So this is where it gets interesting. Doyle I can see counting. He's a heavy participant in Ritterman's plan, knowing exactly what he's going to do with that reactor, plus he's engaging in human trafficking, manipulating El Cajon into killing people for ultimately selfish reasons, is a total BadBoss who threatens his men on numerous occasions, and is a sex pest who is willing to keep the female leads around for his own personal pleasure rather than sell them as slaves.

Ritterman, meanwhile, is only revealed in the final 20 minutes of Part 2.

slaves. Doyle himself, despite following Ritterman's orders, is still independent of him, willing to take advantage of his position to try and find Del Rio, even if he has to kill innocents so that nobody else but him can discover the city.

Ritterman, meanwhile, is only revealed in the final 20 minutes of Part 2.
2. He doesn't have much of a personality beyond being a dick, but his plan is pretty large in scope (one of the few villains to do so), and he's responsible for a good majority of Doyle's actions, such as the slave trading, to the deaths of innocents. At the end of the day, Ritterman's still calling the shots.

We're returning to ''Series/TheATeam'' with some candidates I was previously on the fence about.

For this EP, we'll be talking about the third episode of Season 1, "Pros and Cons".

Here, a friend of B.A. Baracus, Jase, has been arrested and sent to Strikersville Prison, and is tasked to get him out with the rest of the A-Team's help. But inside the prison lies trouble in the form of this guy.

'''Who is He?'''

Warden Beale is the obese, corrupt head of the Strikersville Prison, secretly running an illegal fighting arena for money.

'''What has he done?'''

Beale forces his prisoners to fight to the death in front of a paying audience, choosing the strongest fighters to train while leaving the opponents untrained and weak. The winner gets to leave the prison a free man. After the fight, the loser is shot dead, with over 7 people having died during these death matches.

The winner, on the other hand, is promised freedom if they can make it outside of the prison's parameter. But in actuality, Beale has his men hunt them down for sport, giving his prisoners an unfair disadvantage so that his men can easily ambush and kill them.

With Jase being the only one to survive the hunt, he's later arrested once again and forced to fight to the death by Beale. With the A-Team going undercover inside the prison to free Jase, Beale takes note of the (seemingly) deaf and mute Baracus's strength, forcing him to fight to the death despite his "condition." But before the fight can begin, the A-Team literally crash the fight by driving a van into the arena. Beale is later arrested for his crimes and his fighting ring dismantled.

For you see, Ritterman is actually a Nazi colonel who escaped Germany to reside in South America, where plots to unleash the New Reich upon the world. To do this, Ritterman makes a deal with Doyle, with the crooked treasure hunter tasked to gather up slaves

So Doyle teams up with El Cajon, manipulating him into destroying boats carrying innocents that come close to uncovering the location of the reactor. Those who survive are sold to Ritterman to work as slaves in his plan to build the reactor. To Doyle, this works in his favor twofold, since not only is he supplying Ritterman with the slaves he needs and forced to fight to keeping his plans a secret, but it also means that nobody can find Del Rio before him. And with his rival Brian being one of the death by Beale. survivors of El Cajon's latest attack, Doyle decides to torture him for days to acquire Del Rio's location.

selfishness every chance he gets.

Ritterman is a pretty standard Nazi villain who also doesn't show anything remotely redeeming.

Beale is a pretty small scaled villain compared to ones like Ivan and Martien, but his crime is pretty unique for the series, and he's responsible for about 14 deaths prior to the start of the episode. There's also the fact that, despite Baracus faking his condition, Beale is willing to force a deaf and mute man to fight to the death.

Also helps that the show honestly doesn't have the biggest heinous standard, with a good majority of the villains being pretty lightweight.

''City Hunter'' is a 2024 action movie based on the manga of the same name. Serving as the second live action film adaptation of Ryo's adventures, this movie's actually pretty awesome, with some great action and a dark plot that translates well on film.

Based on an early story arc in the manga, Ryo Saeba is an incredibly badass, and incredibly perverted, "sweeper" who is tasked to find a woman's missing sister, Kurumi. But after his partner Hideyuki is killed, his adopted sister Kaori tasks Ryo to track down her brother's killer, who actually has connections to the missing Kurumi. Ryo and Kaori end up getting entangled in a scheme led by Union Teope, a crime syndicate who is currently using Shinjuku as a testing ground for the drug Angel Dust. Kurumi's blood is found to be immune to the drug's effects, and they want it bad. It's up to Ryo to make sure that doesn't happen.

Strikersville Prison, secretly running an illegal fighting arena for money.

Taking advantage of the explosives attached to his and his subordinates' necks to instill fear in his henchmen by threatening to activate them at any given chance, the head works with the CEO of the cosmetics brand Lore to create an enhanced version of the combat drug Angel Dust, having runaway kids and homeless people used as guinea pigs. While Angel Dust grants them super strength and mobility, basically making them super soldiers, it also causes these subjects to lose their minds and murder people, only to die from the drug's effects after a few days. The head is tasked to make a more enhanced version of the drug for his unseen bosses, with the Union hoping to sell it across the entire world through the black market. The surge of Angel Dust throughout Shinjuku results in a lot of deaths, with one of his subjects killing Kaori's brother Hideyuki.

