* AlmightyJanitor: Bezel himself is an old man raking leaves for the university. He can do whatever he wants with magic, which he's long since gotten bored of, so he prefers to entertain people with stage magic. He could have easily stopped Charmcaster at any time, but only helped Ben, Rook, Kevin, and Zedd get past her forcefield before allowing Charmcaster to turn him into a totem.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: Trapped in Charmcaster's bag, where magic can't be used, Gwen uses her lipstick to draw a trap rune on the floor, which upon being touched by Charmcaster, will use her still-external magic to drag her inside.
* ScaledUp: Charmcaster turns herself into a dragon for her climactic battle against Ben.
* SleightOfHandiness: Ben and Skurd perform a sleight of hand to trick Charmcaster into thinking Ben has magic. When she checks her bag for the totem they stole, it activates Gwen's trap and pulls her into her own bag.
