDeathEater: A minor case with Cricket. While he's not a very perfect character and can be a bit of an annoying BrattyHalfPint at times, he means well and is, for the most part, a CheerfulChild who means well and is very curious about the world around him. His detractors, on the other hand, often tend to ignore his redeeming qualities and ramp up his BrattyHalfPint tendencies by painting him as a [[HairTriggerTemper bad-tempered]] SpoiledBrat who throws fits whenever he doesn't get what he wants, acting like an AnnoyingYoungerSibling towards Tilly, treating his parents and grandma like crap, etc, etc.

* FandomRivalry: A pretty intense although largely one-sided example with ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'', due to fans of the latter show developing a growing bitterness over ''[=BCG=]'' becoming AdoredByTheNetwork. The rivalry grew tenfold when ''[=TOH=]'' got cancelled after three seasons (with the third season in particular being cut down from the show's usual 10-20 episode format to just three 44-minute specials), leading many to go as far as to [[{{Misblamed}} unfairly accuse]] ''[=BCG=]'' of being the sole reason for ''[=TOH=]'''s cancellation. There's a similar one-sided rivalry with ''WesternAnimation/{{Amphibia}}'', but it's nowhere near as intense.

* DiagnosedByTheAudience: In "Quiet Please", Cricket's short attention span, as well as his difficulties at staying quiet, were likely considered hints of ADHD.
