That’s an amusing typo to me, but now I must send it to the shadow realm.

* ThisIsReality: Darkwing meets a CaptainErsatz of James Bondhe may actually be based on a Bond parody called Flint named Derek Blunt, who turns out to be very different from the way he is portrayed in the movies. In particular, he is unimpressed by and dismissive of Darkwing's various gadgets, calling them "gimmicks" and declaring that a true agent works with what he can find. Darkwing, a fan of the movies, is disappointed by the reality of the situation, but, as is typical of these stories, they end up as friends anyway by the end of the episode.

* ToothyBird: Sharp is a more extreme example. His teeth are pointed compared to the squared teeth that most of the show has.

* GPSEvidence: The sand on Sharp's note allows Darkwing and presents a grain of sand as their only clue to a case. All of his chemical tests can only reveal that it is indeed a grain of sand, so Blunt tastes it and says that it could only have come from one of several hundred islands... but only one didn't have a plant that the villain was deathly allergic to track him to a specific beach. growing there indigenously.

Not necessarily. Overly complicated methods of killing your archenemy are a supervillain tradition.

* ShoutOut: Blunt and his adventures are clearly a reference to James Bond.

Darkwing teams up with agent Derek Blunt to retrieve a list of SHUSH agents before it is auctioned off to the highest bidder. The problem? Blunt despises "gimmicks" and disdains Darkwing for using them.
!!This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
* ActorRoleConfusion: A variation; despite J. Gander's warnings that the real Derek Blunt isn't quite like the character from the movies, Darkwing keeps expecting him to be and mentioning things from the films. This makes sure he and Blunt stay on the wrong foot for some time, because Blunt hates the films.
* AllJustADream: Darkwing tells Blunt he's been in worse positions while the two of them are shackled into Sharp's death trap. However, he then adds he usually wakes up before he figures out how to escape.
* AllThereInTheManual: The wavy-headed duck at Sharp's gathering is Anna Matronic, an antagonist who was DummiedOut and only appeared in other media, not in the show.
* BerserkButton: Blunt hates the films that were loosely based off his career, considering them rubbish. It doesn't help their efforts to work together that Darkwing is a big fan of the movies and keeps mentioning them.
* TheBigBoard: When Blunt asks if he has a map, Darkwing shows him a huge one that occupies one wall of his lair. He is flabbergasted when Blunt draws on it with a marker.
* CreatorCameo: Tad Stones provided the voice of Hammerhead during this appearance.
* Crossover: The episode featured cameos from several WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 villains, including Magica [=DeSpell=].
* DeathTrap: Sharp, like any respectable antagonist in a Bond spoof, leaves Blunt, Darkwing, and Launchpad in a complicated trap rather than just shooting them.
* DinnerDeformation: One photo J. Gander shows Darkwing of an agent killed by whoever has the list has a snake with a suspiciously avian-looking series of bumps in it.
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: One of the SHUSH agents killed by whoever has the list apparently ended up in a pet food can, implying a rather gory demise.
* FondMemoriesThatCouldHaveBeen: While he and Darkwing are waiting in the death trap, Blunt laments that he's going to die never having had anybody or anything besides the trashy films based off his autobiography.
* GPSEvidence: The sand on Sharp's note allows Darkwing and Blunt to track him to a specific beach.
* IWorkAlone: Derek Blunt first enters opposing J. Gander's plan to send Darkwing in with him, reminding him that he doesn't like partners. When he sees Launchpad for the first time, he criticizes Darkwing for needing someone else to fly the plane and remarks contemptuously that he didn't need a sidekick during his own career.
* IronicEcho: Sharp leaves a note with "Gotcha" where Darkwing and Blunt expect to find the list of agents. Then, after Darkwing successfully swaps the list with another just before the sale, he and Blunt both tell Sharp "gotcha."
* KillItWithIce: Two SHUSH agents are shown as having been murdered by being frozen in yogurt.
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Darkwing is gleeful when J. Gander announces that S.H.U.S.H. intends Derek Blunt to work with him on the project. He has apparently seen all the movies about him, tries his hardest to impress him and only begins getting irritated when Blunt continually (and insultingly) brushes off his best efforts.
* MadnessMantra: After Blunt circles the location of Phineas Sharp on his big map, all Darkwing can say for the rest of the scene is a stunned "He drew on my map."
* OhWaitThisIsMyGroceryList: Phineas Sharp is beaten when he tries to auction off a list of spy information but Darkwing manages to swap it with a grocery list. The supervillain audience is not amused.
* SaunaOfDeath: A variant; Launchpad's part of the death trap (which is meant to set off Blunt and Darkwing's) is a steamer. While Sharp saw it mostly as part of the device to kill his nemesis, it's implied (especially from Blunt and Darkwing's panicked reactions when they remember they left him in it) that it would have killed him eventually.
* SecurityCling: Launchpad and Blunt grab ahold of each other when Darkwing loses control of his foliage-clearing device and it runs riot around the area, getting close enough to slice into their clothing.
* ShoutOut: Blunt and his adventures are clearly a reference to James Bond.
* SomethingWeForgot: While Darkwing and Blunt are making up at the end, Darkwing suddenly realizes they forgot to let Launchpad out of the steamer that was his part of the death trap. They immediately run back to the room and discover that he's fine, although the steam shrunk him to about a foot high.