Seeking the cosplayer Kurumi after she escaped his hideout, the head sends his lackeys out to retrieve her, since her special blood is needed to perfect Angel Dust. When they fail, the head kills a random, unsuspecting henchman by activating the explosive implanted in his neck as a way to show them what would happen if they fail again; Black Bear is later a victim of such after getting arrested. With Kurumi eventually acquired by a cop secretly working for the Union for a briefcase full of money, the head activates a hidden explosive inside the case that kills him.

Once Kurumi's blood is used to enhance the effects of Angel Dust, the head, believing he now has everything he needs, casually kills the CEO of Lore and has all the doctors and test subjects gunned down, having no use for them anymore. This includes Kurumi's friend Kento, who was one of the many subjects used for the tests. Hoping to make a getaway with Kurumi in a helicopter, the head offers Ryo a chance to join the Union, even smugly stating that Hideyuki was nothing but a "weakling", and that "the weak must die."

Upon being tailed by Kaori, the head sadistically reveals to her that her "weak" father was a originally Union member who wanted out of the syndicate after having her. So he ratted him out, and got him to become a test subject for Angel Dust, which caused him to go on a violent rampage that led him to getting shot by a cop, the same one who took Kaori in to raise her.

But upon being stopped by Saeko and Ryo, the head desperately tries to get Kaori to shoot him, knowing that his unseen bosses will activate his explosives and kill him themselves. In an act of desperation, the head tries to kill Ryo and Kaori, but the explosives go off anyway, putting an end to his tyranny.

After thinking about it... nope. While he may be loyal to the Union, he's still not afraid to use fear to control other Union loyalists like his henchmen, and the film portrays him as everything wrong with the syndicate, from his cold behavior towards his associates, to his sadist love of feeling superior over everybody else.

And then there's his death. While he's terrified of the idea of being killed by his unseen bosses, given that he spends his final moments trying to kill Ryo and Kaori, plus the fact that he's willing to use the exact same method to control his own men and kill them to send a message, show that he's really not any better, and is only sad that ''he's'' on the other receiving end this time.

So my biggest worry is that the head is a cog in the machine, used by the Union to create their own brand of Angel Dust no matter how many have to die. But upon inspection, I think it's safe to say that the head isn't just a mindless drone, and is pretty independent himself. He's the one who keeps his lackeys in line by threatening to have them murdered, he's the one who decided to kill Lore's CEO and personally ordered the massacre of their defenseless doctors and test subjects, and he's the one who personally brags about ruining Kaori's life to her face by being responsible for the death of her biological father.

And while the Union have been experimenting on Angel Dust for decades, the head has been the leader of their operation for a while, and is responsible for all the worst aspects of the operation. It helps too that the narrative paints the head as a cowardly piece of slime who is no better than the people he deems as weak; the movie ''really'' wants us to hate this guy, and I think he does just enough to earn that hate.

\n\n''The Maid Uniform and Machine Gun'' is an action game and Vol. 105 of the Simple 2000 series, the same series that ''VideoGame/TheSniper2'' hails from. Though a low budget game released for the [=PS2=], if you're expecting another gonzo disaster like ''The Sniper 2'', you'll be disappointed to find that this game's actually pretty alright.

Though it helps that the plot is pretty simple (heh), feeling like a cross between ''Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay'' and ''Manga/{{Mahoromatic}}''. Two robots created by Dr. Misaki, combat butler Master Gerald and android battle maid Laura, revolt against their master to conquer the future, hoping to travel back in time to make Misaki's younger self work for them to build technology for their plan. Stealing his time machine, Misaki uses his backup android battle maid Yuki to go back and time to protect his young self from the rebellious robots.

'''Who is She?'''

He?'''

Master Gerald is a combat butler who, alongside the battle android Laura, plans to conquer all of time itself.

'''What does he do?'''

Proving himself more sophisticated than Laura, Gerald and Laura force the scientist Dr. Masaki to build them a time machine for their plan, then reveals that they plan to use it to go back in time to "hire" his younger self to make them inventions that will create a time paradox and alter history. Having Laura and her army of robots kidnap the young Masaki at his villa, upon her failure, Gerald reveals to have already sent another team to the villa just in case

didn't succeed.

Laura later catches Masaki, and despite being pursued by Yuki on a highway, Gerald nevertheless reassures her that she's doing well, and that he'll be taking over for now. And this entails Gerald appearing from out of nowhere to throw some daggers at Yuki's car, causing it to crash. With Masaki in hand, Gerald prepares to brainwash him into working for him, while luring Yuki into a trap that will see her weakened to the point of being easy to kill. With the two of them look to be losing to Yuki during the first phase of their final boss fight, Gerald's willing to sacrifice himself to ensure Laura's safety.

