** The game's coding for equipment pieces that give boosts to HP and MP works on a two-byte system that means when equipping something that gives +12.5% HP/MP, and another item that gives +25% of the same stat, they cancel each other out and the wearer gets the +50% boost instead. Since this was unavoidable without entirely recoding how that mechanic works, the creator made it a part of strategy that these different equipment pieces can be combined for amplified effect.

** For the [=ProtoTroop=] boss, one [=LPer=] was able to scramble its AI by changing its elemental weaknesses with the Debilitator, as the [=ProtoTroop=] determines its attack patterns by its elemental weakness. While this usage of the Debilitator was unintended[[note]]in the original game, no boss that uses Wall Change can be fought during a time where the Debilitator is usable[[/note]], the creator decided it was fun and made sense in-story, so it was kept in. Another player killed it by spamming Espers against it before it got a chance to Wall Change and nullify their elemental attacks. The creator considered nerfing this but again decided it was perfectly fitting in-story that Sombra's latest creation is easily crushed by the power of the Espers (this was then nullified in 2.0 when the [=ProtoTroop=] was set to Wall Change at the start of the fight).

** Due to how the game handles the flags for equipment that gives +12.5%, +25%, and +50% boosts to HP and MP, equipping an equipment piece with +12.5% and another with +25% causes them to cancel out and give a +50% boost. ** During planning for the 2.0, there was serious consideration to switching Cadance's role with Sunset Shimmer, or Shining Armor with Flash Sentry. Both were dropped due to WordOfGod feeling the impact from such switches would be more negative than positive.[[note]]Either replacement would have slanted the cast heavily to unicorn playable characters, Sunset wouldn't have allowed for the FireIceLightning trio that Cadance forms with Twilight and Celestia, and it would have meant the opera subplot falls apart without Cadance. For Shining Armor, the concern was more about story impact, namely that Locke's skills and personally doesn't fit Shining Armor, especially with regards to not trusting Cadance/Celes.[[/note]]

Some minor level changes were done to the introductory sequences and the South Figaro Ponyville basement, due to technical shortcomings involving the game's palette system conflicting with the sprites for the Imperial Soldiers.[[note]]The game overwrites Palette 6 for character in various circumstances, and a result of its special designation for this is that characters that use Palette 6 don't show up properly in the save menu. Since the Imperial recruits use Palette 6, the save point is removed from Neighshe's mines so that Snips and Snails can't be seen in the menu, and the save point in South Ponyville was moved to after the secret door so it can only be entered once Flash is out of his soldier disguise.[[/note]]
