# VideoGame.JimmyAndThePulsatingMass: SickeninglySweethearts: Andrew and Helga are very much in love and call each other sappy pet names all the time. Even their battle stats are built to match: Andrew is the Black Mage to Helga's WhiteMage, and both will always have the same amount of max HP and MP provided they're at the same level.
# RagtagBunchOfMisfits.Literature: The main character of KonoSuba used to be a shut-in with no useful skills, talents or prospects in the real world. When he turned into an MMO world style adventurer, he retained most of his general uselessness — not only does he start at level 1, but his stats are below-average and his class is basic and underpowered. Out of the party that forms around him, however (to his chagrin), he is easily the most competent. The arch priest goddess that was dragged with him to the MMO world is a certified idiot who retains none of her divine powers, but all of her bluster. The arch wizard is a little girl who knows a vastly powerful form of explosion magic, a single use of which leaves her incapacitated for several minutes, and nothing else. And the sword-wielding female crusader wears heavy armor and has enormous strength and stamina, allowing her to take inhuman amounts of punishment in battle (which she enjoys very much), but cannot actually hit a target herself.

# ThatOneLevel.FireEmblem: Ephraim's Chapter 11, Phantom Ship. If you didn't grind in the Tower of Valni, is a nightmare, especially on Hard Mode. You have to fight your way through a ship full of enemies to get to L'Arachel before she's stupidly killed because she's a noncombatant at this point, while her bodyguard Dozla is running off attempting (and mostly failing) to hit enemies with his huge Battle Axe. You could send your fliers to rescue her, but the seas around you are swarming with flying enemies, including flying spell-casters that can nuke the otherwise hardy flier Cormag. And at this point, there is nobody in your army big enough to rescue Dozla. Adding to this is the small space in which to move and no space to hide, the boss that is way harder than any monster faced up to that point and averts the usual Stationary Boss by being a flier who will kill your weaker units if it can, and on top of all this we have Fog of War, meaning you can't see most of those flying enemies until it's too late.

Etoile Ray/Pleiades Ray are the only ones that do damage; White Heal/Innocent Heal and Brilliant Halo restore HP immediately, while Djibril Guard and Holy Bloom grant HP Recovery.
# Characters.DoYouLoveYourMomAndHerTwoHitMultiTargetAttacks: She's a healer with no elemental attack spells.
BloodSword: The only player character capable of healing the party at any non-combat decision point. Comes at the risk of losing their own Endurance points in the process.
# VideoGame.RiseAndFallCivilizationsAtWar: The only civilization in this game that can produce Healers is Egypt. The Healers are completely defenseless, and they are quite Squishy. Their main uses are to use heal injured allied units to full health (provided that the Healers have enough energy to mend the wounds), and resurrect fallen comrades (if the Herbalist Advisor has been researched). Strategically, the Healers should be targeted first, as they can easily keep an entire Egyptian army effectively immortal as long as they are still healing.
# Characters.EternalTwilight: He's a White Magi, who specializes in healing. Any excess healing becomes a barrier to soak up a certain amount Onmyoji2016Protagonists: Definitely not an attack-oriented type, having only one active offensive skill out of damage for the target.

# Characters.NewXMenAcademyX: The spells she has learned thus far are utility or non-lethal. # HighTierScrappy.LeagueOfLegends: Enchanters were seen as an underrated gamechanger in recent years, in the metagame where Engage Support reign superior, many had figured out that they were less restrictive than Engage Supports because they
can teleport, put people to sleep, roam elsewhere and seal rifts to hell.
# Recap.CodexEquusCodexQuests: Before he

Aldhika had been notified AD Carry botlaner all the times. Champions like Janna and Soraka were often derided because of Sherlock's desire what they can do they did it a little too well and can quickly outheal all the damage dealt with no sweat, while champions like Bard and Rakan find healthy engagement with their absurdly powerful roaming power that they possess. Of course that they're offset by subpar durability and even weaker damage curve, which make them easy target for the enemy team, but you already knew that, and crafty players have already knew how to circumvent their weakness.
# Characters.FateHaremAntics: While she's still capable of attacking with spells, she's not as proficient as
her older half-sister Daphné, self is with offensive spells, instead being a lot better at being a healer.
# Characters.TheScholomance: CombatMedic: Being the daughter of a world-famous WhiteMage has given El the chance to learn some powerful healing magic, though her affinity favors “combat” so heavily that she can’t use it nearly as well.
# NominalHero.VideoGames: Thracia 776 has Lifis, a pirate leader
and wanted Starter Villain who essentially gets roped into the story by way of having been captured by the heroes, and the on-the-run heroes not having a good way to permanently imprison him. Quite a few times in the story, he remarks that he's planning to make sure he was genuinely qualified a run for it, but only if he can manage to sleep with the position. This makes him local WhiteMage first.
# Characters.Koudelka: ChivalrousPervert: He initially approaches Koudelka in this manner, but since they are trekking through a murder dungeon and Koudelka is both