Now there's two endings to this game:
* In the normal ending, Gerald angrily admits defeat after coming so close to completion ("Gah... darn it all. We were so close...!"), and is taken back to the present alongside Laura and Yuki.
* But in the good ending, upon losing to Yuki, Gerald grabs Laura and escapes, planning to relaunch another attack in the future, while admitting to gathering a whole lot of combat data during the fight, which he hopes to use to upgrade Laura accordingly.

'''Is he charming? Intelligent? Able to think on her feet?'''

his feet?'''

Gerald is a gentlemanly antagonist who remains ahead of Yuki every step of the way, from sending reinforcements just in case Laura fails, to luring Yuki into a trap that would give him and Laura the upper hand, to secretly gathering combat data to eventually give himself and Laura the upper hand.

And unlike Laura, Gerald's pretty calm most of the time, even going so far as to respect Yuki's nobility. And though his initial defeat shows him to be angry, it's not a full-fledged VillainousBreakdown, and the Good Ending shows that he's already recovered and has a plan for a future attack.

But he dearly cares for Laura, making sure she's okay every chance he gets, even willing to give up his own life to protect her.

And it helps too that the game is pretty lighthearted, so Gerald's actions aren't played as heinously evil or anything.

With the narrator being hired by Father Lopez to gather enough evidence to get the redneck behind bars before he could slaughter all the Salvadoran refugees hiding in the church's basement, the redneck took to mortally wounding the narrator's friend Trinidad and left him on the side make a more enhanced version of the road drug for his unseen bosses, with the Union hoping to die sell it across the entire world through the black market.

When they fail, the head kills a random, unsuspecting henchman by activating the explosive implanted in his neck
as a way to scare him off. The redneck even goes so far as to murder Father Lopez himself, leaving his body behind at the front show them what would happen if they fail again; Black Bear is later a victim of the church as he attempts to make a getaway.

Once Kurumi's blood is used to enhance the effects of Angel Dust, the head, believing he now has everything he needs, casually kills the CEO of Lore and has all the doctors and test subjects gunned down, having no use for them anymore. This includes Kurumi's friend Kento, who was one

Hoping to make a getaway with Kurumi in a helicopter, upon being tailed by Kaori, the head smugly

Inside, the narrator notices an entire graveyard of undead immigrants beside their still-living families, all of whom being victims Union member who wanted out of the redneck's syndicate after having her. So the head ratted him out, and got him to become a test subject for Angel Dust, which caused him to go on a violent hatred. With the redneck tied up, hung up, and completely naked while crying and pissing himself, the undead immigrants take turns slowly killing him as revenge, their torture of the redneck so grave rampage that not even led him to getting shot by a cop, the narrator's willing same one who took Kaori in to look inside raise her.

Zilch. While the narrator feels bad for the redneck's fate of being slowly tortured to death, since he believes nobody should have to go through that, even he knows that the redneck feels sad not because he regrets what he's done, but because he was caught and now has to deal with the consequences of his actions. Easily So my biggest worry is that the worst head is a cog in the story, with machine, used by the Union to create their own brand of Angel Dust no matter how many have to die. But upon inspection, I think it's safe to say that the head isn't just a mindless drone, and is pretty independent himself. He's the one who keeps his murders so brutal lackeys in line by threatening to have them murdered, he's the one who decided to kill Lore's CEO and a bodycount so big, it could fill an entire graveyard.

Nah, I'm just kidding. It's a lot more complicated than that.

Suzee Scarface, the titular Doll 538, is a sentient doll who seeks the best for her owners, looking to help them take down the sources of their problems. And that means a whole lot of murder.

to:

Suzee Scarface, the titular Doll 538, is a sentient doll who seeks the best for her owners, looking to help them take down the sources of their problems. And that means a whole lot of murder.

Suzee was once a doll who was too helpless to stop her first owner Darla Jones from being beaten to death by her own insane father, with her mother helping to cover up the murder. It was then that Suzee promised to never let that happen again.

With her owners often being put-upon young women trapped in abusive relationships with their parents, Suzee teaches them to stand up for themselves... by having them kill their oppressors, from convincing one of her owners to kill her abusive husband, to instilling enough confidence in a girl to not only take good care in raising her 7 brothers, but also kill the men who were mooching off her mom, and how to prey on her neighbors' pity, making her as cunning and ruthless as any man.

Suzee later falls into the hands of Marilee Morrow, who has to deal with her abusive mother. Feeling that Marilee lacks the courage needed to stand up to her mother and kill her, Suzee comes up with a plan to pit the two against each other in order to make Marilee so angry that she'll one day kill her mom. Suzee earns Marilee's affection by revealing her sentience to her, getting her to show defiance towards her mother as Suzee secretly tries to scar her psyche enough for her to go from a doormat to a killer with a spine. So Suzee destroys Marilee's non-sentient dolls and teddy bear to break her spirit, while also carving up her mom's credit cards and pinning the blame on her to further increase their hostility towards each other. Suzee even goes so far as to drive glass silver under Marilee's fingernails while she's asleep in order to be attacked by her, which to her, is a good sign that Suzee is willing to fight back.

