Stranded on a foreign planet, the alien known only as E.T. makes contact with the local civilisations. Moving in with a trio of siblings -- Elliot, Michael and Gertie -- who hide him from their parents, E.T. and his newfound friends must figure out a way to get back to his planet and his people.
