** The second is when Sheppard catches up with Ford, and shoots him in the leg. Despite what Hollywood tends to portray, aiming for the leg is a very bad idea as taking a hit to the femoral artery could cause the target to bleed out much faster than a center mass shot, provided it hits at all with how much smaller a target the leg is. While Sheppard did fall victim to this [[Recap/StargateAtlantisS01E03HideAndSeek once before]], it could be excused here because Ford is hopped up on the Wraith enzyme, and thus is far less likely to bleed out.

** The first is after Beckett removes the tracker from Ronon, and the latter disappears when the former and Teyla’s backs are turned. Beckett grabs an M4, and knowing nothing about weapons, puts his finger on the trigger. While this does violate one of the four rules of firearm safety, it illustrates perfectly how out of his element Beckett is.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Caldwell angrily calls out Sheppard for not killing Ford at the end of the episode. If he had, the Wraith wouldn't have captured him and now Ford wouldn't be in a position to divulge the survival of Atlantis under interrogation (though as Sheppard counters, he and Rodney had already ''both'' shot Ford and it didn't even slow him down).

Teyla and Sheppard eventually come to, in the company of Ronon Dex, a former member of the Satedan military. Between bouts of [[ImplacableMan implacability]] and veiled threat, he explains that he was once captured by the Wraith. When they were unable to feed off of him, they implanted a tracking device on his back and released him as a "runner" - a human who constantly flees while they hunt him for sport. He has since gotten fairly adept at hunting them in return.