Later on, after a heated battle with her mom, Suzee is finally able to convince Marilee to kill her mother, the little girl preferring to use a cheese grater to slit her throat after Suzee beforehand gave her sleeping pills and sewed her mouth shut after finding her passed out from alcohol consumption. With her mom now dead, Suzee and Marilee perform a happy dance to celebrate, and as Marilee is taken in by child protective services, Suzee ends the story feeling triumphant, happy to have gotten Marilee out of her figurative shell to stand up for herself.

Suzee is very good at manipulating her owners into committing murder, mainly by getting them on her good side and implanting ideas of murder into their heads. She's able to turn young girls into killers, and even get away with it, too.

And while Suzee does have some pent-up anger, considering she hates how her owners often suffer at the hands of their abusers, it doesn't backfire on her in any serious way, and she still comes out the victor.

She wanted to give Marilee a backbone, and if she had to worsen the relationship between her and her mom into getting the chance to kill her, then so be it. Either way, Suzee still loves her.

Frequently mistreating his soldiers, while unafraid to kill traitors on a whim, upon finding out that Anya accidentally swallowed the microfilm contained in a chocolate truffle, Snidel gives his henchmen the orders to disembowel her and fish for the microfilm that way if she doesn't shit it out instead. Even after Anya does her business in the bathroom, Snidel still plans to vivisect her for fun.

But Loid arrives and saves the day, knocking Snidel out in a fight while disguised as him. After that, Snidel just... disappears from the plot. We never really find out what happened to him, whether or not he survived the crashing of his zeppelin, or if he's still out there.

While Snidel doesn't do a whole lot of stuff in the movie (he's kind of a standard NonSerialMovie villain), his plans are still catastrophic on a global level, he doesn't mind killing a 5-year-old to further his plans, and he's portrayed as an all around selfish asshole.

Compared to the anime's canon, Snidel easily passes. The only other competition he has is Kepler, who is basically the same but on a far smaller scale, and minus the animal abuse.

With Lee, Joel, Frequently mistreating his soldiers, while unafraid to kill traitors on a whim, upon finding out that Anya accidentally swallowed the microfilm contained in a chocolate truffle, Snidel gives his henchmen the orders to disembowel her and Joel's friend Tony trying to negotiate with fish for the soldier to let microfilm that way if she doesn't shit it out instead. But Loid arrives and saves
the soldier casually kills Bodhi and promises to let them all go... if they tell him day, knocking Snidel out in a fight while disguised as him. After that, Snidel just... disappears from the plot. We never really find out what ''kind'' of American they are. More specifically, where they're from. Lee and Joel give their answers, but when a distraught Tony answers "Hong Kong", happened to him, whether or not he survived the soldier shoots him with zero hesitation.

Getting ready to shoot Jessie regardless

None. The soldier Snidel is just ultimately a racist, ultra-patriotic man terrorist who will gladly holds little respect for his soldiers, often threatening them into following his orders. And while the trope page claims that he has respect for Loid, he still tries to kill anybody he deems non-American, and given by his attitude towards him with a poisonous gas that even Lee and Joel, not even ''they'' get special treatment.
his own soldiers think is going too far.

Despite appearing in only one scene (Plemmon shot this scene in a day), the soldier stands out for having the highest body count in the movie (which like I've said, includes children), and for being the most SociopathicSoldier encountered by our troupe of reporters on their journey. While the President may've caused a ton of bloodshed, the soldier has no connection to either side of the battle; he's just some random, racist fuckwad looking for an excuse to kill people he thinks are a threat to his country.

Now Ravok and I were almost not going to propose this guy because we at first couldn't decide if he was the leader of the soldiers. But upon reevaluation, it's clear that he's the one calling the shots (besides, he visually stands out from his own men, and since he's given more focus, it's heavily implied that he's the brains behind the operation).

Unearthed from the Desperation mining shaft long ago, Tak went on to murder the miners and soon the entire town. Tak spent many years possessing people and using them to commit murder, with his hosts' bodies quickly decaying before having to jump to another one. Tak would go on to kill 87 people in a Vietnam bar, and later returns to Desperation in the present, controlling the body of the town's sheriff Collie Entragian.

As Collie, Tak would go on to frame travelers for marijuana possession and have them locked up, even killing some for fun, including Mary's husband Peter, and the Carver family's little daughter. With the bodies of Desperation's previous residents littering the stores and jail, Tak later possesses the body of Ellie Carver in order to continue his murders, hoping to kill his escaped prisoners, especially her son David, who was sent by God to stop him. ''Film/MonkeyMan'' is a 2024 action movie that serves as the directorial debut for Creator/DevPatel, who also starred and co-wrote it. Patel went through hell and back making this movie (it was shot in India right when COVID started breaking out for one thing), and it's thanks to Creator/JordanPeele stepping in that it managed to get released. Also (don't mean to brag), I actually got to see the movie's premiere at SXSW this year.

Patel stars as "Kid", a man whose village was destroyed by a corrupt police force during his childhood, with his mom serving as one of the casualties. Out for blood against the ones who ruined his life, and heavily influenced by the legend of Hanuman, Kid finds he has to tango with India's elite who rule the country from the shadows.

