* MacGyvering: Improvising solutions out of what you have on hand is the theme of the episode; first, Manny, lacking any hooks for his fishing rod, realizes that he can use a picture-hanging hook instead of a fishhook, and later in the episode Manny, in the absence of any proper spare parts, uses a horseshoe to make a new latch for the gate to Francisco's horse pasture.

Added DiffLines:

* HiddenDepths: This is subverted when Mr. Lopart claims to have been a cowboy and earned the nickname "Lasso Lopart"... and then his "photographic proof" of this is a picture of himself as a little kid, riding a rocking horse and lassoing a stuffed sheep.

Skateboard Park

Mayor Rosa calls Manny to put up "No Skateboarding" signs in the town park, but after running into a skateboarding Elliot, Manny comes up with an idea that will keep the skateboarders happy while still solving the problem that made Mayor Rosa want to ban skateboarding in the park in the first place.

!!"Skateboard Park" contains examples of:
* AccidentalAimingSkills: Pat manages to have these when the tools are trying to launch washers into a jar by using a ruler as a miniature SeesawCatapult (ItMakesSenseInContext)- he hammers the other end of the ruler far, far too hard, causing the washer to overshoot the jar, ricochet wildly around Manny's shop, and eventually land back in the jar.
* BrickJoke: Early in the episode, Mr. Lopart mentions that he's going to skateboard around the park with a box of candy to be hip to the kids, yo. At the end of the episode, after Manny's built a skateboard ramp in the park, Mr. Lopart shows up on his skateboard, and somehow manages to successfully use the ramp.
* ContinuityNod:
** Elliot skateboards, as established in "Elliot Minds The Store".
** Mr. Lopart attempting to appeal more to kids is behavior continued from the last episode.
* InstantlyProvenWrong: This happens when Elliot tries to convince Mayor Rosa that skateboarders aren't causing any problems in the park.
-->Elliot: But we're soooo careful.\\
//Cameron skates into view and instantly falls off his skateboard//
* KnewItAllAlong: Cameron claims this after Manny tells him that the structure he built is a skateboard ramp.
* PinballProjectile: When the tools are trying to launch washers into a jar (ItMakesSenseInContext), a washer Pat launches end up ricocheting all around Manny's shop, bouncing off Turner's head, and landing in the jar.
* SeesawCatapult: The episode's opening has the tools using an improvised miniature one (with a ruler as the "seesaw" and a bolt as the fulcrum) to try and fling washers into a jar for their amusement.
* TotallyRadical:
** Mr. Lopart provides an in-universe case of this, as he tries to skateboard around the park and sell candy to kids.
** For a more straightforward example, the episode introduces (sort-of; he'd appeared as Sam's assistant in "Piñata Party", but this is the first time he's referred to by name and depicted with any sort of individual personality) Elliot's friend Cameron, who speaks with the same bad slang that Elliot does.

Cowboy Manny

Manny receives a call from his old friend Francisco inviting him to come down to his ranch and relax for a day; he accepts, but is soon confronted by a broken latch on a gate; he doesn't have the replacement parts required to fix it, and Kelly's store is miles away...

!!"Cowboy Manny" has instances of the following tropes:
* BusmansHoliday: Manny goes to Francisco's ranch purely to relax and spend time with an old friend, but ends up having to replace the latch on his gate after it breaks.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Pat does this after Rusty casts the hook on Manny's fishing rod into a closet and pulls out Fixit with it.
-->Pat: That is the strangest-looking fish I've ever seen.
* MeaningfulName: One of Francisco's horses is named Estrella ("star" in Spanish), after a star-shaped spot on her side.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Francisco, the owner of a horse ranch out in the countryside, is apparently an old pal of Manny's.
* SarcasmBlind:
-->Pat: How about we keep the gate closed with a rock!\\
Turner: Yeah, that's a really great idea.\\
Pat: You really think so?\\
Turner: No.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Francisco's cowgirl assistant Shelly is this for Kelly; she looks exactly like her except for being a brunette, and apparently has a similar ability to always have exactly what he needs on hand. This is briefly Lampshaded when Francisco says to her the same PhraseCatcher phrase Kelly usually gets ("You always have exactly what we need.") and Manny's tools all look at each other.
* ThirdTimesTheCharm: There are three suggestions for what Manny could use in place of a fishing hook (a bent paperclip courtesy of Felipe, a candy cane suggested by Squeeze, and a picture hook suggested by Dusty) and three suggestions for what Manny could use to keep Francisco's gate closed when the latch is broken (a stick brought by Squeeze, a rock courtesy of Pat, and a horseshoe Shelly happens to drop). Both times, the third suggestion is the one Manny goes with, and both times it ends up working out.
