* ExtremelyShortIntroSequence: The intro is merely a two-second clip of a guitar riff while Reachy tosses the rice grain over the title card to Nori. The second "season" makes it a bit longer, being a series of musical notes as Nori, Pawn and Reachy appear.

* MinimalistCast: Officially the smallest s to date with only one host and one contestant, putting the previous record holders of WebAnimation/BattleShowCoolYeah and Earthquake to shame.

* MinimalistCast: Officially the smallest s to date with only one host and one contestant, putting the previous record holders of WebAnimation/BattleShowCoolYeah and Earthquake to shame. The second "season" adds Pawn.
* SliceOfLife: While ostensibly about the eponymous battle for rice, the low cast means no challenges are held. The second episode is mostly about Nori and Reachy's chess game and Pawn's sudden appearance allowing for Reachy to hold a voting for the winner of the second "season."
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: Averted. Reachy completely fails to realize how stalemates work, which Nori has to explain to them. When they undo their move, they then put their queen right next to Nori's king, allowing them to take the queen and enter another stalemate because neither's king can get near the other. Upon playing another game, Reachy makes a move very early on that immediately checks them.

Nori (Satomi) was walking down the sidewalk when they accidentally trip over a hand. The hand in question turns out to be a sentient one named Reachy (Pokey) and a GameShowHost looking for potential contestants which Nori eagerly participates. Since they are the only contestant, Nori automatically wins and receives the grand prize of.... a single grain of rice like the title suggests.

Understandably, Nori is extremely disappointed and complains about the prize but Reachy explains the catch, they can keep the grain or double it every time they win an episode. Liking those odds, Nori decides to continue and thus begins the Battle For Rice.

Here is the playlist and intro.

!!Contains the following tropes:
* ADogNamedDog: A dried seaweed sheet named Nori to be exact.
* ALizardnamedLiz: Reachy is named after how hands (Their species) are able to reach things with the common "-y" suffix.
* AnimateInanimateObject: As one of many ObjectShows to date, the cast is all anthropomorphic objects and are ADogNamedDog named ALizardNamedLiz accordingly.
* TheBlank: Reachy is only just a hand with no facial features and can only express by moving their fingers. They can still somehow talk without a mouth though.
* ExtremelyShortIntroSequence: The intro is merely a two-second clip of a guitar riff while Reachy tosses the rice grain over the title card to Nori.
* FingerMuzzle: Reachy does this to shush and calm down a panicking Nori when they first met.
* HelpingHands: Reachy is a sentient hand who is both an affable and reasonable host to Nori.
* MinimalistCast: Officially the smallest s to date with only one host and one contestant, putting the previous record holders of WebAnimation/BattleShowCoolYeah and Earthquake to shame.