# Characters.Castlevania2017Protagonists: BlackMage: She is this in function and the fact that she uses offensive magic. She's a magician of the Speakers, and versed in manipulating the elements. From a story standpoint, she's a WhiteMage as the powers she evokes come from nature and those In-Universe who are truly witches and black mages explicitly draw their powers from hell.
# TabletopGame.DrunkQuest: CommonCharacterClasses: The game has 8, each visually themed on a form of alcohol:The Brewmaster, beer. The Cleric, wine. The Paladin, mead. The Ranger, Jagermeister. The Thief, whiskey. The Trick Shot, tequila. The Warrior, vodka. The Wizard whose theme is Martinis. * The 90 Proof Seas expansion adds four more: The Pirate, rum. The Sea Queen, who is not themed. The Siren, wheat beer. The Witch Doctor, absinthe.
# Characters.FinalFantasyBraveExviusGlobalOriginalsAndPrecursors: CrutchCharacter: He's neck-and-neck with Lenna and Maria for the best WhiteMage at three-star power, getting solid heals early and being able to take a hit better than most other white mages. Once you get to four-star power, Lenna and Maria start to surpass him in well-roundedness, Refia is slowly building into competence, and his heals start to slack off. By five-star levels of power, Lenna and Maria are much more reliable, Refia starts coming into her own (and still has one more awakening to go), and Rem and Y'shtola outshine him from the get-go. His Trust Master Reward (a robe that grants auto-refresh) is still remarkably useful, however. Averted by Doctor Aiden, who upon release and for several months after topped the charts as best healer in the game.
# VideoGame.RadiantArc: Carrie is a standard healing mage, but with a few twists. Her healing spells buff the target(s) magic defense and she can draw aggro specifically from magic attacks.
# Characters.XenobladeChroniclesXTeamElma: RedMage: Both by default as a Blast Fencer and due to having the most diverse skillset, excluding Rook. Doug can fill virtually any role the player needs - from team medic, to all-out frontline assault, or ranged support by using buffs and debuffs.
# TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild.TropesNToT: OnlyTheChosenMayPilot: This is implied to be the case with the Divine Beasts. They're four gigantic animal-shaped mechas that were built in ancient times as a defense against Ganon, with representatives of each major race—Zora, Goron, Rito, and Gerudo—known as "Champions" chosen to pilot them. When the Divine Beasts are unearthed again, it's remarked that certain members of those races felt an inexplicable pull toward them: for example, Mipha, the Zora Princess and a mild-mannered WhiteMage, became vibrantly animated and even fiery as soon as she saw Vah Ruta, the Divine Beast of her people. It's downplayed in that the chosen Champions needed to be taught to use the Beasts, but their general connection to them leans toward this trope.
# Fanfic.LeastNoticeableAndLittleFlappy: HerosFirstRescue: When Claire sees Little Flappy being attacked in midairby a big wyrm-like creature of Shadow, she first drives off the attacker with her love beam, then teleports over to the fallen flappy thing, grabs him with her multiple tongues and carries him back to Granny Pie to receive medical treatment. As the title of the story suggests, this deed is significant to Claire's future.
# Characters.TalesOfTheAbyss: She can cast healing magic based on Yulia's holy fonic hymns and is also the strongest healer of the team.
# Characters.FinalFantasyXIVDisciplesOfWar: Esteem wields a Conjurer's staff and provides you with healing support during the various instanced battles during the job quests. A few throwaway lines from Sidurgu and Rielle imply that the original Fray was a Conjurer at some point in the past prior to becoming a Dark Knight, and that he taught Rielle most of what she knows about Conjury. Another line implies he was a more powerful Conjurer than a Dark Knight, and may have won his trial by combat had he been allowed his staff rather than his sword. Humorously, it dovetails with how the original Dark Knight/Magic Knight worked in the Famicom version of Final Fantasy III, where that job could use White Magic, even if only to L3.

