* MoralityPet: Subverted. A young boy named John attempts to befriend Cavil. Cavil seems to be warming up to him, but immediately after agreeing that they're now friends, Cavil stabs the boy to death, telling him "friends are dangerous things to have."

* DirtyOldMan: Cavil makes out with Boomer after ordering her to kill Adama, and also sleeps with "Tough Six".

* DemotedToExtra: Laura Roslin is conspicuously absent from this movie, appearing only briefly towards the end and even then only as a pair of legs on a ladder. This is particularly jarring during the replayed scene of the Cavils in the brig from "Lay Down Your Burdens Part II" as she was present in the original version but no shots of her appear here.

* ThePowerOfLove: Tough Six points out to Fleet Cavil in the ReasonYouSuckSpeech below that all of their compatriots' failures (except Doral's) have been due to love in one way or another, concluding with, "You can't declare war on love." Also, Caprica Simon quickly notices that Anders loves Starbuck, Anders and Caprica Cavil discuss how Anders loved all his friends who died and still loves them after they're gone, and one of the Hybrid's utterances during the sneak attack on the Colonies is, "Love outlasts death".

He heads over to ''Galactica'' and takes up work as a priest in the ship's chapels. He hands out flyers to interested civilians and eventually reunites with many of the Cylon infiltrators, including Shelly, another Six, a copy of Leoben and a Doral copy. Cavil muses over how the plan hasn't entirely worked, and that they will have to work together to sabotage the fleet.

Shelly airlocks herself from ''Galactica'' after speaking about her failure with Cavil, and Leoben sees visions of Kara on New Caprica and her death while being interrogated onboard the ''Gemenon Traveler'' before he's airlocked too.
