Semyon nearly forcibly puts Olga into the hospital for the last two weeks of her pregnancy, just in case, despite her insistence that everything would be fine. In the hospital, Olga suddenly panics, fearing that something may go bad with her pregnancy. Kisegach, after failing to convince her, just escorts her to their obstetrician. He calms Olga down, stating that due to her being young and healthy, everything would be fine... and then scares ''Kisegach'', stating that the same can't be said about her. But he assures them both that under his watch, everything would go fine: he has twenty years of experience, after all. Kisegach ultimately calms down, knowing that Bykov would be present when the time comes... but Olga starts feeling that it's her who needs Bykov being present, cause she can't trust Semyon (due to ''him'' being too nervous). But Lobanov, when told, insists that he ''must'' be near Olga himself. But Bykov, who was ready to call Semyon out on being a coward, asks him wether he's ''indeed'' ready. Lobanov insists that he is, and goes to Olga... only for Bykov to soon receive a call: Semyon had fainted right in the ward.

* GilliganCut: Semyon tells Bykov that he goes to the nursery to watch other women giving birth, so he would be ready for his wife's delivery. When asked wether he's sure this is a good idea, he states that he has iron will. Cut to a nurse calling Bykov and saying that Semyon just fainted; Semyon can be seen on background, lying on the gurney without any move, only to drop from it when Bykov finishes talking.
* InventedIndividual: Bykov creates the "surgeon Pichugin" for his [[TheBet bet]] with Phil (to test wether people would pay for a collective present for some strangers). When Phil realises that Bykov is actually close to winning, he starts questioning people how that "Pichugin" even looks like; with varying degree of success, everyone states an excuse why they can't remember, but ''everyone'' insists that they do know him.
* NoEnding: Phil's plot ends with everyone finally arriving at the "birthday party" for [[InventedIndividual Pichugin]], only to find that he doesn't exist, and embarrassed Phil. Scene cuts off before we learn how Phil would deal with the situation.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: When Gleb [[ItMakesSenseInContext admits that he tried to smuggle a stripper into the hospital]], Bykov punishes him... and Rita, who previously tried to cover for him.

** This is actually why Olga wants ''Bykov'' presented near her during delivery instead of Semyon, expecting him to panic and make her even more nervous as result. However, when she tells about this idea to Semyon, her, clearly being offended by her mistrust, insists on being presented anyway.

Phil refuses, stating that he doesn't know this doctor, and this is not the first and not even the second time Bykov does this; Phil refuses to pay for the birthday party for someone he doesn't know or care about. When Bykov tries to point out that they previously paid in the same manner for ''his'' birthday, Phil counters this by pointing out that firstly, he didn't ask for this, and secondly, they gifted him ten litres of whisky... which Bykov then drank by himself anyway. Bykov then insists that this is an old Russian "tradition", to collect money for birthday presents ("pay for your friends, and expect that they would pay for you"), and suggests a way to prove it: they would create a fake person (surgeon Pichugin), and Phil would see how ''everyone'' would happily give money for his birthday, despite not even knowing him. Phil would collect the money. In the case Bykov turns out to be wrong, Phil may keep his money. Phil agrees.

Phil, as the last ditch attempt to prevent Bykov from winning, starts questioning people how that "Pichugin" even looks like; no one manages to provide an adequate answer, but they still assures him that they ''certainly'' knows him.

Gleb tries to smuggle Oksana again, with the same results as before. Realising that he can't risk being busted the third time, Gleb just asks Rita to cover for him, and organises everything right here. She reluctantly agrees, on condition that Gleb would "dance" for her later. Unfortunately, due to mistake, the ''other'' guys receives a stripper instead, and Gleb fails to convince Oksana to stay any longer.

Olga tells Semyon about her idea to invite Bykov to being near her during delivery, but Semyon vehemently refuses, stating that he ''must'' be near her himself.

After visiting the Surgery, Rita finally learns that Pichugin doesn't exist, and goes, alongside everyone else, to confront Phil. Now, it's up to Phil to explain about the bet...

* PetTheDog: Gleb's patient's friends planned a surprise for him (a stripper in nurse disguise), but it was ruined. Gleb promises them to throw a bachelor party right here, in the hospital, which would require him to stay on the night shift. To do so, he just tells Bykov about the whole plan, which, given what Bykov previously mistook said stripper for the actual nurse ''twice'', unsurprisingly leads to him being punished.
