* FixFic: The plot attempts to make sense of the Cylons' actions over the course of the series and work it into a semi-coherent narrative, after the production team was accused by fans of not answering the most important questions about the Cylons' plan for the fleet. To be fair, the "They Have a Plan" tagline shown since the first episode of the series hadn't been the showrunners' idea to begin with; ExecutiveMeddling insisted on including it.[[invoked]]

* DemotedToExtra: Laura Roslin is conspicuously absent from this movie, appearing only briefly towards the end and even then only as a pair of legs on a ladder. This is particularly jarring during the replayed scene of the Cavils in the brig from "Lay Down Your Burdens Part II" as she was present in the original version but no shots of her appear here.

Added DiffLines:

* NotSoOmniscientAfterAll: In seasons one and two, both the Colonial characters and audience assumed the Cylons were one step ahead at all times and their plots were part of some intricate plan to destabilize and destroy the fleet. The movie reveals there was no real plan; Cavil had assumed no humans would survive the destruction of the Colonies and every plot afterwords was a hastily organized attack that Cavil came up with on the fly.

* ThePowerOfLove: Tough Six points out to Fleet Cavil in the ReasonYouSuckSpeech below that all of their compatriots' failures (except Doral's) have been due to love in one way or another, concluding with, "You can't declare war on love." Also, Caprica Simon quickly notices that Anders loves Starbuck, Anders and Caprica Cavil discuss how Anders loved all his friends who died and still loves them after they're gone, and one of the Hybrid's utterances during the sneak attack on the Colonies is, "Love outlasts death".

He hands out flyers to interested civilians and eventually reunites with many of the Cylon infiltrators, including Shelly, another Six, a copy of Leoben and a Doral copy. Cavil muses over how the plan hasn't entirely worked, and that they will have to work together to sabotage the fleet.
