The main protagonist is probably the only normal one, but even then he is not exactly KnightInShiningArmor.

* XMeetsY: [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] meets [[Anime/Gintama Gintoki]] with added dose of [[LightNovel/Konosuba Kazuma]].

Arguably THE main character of this series. He can summon weapons (that look etheral).

* AbusiveParents: To be more accurate, abusive aunt. Still, she left emotional scars on him that will haunt Joseph forever.
* ActionHero: He uses his summoned weapons to fight his enemies.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Victim of this in both human community and miracle community.
* AnAxeToGrind: His favorite weapons are twin small axes.
* AntiHero: Joseph Stark will do anything for justice, even though he has lines he won't cross.
* AntiVillain: But, this might actually make him an anti villain, since he does commit some heinous acts for justice.
* AmbiguousDisorder: There are many things that plague Joseph's mind, including trust issues, self-hatred seen in no other person, constant hallucinations and nightmares, many cases of cognitive dissonance (especially during school days), his non-interaction with people (except for his friends and family), having some traits of black-and-white mentality.
* TheAtoner: One of his motivation to fight for justice.

* BiTheWay: He is bisexual, and in fact shows attraction towards David Mercer and Elizabeth Engel.

* ByronicHero: Joseph Stark is very much this, though he doesn't have arrogance and constantly doubts about whether he's doing the right thing. Also, most view him as a madman, not a misunderstood hero.
* ChaoticGood: Joseph dislikes authority. Besides that, he finds himself in conflict with authority figures more often than he could count. However, he is not a rebel for rebellion's sake, so he is more in a line between this trope and NeutralGood. [[note: To be honest, it is really hard for me to pin down Joseph's alignment, so I'll just leave it like that for now.]]

* CombatPragmatist: Joseph isn't the strongest among miracles, but he is considered as ''one of the most dangerous'' because of this trope.

Second, he fights rebels as much as he fights the authority figures (or those who follow them). And finally, it is acknowledged that those in charge can be reasonable. I will specifically try hard to destroy this trope in my work.
* CosmicPlaything: His luck is abysmal, even compared to other unlucky individuals. And I can confirm that his sole reason of existence is suffering.
* TheCynic: He doesn't exactly have an optimistic worldview.

* GuysAreSlobs: Inverted. He is one of the characters who is deeply worried about hygiene and tidiness (partly because of his background, partly because he has a cook mindset).
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Subverted, since Joseph is cynical and so anti-heroic that he can be considered as a villain. But, he is still a good guy in heart.
* TheMentallyDisturbed: Joseph's mind is always on a verge of breaking down. [[spoiler: Especially in ''Vale Trilogy'']]
* ParentalAbandonment: His parents were murdered. And that's the only thing Joseph remembers about them due to the trauma. [[spoiler: And the fact their murderer was Sarah, his aunt.]]
* RealMenCook: He is essentially a TeamChef. Justified, due to Sarah's alcoholism, he was left to his own devices and was forced cook himself. Now, he is considered as SupremeChef and ChefOfIron, along with [[FeminineWomenCanCook Mary Engel.]]
* [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan Single Man Seeks Good Woman/Man]]: Joseph is a deconstruction of this trope, since he loves David and Elizabeth because they can give him love and comfort, which he desperately craves to not go insane.
* SecretlySelfish: Although Joseph does indeed fight for the greater good because he wants to help victims of the conflict (and make up for his "mistakes" in the past), he wants to become a hero so that he can be loved by many and get revenge on people like his aunt ("villains"). At first, he struggles with it (due to being NotSoDifferent with one of his enemies), but eventually he comes to term with it and accepts it. Joseph then overcomes this flaw... [[spoiler: but not in a good way.]]
* SweetTooth: Joseph loves chocolate, to be more precise, averting the whole RealMenHateSugar trope.

* CloudCuckoolander: Joel is... not the most straightforward of the cast.
* DishingOutDirt: His power. He either uses it to solidify things, throw sand and dirt at his enemies and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking provide playground for insects.]]

* BewareTheSillyOnes: They are fun-loving race who love their booze and smiling above all else (except for their beloved Sun), bu Light Moonkin has a specific goal to conquer Althrenia and convert everyone to their philosophy.

* ScaryDogmaticAliens: Religious/Philosophical Fundamentalist one. However, it is not really a straight example, as they are not "single-minded" in their goal of conquering solar system.