# Characters.Dota2Roles: Save heroes often prioritize the well-being of their carry, and often have abilities capable of throwing down clutch heals, dispels, or other defensive benefits. Their items of choice often also revolve around protecting allies.
# Characters.FinalFantasyBraveExviusSwornEight: TheRedMage: As a Vision, she plays this way, capable of both high-level healing and attack magic. Her Trust Master Reward also benefits both white magic and black magic users, and would be at its most effective for a red mage Dual Wielding a staff (for white magic) and a rod (for black magic). Downplayed in her Season 2 form - while she still has some offensive water-element abilities, she's primarily a WhiteMage.

# YMMV.AFKArena: When Walker was introduced, the fandom almost immediately came to the consensus that he was the single worst character in the game, even moreso than long-standing bottom-tier characters Thane and Ulmus (listed above). He's a gunslinger designed to be a Fragile Speedster, but despite his using a shotgun, and being given raw stats that seem to expect that, he has no ranged attacks; he can only shoot point blank. He might as well not even be using one for all the good it does him. These close-range attacks do almost no damage, either — even pure healers like Numisu and Rowan routinely hit harder than him.
# Characters.FinalFantasyIII: In the DS version, each of the four heroes has a particular symbol or patterning in their shown Freelancer/normal clothing that pops up in many of their job outfits. # ThatOneLevel.FinalFantasy: Porom's Challenge Dungeon. You're on a strict time limit. You have to satisfy the arbitrary desires of random NPCs, which include wasting Porom's MP on cure spells, giving away expensive armor, fighting powerful monsters, and so forth. You're only given two characters that can surpass level 20, one of which is Porom herself, who is a WhiteMage and can't really fight. Your party makeup and time limit would imply that you should run from battles, but then you won't have the money to buy much of that armor you have to give the greedy NPCs, both because you can't get money if you run away and also because you randomly lose some money in equal amount to 25% of the amount you would've gotten for winning the battle. And even if you satisfy the request of every single NPC on the map and make it to the final treasure in time, you're still not guaranteed to get anything worthwhile for it.
# VideoGame.Disgaea5AllianceOfVengeance: First, you have your WhiteMage clerics and clergy, aka your basic healing units. Apart from healing they also have unique buffs that raise multiple stats at once.
# BoringButPractical.VideoGames: If you are at a considerably high level with good equipment (which isn't that hard to get) and proper classes, normal attacks are simply stronger than the flashy Psynergy. Especially with high-end weapons like the Sol Blade or Excalibur, which have the potential to "unleash" even stronger attacks. This tends to result in caster-type characters getting permanently benched in favor of less spectacular but more reliable warrior-type characters (and one dedicated healer).
# VideoGame.CrystalWarriors: On the other hand, the AI is pretty aggressive when it comes to its healers. It'll frequently send the squishy Nadar and Bane to directly attack your army, when their healing spells work from a long distance away.
# WMG.DiabloIV: Think like a sorcerer mixed with a WhiteMage or a Crusader / Paladin focused more on using holy magic.
# Characters.AFKArena: Two of Nemora's abilities are heals, one is a passive that boosts her healing output, and the only thing she has resembling an offensive ability is the ability to charm enemies.

# Characters.DissidiaFinalFantasyOperaOmniaVIIToIX: InformedAbility: Eiko is a powerful Summoner in her home game and is referred to as such in this game, but her attacks are all from her WhiteMage moveset, she has no ability to summon in this game. Her EX ability later lets her summon Madeen, and her LD ability has her summon Phoenix.
# Characters.EldenRingTheTarnished: The Prophet is the WhiteMage, though possesses decent strength and dexterity. They start with an offensive incantation and a support one. However, they have lighter starting armor compared to other classes, making them more susceptible to damage, and their low endurance makes it difficult to equip stronger armor without sacrificing maneuverability.
# VideoGame.PhantomBrave: The Healer, Owl Sage, Whisp and Putty Shaman classes.
# OCStandIn.VideoGames: As alluded to in the canon examples on the main page, the Light Warriors from the original Final Fantasy get this due to basically being blank slate player avatars rather than true characters. Popular Fanon includes things like WhiteMage being a woman, Black Mage being non-human (which actually became canon in Final Fantasy IX), Fighter being an idiot, and much more. Of particular note is 8-Bit Theater, which uses many of these fan-made personalities, invents some of its own, and popularized them all so much that a lot of younger fans mistakenly assume that is really what the Light Warriors are canonically like.
# UnbuiltTrope.AnimeAndManga: The series is also credited for popularizing (and not just in Isekai, but in non-Isekai fantasy as well) the hero getting a power that looks lame at first (and it may play a role in the aforementioned betrayal), but upon closer inspection turns out to have the potential to be devastating. Except Naofumi's Cardinal Shield never fit such a mold. Sure, its potential for offense was nonexistent (bar a couple corrupting Dangerous Forbidden Techniques) but it made Naofumi into an excellent tank, healer and buffer from the very beginning, however such power was useless on its own and made Naofumi extremely dependant on others to defeat his enemies. Even if Naofumi does get increasingly more powerful as the series progressed, this never extends to his offensive ability; he never outgrows the role of Stone Wall WhiteMage and always depends on Raphtalia and other companions to deal some actual damage.

