** "Let Me Give The World To You" from Machina II was originally written for this album, with additional input from Music/RickRubin. Virgin Records liked the track and demanded it to be the lead single, which Corgan didn't want as the song didn't fit the album's sound; so in its place "Perfect" and "Ava Adore" were released as singles and World was reworked without Rubin. The original version went unreleased until 2014 when rights issues regarding the song were cleared and the album was reissued.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The song "Tear" was originally written for the Creator/DavidLynch film Film/LostHighway, but Lynch rejected the track. At the last minute, Corgan reworked a beat from an unreleased Shaquille O'Neal song and submitted the song, "Eye.", which was used in the film.

* AcclaimedFlop: Got great reviews, including some of the best of the bands career at the time; but sold only a fraction of what prior albums did.

* CreatorKiller: Despite the critical acclaim, the band would only be around for two more albums before quitting. And even though the band reformed in 2005, they never got the same amount of critical and commercial acclaim as they previously
did.