'''Who is She?'''

Antoinette du Sang is a vicious vampire from Fiona's past who Belial seeks to use for his plans.

'''What has she done?'''

Debuting in S2's third episode, "The Bridge", Antoinette was once a friend of fellow vampire Fiona, but upon finding out she fell in love with a human, Antoinette slaughtered an entire ballroom and turned him into a vampire out of spite, feeling that all vampires should be bloodthirsty animals. Her soul was later taken and placed in a jar to end her madness.

Returning in S2's sixth episode, "The Return", Antoinette is revived by Belial and happily accepts his offer to terrorize everybody in New Orleans to help him if it means slaughtering as many people as she wants. Killing a guy before trying to massacre a town hall meeting, Antoinette is scared off after a fight with Fiona. Launching another attack after recovering and feeding off of more people, Antoinette threatens to kill Stanley's mother, the mayor, if they don't leave her alone. This leads to a final battle between Fiona and Antoinette, the latter even gleefully promising that she will just keep coming back to kill everybody she loves.

But Fiona's able to put a stake through her heart, ending her nightmare for good.

''Series/TheFallGuy'' is an action show from the 80s created by Glen A. Larson.

Lasting for 5 seasons, the show stars Creator/LeeMajors as Colt Seavers, a stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter alongside his cousin Howie Munson and professional stuntwoman Jody Banks. Salem is an international terrorist who Ryker is trying to hunt down in Hawaii.

A "murderous piece of slime" who has terrorized half the world for ten years, and has killed men, women, and children in the name of any cause willing to pay him, Salem is hired by a mysterious client to kill the president of San Samoa in Honolulu. Using his mole, Agent Bradshaw, to frame Ryker as a criminal and allow him to go undetected by the CIA, Salem has Ryker's friend and partner Chang killed while investigating, and has Bradshaw kill an injured Ryker. Speaking of Bradshaw, Salem is pretty open about being willing to sell him out if need be in order to save his own skin.

Salem hopes to assassinate the president by flying over him while he's in his limousine and dropping stolen grenades over him, uncaring about the collateral damage that would ensue, including the death of the president's bodyguards, his wife, and three kids. Ultimately, Salem is shot down by Colt in the process of his assassination, and is arrested for his crimes.

It's an 80s action show, so that means a lot of the criminals are going to be very generic bad guys, often thugs, mob bosses, and more with a few measly murders at most.

Salem definitely stands out for being a global threat with a long history of murder, and he does just enough in the present to reinforce his reputation as a total slimeball.

"Prisoner". Here, Jody tries to accomplish a bounty when Colt refuses to tackle it, only to get sent to the prison along with the target for fighting in public. But as it turns out, the prison they're sent to, Cell Block 6, is a complete facade for an insidious criminal operation. All of which is led by this man.

''Waking Nightmares'' is a ComicBook/TheCrow comic that I've already covered before a few years ago. While current keeper Artie Merserve isn't going anywhere, upon further inspection, I think one of his underlings is worth a shot.

to:

Xin is the head of the Merserve's child pornography business, kidnapping children and making sick pornographic films with them under Merserve's orders.

to:

\nXin is responsible for protagonist Mark Leung's demise, with Xin even personally cutting out Mark's heart to finish him off, Xin even kidnaps Mark's two daughters to use them for his latest film, even gloating to the daughters with the fact that he murdered their father when they get out of line.

Xin regularly films child porn in his studio, and is willing to threaten his "stars" with murder if they don't do as they're told. Xin later meets his demise when he's interrupted by the resurrected Mark and some rival Triads as he's about to film his latest child porno, Xin even revealing that he lent Mark's daughters to Merserve to hold them hostage.

to:

Nope.

to:

\nWhile Merserve is the one calling all the shots, Xin is still the most involved in Merserve's operation, serving as TheHeavy for his plans. Xin personally directs the child porn and is willing to get his hands dirty if need be, completely unafraid to threaten and murder the children under his containment.

''VideoGame/TakeshisChallenge'' is an insane and ''very'' difficult Famicom game from 1986 by the one and only Creator/TakeshiKitano, who created the game as one massive middle finger to gamers and video games in general. While the game never left Japan, there exists an English fan translation online.

The game concerns a nameless salaryman who can do whatever he wants. You can drink, you can sing karaoke, you can take guitar lessons, [[BreadEggsMilkSquick you can kill your wife and kids]], it's basically proto-GTA. But there is a plot to this game, which is impossible to find out how to progress unless you have a guide; which was Kitano's intention. You only get one life, and when you lose it, you're going all the way back to the beginning. And did I mention this game is hard?

To progress, the player must quit their job, get drunk, divorce your wife, find secret stashes of money, take Shamisen lessons, waste more money playing pachinko, and sing three songs at karaoke bar. All while defending yourself from Yakuza thugs who won't leave you alone, and can drain your health in seconds. And we haven't even gotten to the hard part of the game yet.

Everything changes though when this man shows up.