her abilities around support and so forth.
# VideoGame.Disgaea5AllianceOfVengeance: First, you have your WhiteMage clerics and clergy, aka your basic

This tends to result in caster-type characters getting permanently benched in favor of less spectacular but more reliable warrior-type characters (and one dedicated healer).

Even if two witches marry and have children together, those children aren't guaranteed to be witches. Several witches are seen in the series, and all have their own unique power sets and visualizations for their magic:Marisa's magic is based around healing and repairing things, and is visualized as light blue geometric patterns based around circles. Flora Conradine's magic is based around the manipulation of plants and biological material, and is visualized as glowing green vines. Charlene's magic is mostly focused around illusions, and when it's not manifesting as a particular image, it is visualized as pink smoke.
# VideoGame.MyHeroesSEA: FantasyCharacterClasses: The 5 classes currently in gamenote Warrior, Ranger, Priest, Mage, and Ninja have similar traits to typical RPG classes, where Warrior is Fighter, Ranger is archer, Priest is white mage, Mage as Black Mage, and Ninja is... ninja.
# Characters.FireEmblemFatesSecondGeneration: A mounted healer. Can become a Combat Medic (as a Butler) or a mounted Red Mage (as a Strategist).

# Characters.DissidiaFinalFantasyOperaOmniaVIIToIX: InformedAbility: Eiko is a HunterTheReckoning: TooAwesomeToUse: In game-mechanical terms Defenders tend to advance more slowly in their powers than other Hunters because their Properly Paranoid attitude pushes them to sit on their accumulated Conviction points rather than spending them on Virtue advancement — i.e. they'd rather hoard possible uses of powers they already have just in case rather than take the risk of expending those uses to gain more powerful Summoner abilities. This is both directly suggested as a way to differentiate your character in her home the Defender Creedbook and something pushed on you by how the game and is referred to as such works — it's the party healer who has the toughest cost/benefit analysis trading in mana for XP.
# ChrysalisRinoZ.TropesGToO: To a certain extent

Still, Mendant is unimpressed with how blasé Anthony is about being blown up and sliced apart to the point where what's left of him has no ability to summon in this game. Her EX ability later lets her summon Madeen, be carried into the hospital. Anthony: Some sort of laser thing. Absolute rubbish. Anyway, spot of healing, I'll be fine. Hit me up Mendant and her LD ability has her summon Phoenix.

# Characters.EldenRingTheTarnished: The Prophet is the WhiteMage, though possesses decent strength and dexterity. They start with an offensive incantation and a support one.

# Characters.FinalFantasyXIVTheFirst: What her class is.
# AxCrazy.Webcomics: Black Mage. He's kinda the anti-WhiteMage. He views everyone around him as a target, defaults to murder as a means of social interaction and has been known to hurl himself long distances by setting off a Fantastic Nuke inches from his own face - not as a means of transport, just because he's that eager to kill. At one point we learn that he prefers to urinate on dying people (although an anthill will do, in a pinch) because it just feels like he's wasting his time if someone isn't being hurt. Berserker is usually a perfectly sane, polite, downright classy fellow. Then he goes berserk. Kary, the Fiend of Fire, is so willing to follow whatever sadistic whim pops into her head that she ends up wiping out most of her own minions before the Light Warriors even get there.
# GoodBadBugs.FinalFantasy: In the PSP remake, with the glitch described here, one can turn low-level equips into top-tier equipment, as well as equipping items on classes that shouldn't be able to use them, such as the Barbarian Sword, the strongest weapon in the game equipped on the WhiteMage.
# Characters.Evolution: Linear fits neatly into this. She can use magic to heal or buff the party and her ocarina to cause different effects with the enemies. On the other hand, she doesn't have too many attacks that harm the opponents and you lose her by the final dungeon in both games.
# Characters.DungeonsAndDoodlesTalesFromTheTables: She knows how to cast Cure Wounds as well as other spells learned by Clerics within the Life domain.
# VideoGame.PhantasyStarII: HealerSignsOnEarly: Nei joins Rolf first, and she immediately knows Res while he has to learn it at a later level, but even then, Nei will mostly be attacking in battle. The game's actual dedicated WhiteMage, Amy, eventually joins in the third town.
# Characters.Overlord2012Kingdoms: He has at least one level in the "bishop" class, a type of cleric.
# Characters.AVeryLongRopeToTheTopOfTheSky: Can be equally potent in healing and offensive magic.
# VideoGame.RadiantHistoria: Marco dresses like a soldier and wields swords but learns healing magic, buffs, and debuffs.
# VideoGame.HeroesOfTheStorm: "Warrior" included both front-line Stone Walls and higher-damaging Mighty Glaciers who were better suited for PvE. "Assassin" incorporated melee-range Fragile Speedsters, shooty Glass Cannons and magic-wielding Squishy Wizards. "Support" had both the WhiteMages and the more utility-based Red Mages. "Specialist" was "And the Rest," ranging from relatively normal siegers (Nazeebo, Zagara) to three-characters-in-one Heroes (The Lost Vikings) to the most unique character in the MOBA genre (Abathur).
# Literature.SaintessSummonsSkeletons: The [Saint] class comes with a very large mana pool, but not much combat ability. It can summon powerful heroes, but with no control over what those heroes do, and indeed many heroes will resent being abruptly and painfully yanked out of their own worlds. There's a class skill that inflicts random status effects, and one to help draw ritual circles, but primarily the class is focused on healing and buffing the heroes. (Which may be why a group of people, upon seeing Sofia without an attendant hero, surrounded her in an alley and tried Mugging the Monster, only to discover that a [Saintomancer] is rather different.)
# PlayingWith.DeadAllAlong: Alice's friend, Carol the WhiteMage, summons her spirit and brings it with her to help her do various things.
# MythologyGag.SuperSmashBrosUltimateSpirits: Aerith is a Zelda or, if her costume is downloaded, a Mii Swordfighter in said costume. The stage is the Fountain of Dreams, reflecting the flooded City of the Ancients where she dies at Sephiroth's hands. Cloud is there to protect her from you, and they're both healed after a little while, befitting Aerith's prowess as a WhiteMage. The Aerith fighter favors side specials. As Zelda, this is Din's Fire, which is similar to Fire magic. As for why Zelda is the normal stand-in? She's stood in for Aerith several times already!
# Characters.SouthParkTheFracturedButWhole: Irony: She is a satanist and wields satanic magic, but she wears a crucifix. Of course, in South Park, God and Satan get along. Despite being a satanist clad in black, she's the game's closest equivalent to a WhiteMage.
# Creator.NoriakiSugiyama: Abe no Seimeinote Playing Against Type big time as a calm, wise, kind and authoritative man and his evil Literal Split Personality Kuro Seimei in Onmyōji (2016)
# Characters.MonsterOfTheWeek: "Lay On Hands" lets them magically heal others.
# Characters.EquestriaAcrossTheMultiverseLightingTheDarkness: Unlike most of the world's inhabitants, she knows of the past before they forgot their goddess and their magic, and thus is capable of invoking deities to make various holy objects and spells that can harm Yomi and his forces. A favorite of hers is holy water.