The nameless old man is a supposedly wise fellow who hands the salaryman a treasure map after defeating some Yakuza thugs at a karaoke bar.

With the map being a blank piece of paper, the old man is nevertheless confident that the salaryman will "solve the map's riddle", the player has to do some crazy shit to reveal the map's true contents (like either soak it in water between 5-10 real life minutes and "cry" into the second controller microphone/press the a button, or leave it in the sun without touching the controller for an hour).

But the true motives of the old man aren't revealed until literally the end of the game. After going through so much torment getting to the treasure, the old man appears before you at ''the very last second'' revealing that he was actually after the treasure as well, and that he was just following the player all this time in order to find it. The old man then kills the player and successfully takes the treasure for himself, requiring them to play through '''the entire game all over again.'''

So to get around this kaizo trap, the player has to actually beat the old man to death before venturing off to the island.

The old man appears to be a wise sage type who promises the salaryman treasure, but really is just using him to reveal the contents of the map, and secretly follows him all the way to the treasure in order to steal it all for himself. And he succeeds, too. Well, if you don't kill him before heading to the island, but that requires hindsight to have known to do that. When you think about it, the old man as the first KaizoTrap in gaming.

It helps too that the salaryman, canonically, is a piece of shit. Considering he literally gets drunk, divorces his wife (possibly beats her and his kids), and quits his job just to hunt for treasure. Honestly, the old man did us a favor for beating him to the treasure and killing him.

The old man is willing to trick the salaryman into going on a dangerous adventure to uncover the treasure for him, and then goes so far as to kill him and claim the treasure for himself when he succeeds.

But again, he's still a better person than the salaryman.

Rhona is a mob assassin who, after giving birth to her son Mika, steals some guns and money in order to make an escape from her life of crime. Seeking control of the Spice to gain immense power, Baron sets up shop on the planet Arrakis in order to harvest the Spice for himself, using his dimwitted nephew Glossu Rabban to submit the planet and its inhabitants, the Fremen, to his whim through murder and fear, even having the Fremen villagers hunted for sport. Baron hopes to have Rabban terrorize a village so that his prized nephew Feyd-Rautha can step in, kill his brother, and act as the Fremens' savior so that he gain their trust, even grooming his "handsome" nephew to be his eventual successor.

A disgusting slob in the meantime, Baron also has young boy slaves do his bidding for him, often forcing them to sleep with him for personal pleasure. Baron even owns a slave pit that Gurney was once a part of, even having his young slaves sent to his nephew Feyd to fight to the death for his amusement, with hundreds dying by Feyd's hands.

Baron, with the help of Feyd, orchestrates the Emperor's desire to see the downfall of House Atreides so that he can control the Spice and obtain power over the universe, along with paying what he sees as revenge on the Atreides' for humiliating his bloodline for centuries. Implanting Dr. Yueh as the traitor among the Atreides family, while promising to free his wife should he succeed, Baron gives his men the orders to take no prisoners during the attack on House Atreides.

Upon Lady Jessica's capture, Baron gloats that he could cut her vocal cords and allow Piter to rape her, but instead opts to just throw her into the desert to die among the sands of Arakis alongside Paul, as that would make it look like he wasn't personally responsible for the attack. Upon the attack's completion, Baron presents the traitor Yueh with the dead body of his wife, claiming that as he's a man of his word, he has indeed "freed" her soul from this world. But Baron has Yueh killed anyway, as one should never trust a traitor, even one they created. Baron even kept the paralyzed Leto alive so that he could witness his empire crumble.

But Baron has bigger plans, as he secretly plots with Feyd to assassinate the Emperor so that he can take his place as ruler of the universe. Baron also assists the Emperor in the Fremen genocide to crush the rebels led by Paul, now "Muad'dib". Attempting to kill Paul's little sister Alia when she reveals herself as a distraction for the Fremen rebels to enact their attack, she ends up fatally stabbing him, putting an end to the Baron's evil ways... or so we thought.

Returning as a Ghola many years later, Baron, desiring revenge, acts as the grown up Alia's spiritual advisor, corrupting her into becoming such a paranoid dictator that she wishes to murder Jessica and Paul's twin children to secure her spot. His possession of her proves to be so horrible that, when given the option by Leto-II to either kill him or commit suicide, Alia chooses the latter option, finally dying as herself and foiling the Baron's plan.

The Baron ''is'' the standard, responsible for hundreds, if not thousands, of deaths, slave pits, molestations, attempted genocide, and more. responsible for hundreds, if not thousands, of deaths, slave pits, molestations, attempted genocide, and more. While the fall of House Atreides and Fremen genocide can be traced back to the Emperor, it's the Baron who is the most involved in carrying out his plans, while having a couple of nasty side-hobbies of his own.

Sadly, Rabban doesn't do much to count. When he's not getting insulted by his uncle, Rabban primarily oppresses the Fremen (all of which is offscreen), publicly kills some captured Fremen rebels as a lesson to a village... and that's it. Unlike other adaptations, he doesn't participate in the House Atreides massacre, nor does he get involved in the Fremen genocide, unlike his uncle.