# Pantheon.FormsOfMedia: Vivi greeted Fighter with a degree of warmth and despite disliking how stupid he was, the original Fighter of the actual Warriors of Light came around to him. Every other Final Fantasy hero, especially said actual Warriors of Light, sees Fighter's comrades as a disgrace to their title. Aerith holds a personal disgust for Black Mage because along with his immense evil, he gives a bad name to black mages like Vivi and has a creepy crush on another WhiteMage. Cosmos has blacklisted all but Fighter for meetings, and it's not like Lord Chaos wants them either since he planned to destroy their world in a cake-pocalypse, including Black Mage. The latter does get along with a couple Final Fantasy villains; Emperor Mateus and Kefka. You can guess why. But at the same time he's all too willing to stab them in the back... and that's no metaphor.
# Characters.DamnItAzamirTheMovie: The cleric of the team
# RenamedTropes.QToZ: WhiteMagicianGirl: healing. This led to serious overlap with such tropes as Healing Hands, The Medic, and WhiteMage. The rename clarified that it's a character trope and that it doesn't strictly require a staff. The new name also matches the trope's Black Mage counterpart, Black Magician Girl.
# MeaningfulName.VideoGames: Holly Whyte's name is a pun on the words "holy white", fitting her status as holder of the WhiteMage asterisk.
# Fanfic.InMyTimeOfTroubles: Averted by Karguk's Shaman master, Phargk. Phargk was born with a gift for healing. As that is not a respectable orc ability, he figured out how to twist that into being very good at torture.
# Characters.FinalFantasyRecurringJobs: Trope Namer, and also the Trope Codifier for healers as squishy wizards. Ironically, the first game's version had a medium HP pool, often ending the game with around 200 HP more than a Red or Black Mage, though they still had poor armor options.
# VideoGame.WorldBox: Technically depends on what you decide to put in your world, but all the tools available have a mix of High Fantasy and Science Fiction elements. You have the Standard Fantasy Races, White & Black Mage, fire-breathing dragons, animated skeletons, and also aliens with spaceships, Nanomachines, robot drones trying to assimilate the world, a Robot Santa that drops giftwrapped bombs, and absurdly powerful Antimatter Bombs.
# Characters.InfiniteDendrogram: Kaguya's jobs are all within the Priest grouping. Her Superior Job is High Priestess, which is achieved by having 500 levels in jobs only from the Priest grouping, and to also have the recommendation of 1,000 individuals whose main jobs are similarly from the Priest grouping. It is also a pure support job with low stats in all attributes except MP.
# Characters.CaseyAndAndy: A classic Dungeons & Dragons-style cleric, she specializes in healing magics and resurrections.
# Characters.ReincarnatedAsADragonHatchling: She specializes in healing magic and is classed as a White Mage, though she's still able to use offensive spells.
# Characters.LunarTheSilverStar: Plenty of healing and status-affecting songs.
# Characters.SnowWhiteWithTheRedHair: WholeCostumeReference: Her red and white uniform looks a lot like a WhiteMage outfit.
# Characters.FireEmblemFatesNohrRoyalFamily: LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: She and her younger sister Elise. Camilla is a Ms. Fanservice and Magic Knight, while Elise is a WhiteMage and Little Sister Heroine.
# Memes.FireEmblemThreeHouses: Mercedes with a gun.Explanation While she is the WhiteMage of the group, Mercedes is capable of being a strong Combat Medic with her Reason skill leveled up. As such, fans enjoy portraying her with a gun, invoking the "I'm a healer, but..." meme to hilarious effect.
# Characters.DivinityOriginalSinII: In character can be played this way.
# Sandbox.CharactersAPracticalGuideToEvil: Another parallel with Tancred, her bestowal gave her healing abilities, allowing her to cure the Dead King's plague.
# Characters.KonoSubaProtagonists: Aqua is a water goddess Archpriest who is a walking anti-undead/demon nuke, but is not very reliable on anything else (though she is surprisingly skilled at random, seemingly useless skills). Also, she's Born Unlucky, and tends to attract all sorts of danger by either screwing up a plan or her godly aura attracting monsters to her.
# Characters.ConversationsWithACryptid: BrokenPedestal: Recovery Girl is the trusted and grandmotherly Team Mom and WhiteMage for Yuuei. She makes sure everyone is healed from their wounds and has many medical expertise to allow them to be treated at the school. So it's rather horrifying to find out that she has a long history of medical malpractice with students dying under her care and never went to medical school. It's horrifying to find out that she's the actual reason Izuku and Toshinori haven't recovered from their injuries.