''Series/FrankHerbertsDune'' and ''Series/FrankHerbertsChildrenOfDune'' are a duology of miniseries by the [[Creator/{{Syfy}} Sci-Fi Channel]]. Despite the channel's reputation for in-house programming, both miniseries (especially the latter) were lauded for their faithfulness toward the source material that [[Film/Dune1984 the previous adaptation]] lacked.

The first miniseries was a straight adaptation of the [[Literature/{{Dune}} first book]], comprised of three 90-minute episodes. The second miniseries combined the [[Literature/DuneMessiah second]] and [[Literature/ChildrenOfDune third]] books together into another three episode story.

And as you can expect, there's a certain somebody who I'll be proposing.

A former electronic store manager who disgusting slob in the meantime, Baron also has young boy slaves do his bidding for him, often forcing them to sleep with him for personal pleasure.

But Baron has Yueh

\n''VideoGame/TakeshisChallenge'' is an insane and ''very'' difficult Famicom game from 1986 by the one and only Creator/TakeshiKitano, who created the game as one massive middle finger to gamers and video games in general.

'''Who is She?'''

He?'''

The nameless old man is a supposedly wise fellow who hands the salaryman a treasure map after defeating some Yakuza thugs at a karaoke bar.

'''What does she do?'''

he do?'''

'''Is she he charming? Intelligent? Able to think on her his feet?'''

'''Is she he a bitch? bastard? Too much of one?'''

The old man is willing to trick the salaryman into going on a dangerous adventure to uncover the treasure for him, and then goes so far as to kill him and claim the treasure for himself when he succeeds.

But again, he's still a better person than the salaryman.

''VideoGame/MarioTheMusicBox'' is a very... fascinating fan game. It's basically what would happen if you made a game in the vein of ''VideoGame/CorpseParty'', ''VideoGame/MadFather'', and ''VideoGame/TheWitchsHouse''... but have it star Mario and Luigi, with a very dark plot and little in the way of humor. While the game itself has a lot of effort behind it, and the creator made the game during a very dark time in her life, there are parts of the game unfortunately dripping with {{narm}} solely because of its premise. But I digress.

The game was followed up by an expansion known as ''ARC'' and the ''Wonderland'' DLC, where Mario is transported to a twisted version of Wonderland that he has to escape from. The first game also got a remake in 2021, but we're going to be talking about the original version.

The story involves Mario going to an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom, which is said to be cursed, as many who enter it haven't returned. While there, Mario opens up a music box and unleashes a curse that prevents him from leaving. Now Mario, with the help of Luigi and the supposed inspector Riba, must find a way out of the mansion while uncovering all of its secrets. Oh, and while trying to avoid very gory deaths and game overs.

Later expansions shed more light on the mansion's residents, such as the fate of the nearby Evangeline Town that resides beside the mansion, and the reason why Mario and Luigi were drawn back to the mansion despite having no familiarity with it.

But most of the tragedies surrounding these games can all be traced back to one person.

'''Who is She?'''

Len Alwena Foska, taking the form of an innocent black cat, is later revealed to be the evil and sadistic Witch of Fate who is responsible for most of the events of the entire series.

'''What has she done?'''

Having given the witch hunter clergyman Marchionne Evangelisti a brooch that would grant him whatever wish he desired should he be on the brink of death, upon his eventual execution at the hands of Riba, Len predicted that Marchionne would use the brooch to reset the world to be with his loved ones once again. But Len had a condition for Marchionne: if he were to use it, he would be her test subject for her studies on human nature. Len knew that Marchionne's reincarnation, Mario, would one day return to Evangeline Town centuries later, and that he would be the subject of her tests. Len also gave the newlyweds Alice and Riba a music box as a gift, which would set the stage for Alice's cursing of the mansion and Evangeline, which would result in several deaths, and further set up the events of the series.

Revealing herself in ''ARC'''s Missing Ending C/Continuance 4 Ending, Len reveals that she has witnessed Mario die several times in multiple different points in time, revealing that each new save is a new world where Mario learns from his previous mistakes and survives a little bit longer. Gleefully revealing to Mario that he's died several times in the previous endings as part of her experiments, it turns out that every death the player suffers throughout these games is canon, and that no matter how hard Mario tries, he will never break the cycle. Upon Mario surviving an onslaught of her attacks, Len still murders him, feeling that this version of him is no longer needed for her experiment, and sends him down a pit. But Mario wakes up to find that the pit is filled with the corpses of... himself, the previous experiments who all died from the numerous, numerous deaths one can encounter throughout these games.

Becoming the true villain of the ''Wonderland'' DLC, while also taking the place of the Chesire Cat, it's revealed that Len worked with Marchionne to create the Wonderland dimension as a way to reincarnate his soul into his old world and gain ultimate power, despite the fact that it wasn't exactly what Marchionne wanted. Len has Marchionne remade into King Sündige Nacht, who's supposed death kickstarts the plot. Len uses Nacht to her liking, manipulating a series of tragedies such as driving the Mad Hatter to murderous insanity and allowing innocents to be executed for Nacht's supposed murder in order to further experiment on the population. For Marchionne to escape from this dimension, Mario would have to finish the game... which Len makes sure doesn't happen.