# Roleplay.UnboundParaServant: By consuming Ambrosia and Nectar and then killing Leviathan, The Argonauts FableDomains Capes, Monsters, Free-Will, People and Miracles., ArachneDomains Battle, Survival, Escalation, Bugs and Sun., PersisDomains Love, Weather, Sea, Storms and Land, and PythiaDomains Precognition, Pericognition, Postcognition, Magic and Planning gain Rank A Divinity and become newborn Gods with all that entails. As a reward for killing an Endbringer, the Argonauts are rewarded with an Ambrosia/Nectar Happy Meal (the toy was stolen by the Remnant of Mercury/Hermes) with which they Ascend their fifth member TyroneDomains Medicine, Redemption, Willpower, Alchemy and Healing.
# DarthWiki.JourneyLeftAlone: Clerics. Of the party, Ivan falls under this trope the most, being the only pure cleric. While Sulley and Mara are also both clerics, their actions in battle generally focus more on damage.
# Characters.PhantasyStarI: All of Myau's magic is healing, stat buffing, or affects the area (disarm traps, escape dungeons, etc.).
# VideoGame.FinalFantasyXIII2: The same roles make a return from the original game - Commando, Ravager, Sentinel, Synergist, Saboteur & Medic. The two main characters start with the first three and can learn the rest as a bonus whenever their crystarium expands. Captured monsters have a fixed role, though you can have up to three of them in your party switching out as needed. Lightning's DLC, Requiem of the Goddess, gives her six roles which roughly correspond to the roles Serah and Noel get. Paladin is the Commando, Knight is the Sentinel, Sorcerer is the Saboteur, and Conjurer is the Synergist. She does not get a role corresponding to the Medic, instead having two roles which act as Ravagers, the Shaman which specializes in physical attacks with wind properties and the Mage which uses the standard Thunder spells.
# UnusuallyUninterestingSight.VideoGames: It is supposedly inherently evil, making it an officially shunned practice, and seriously lacking in the subtlety department, as even the most simple of blood magics invokes Overdrawn at the Blood Bank. Now become a blood mage and notice that even the biggest nay-sayers won't as much as react to your reckless display and blatant disregard for the dangers of such magic. Hell, you can even turn your resident WhiteMage, who spends most of her dialogues sternly lecturing you and other users about the inherent dangers of Blood Magic, into one and she will never comment on the hypocrisy.
# DarthWiki.LololoWorld: He's mostly a healer and protector, and the primary source of status-cleansing.
# Characters.DragonQuestSwords: Her skills are mostly healing related, and she can use Squelch to cure poisoning.
# VideoGame.PhantasyStarIV: TheMedic: In terms of gameplay function, Raja is a typical Squishy Wizard WhiteMage. His characterization, on the other hand, is anything but typical.
# Characters.SevenKnightsNormalHeroes: Has powerful light magic abilities. Her magic is the exact opposite of dark magic and thus the counterpart and rival of Velika.
# QuoteSource.VideoGames: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light Bound and Gagged Crutch Character Fishing for Mooks Improbably Predictable Mutually Exclusive Party Members Secret Shop WhiteMage
# Characters.BoxxyQuestTheShiftedSpires: HealerSignsOnEarly: In this case, the healer signs on first. Catie learns quite a few attacks, but her real utility is her powerful healing magic. As a WhiteMage, she easily outclasses everyone else in the party.
# Characters.FinalFantasyThe4HeroesOfLight: Despite starting off as a knight, Yunita is unparalleled in the role of a healer, having the highest Spirit growth out of the four.
# Characters.QinsMoon: In the Mobile RPG, where her limit break heals the whole party.
# NominalHero.VideoGames: Thracia 776 has Lifis, a pirate leader and Starter Villain who essentially gets roped into the story by way of having been captured by the heroes, and the on-the-run heroes not having a good way to permanently imprison him. Quite a few times in the story, he remarks that he's planning to make a run for it, but only if he can manage to sleep with the local WhiteMage first.
# SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan.VideoGames: Both Arche and Mint become attracted to Cress due to his bravery and selfless nature. Arche eventually moves on to Cress's friend Chester who, under his gruff facade, is just as brave and heroic.
# Characters.UsAndThem: Naturally. While on Beud A'Evori she actually becomes an accredited white mage after joining the White Mages Guild.
# Characters.Journey2014: Thanks to his newfound healing magic.
# VideoGame.TransformersUniverse: Several classes - such as Soldiers, Demolishers, Medics, Hybrids, Mechanists, Suppressors, and Guardians.
# Characters.PokemonGenerationVVictiniToZoroark: It can learn a variety of support moves, and its Healer Ability can randomly remove an ally's status effect while both are on the field.
# Characters.RagnarokOnline: To the Mage's Black Mage, in addition to buffing skills.