With many Marios dying during this entire time, which creates an endless cycle of Mario failing to succeed, in the Missing E Ending, Len removes Mario's voice after he's been arrested for Nacht's "murder", thus preventing him from speaking out during his trial and facing execution. When Marchionne expresses his disapproval over yet another failed attempt, Len has him killed, despite having promised to let Marchionne live, solely because she feels she's allowed to terminate an experiment as she pleases. In the Missing F Ending, after Nacht is killed by Mario, Len, refusing to end her experiment, manipulates Mario into taking possession of his crown and wishing to rule Wonderland, stating her anticipation of waiting for the cycle to be broken, but ready to enjoy every tragic moment of it until that happens.

Nope! Len is a vile witch who is willing to put many people through eternal suffering for the sake of experimenting on them, and is even willing to intervene in her own experiments if she feels they're not interesting enough.

The only somewhat nice thing she does is in an ending in ''ARC'' where, if the player doesn't save, the entire game's revealed to have been a coma dream Mario had after suffering a crash while karting. Len appears in her cat form to let Mario know that she doesn't need him for her experiments anymore, since he never had to save and thus never died once, thus she lets him go. But it's heavily implied through her dialogue that she only did this out of pragmatism; since she only values people as part of her experiment; the fact that she ominously says "So in other words... I don't need you" shows that this isn't meant to be an act of genuine altruism. Again, she doesn't see people as people, just test subjects in her labyrinth, so to her, letting Mario go means that he is just simply no longer needed for her experiments.

So the story, despite the weird premise, is played very straight. And there are some ''nasty'' villains in this game, but none of them count. Let's go over our three big ones, shall we?

* Alice Aduraice, despite being a psychopath responsible for cursing her mansion, behind several deaths out of either jealousy or an attempt to gain immortality, is abusive to her adopted daughter Anna with hopes of sacrificing her eventual child Serina, and has a plan that threatens the entire world, has had a pretty miserable childhood of being abused by her own horrible mother, she genuinely loves Riba despite being obsessive over him, and there's endings where she can pull a HeelFaceTurn after realizing the error of her ways, even showing regret for mistreating Anna.
* Riba, despite being a demon who ruined Marchinonne's life by killing him and his family for the sake of greed, corrupting Alice into the monster we know her as today, and is a massive dickhead, genuinely loved his previous wife Elizabeth and daughter Anna, realizes that he has genuine feelings for Marchionne, and also pulls a HeelFaceTurn in several of the endings.
* Marchionne Evangelisti, despite being responsible for a series of witch hunts with intent to wipe them all out, and is the BigBad of ''ARC'''s Insane Route, deeply cares for his brother Luciano, is a WellIntentionedExtremist, and has had a miserable childhood under his abusive parents who made him the religious KnightTemplar he is today.

Len, meanwhile, doesn't have an excuse for her deeds. She's just a sadistic MadScientist who only values people as part of her experiments. She's responsible for a lot of tragedies, from Marchionne's actions in the Insane Route, to the curse surrounding the Aduraice Mansion and Evangeline Town that's resulted in numerous deaths, to the macabre state of Wonderland, to the hundreds of deaths Mario's been through across hundreds of timelines.

The story involves Mario going to an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom, which is said to be cursed.
cursed, as many who enter it haven't returned.

Len knew that Marchionne's reincarnation, Mario, would one day return to Evangeline Town, and that he would be the subject for her tests. Len also gave the newlyweds Alice and Riba a music box as a gift, which would set the stage for Alice's cursing of the mansion and Evangeline, which would result in several deaths, and further set up the events of the series.

Revealing herself in ARC's Missing Ending C/Continuance 4 Ending, Len reveals that she has witnessed Mario die several times in multiple different points in time, revealing that each new save is a new world where Mario learns from his previous mistakes and survives a little bit longer.

Becoming the true villain of the ''Wonderland'' DLC, while also taking the place of the Chesire Cat, it's revealed that Len worked with Marchionne to create the Wonderland dimension as a way to reincarnate his soul into his old world, with Marchionne remade into King Sündige Nacht, who's supposed death kickstarts the plot.

When Marchionne expresses his disapproval over yet another failed attempt, Len has him killed, despite promising to let Marchionne live

willing to intervene in her own experiment for fun. In the Missing F Ending, once Marchionne is killed by Mario, Len manipulates Mario into taking possession of his crown and wishing to rule Wonderland, stating her anticipation of waiting for the cycle to be broken, but ready to enjoy every tragic moment of it until that happens.

Nope!

to:

Nope!

''VideoGame/MarioTheMusicBox'' is a very... fascinating fan game. It's basically what would happen if you make a game in the vein of ''VideoGame/CorpseParty'', ''VideoGame/MadFather'', and ''VideoGame/TheWitchsHouse''... but have it star Mario and Luigi, with a very dark plot and little in the way of humor.
