On May 1st of 2014, Area 11 had officially released Homunculus for free download on Dropify.[[note]]Although you need a Facebook account to get it.[[/note]] The band has gone on their first tour, the aptly named 'The Ichi Tour', and are preparing to go on their second tour, aptly called the 'The Ni Tour'.

Area 11 has recently announced the release date of the Underline EP, their second EP to date, to be November 1st. The band has promoted the EP by playing some of their newer songs from the EP live during 'The Ichi Tour'.

Their second EP[[note]]which is also their third release[[/note]] is currently untitled. Seeing as how the video was recorded on March 25th, specifically in the morning, the band may be even further along than halfway at this point.

* Luke Owens: Guitar, backup vocals (2010-2012, left due to creative differences although the band have confirmed they're still on good terms)
* Tim Yearsley: Bass guitar (2011-2011, left for reasons unknown, though he was possibly only a temporary member)

** LetsPlay/Simon Lane, aka Honeydew, appears in the first episode of GIGACRAFT. [[spoiler:He gets killed off not long after being introduced, prompting Sparkles* to flee as his boss is dead and he fears he'll be held responsible.]]

Their debut album, ''All The Lights in The Sky'' was released on January 31st 2013. Half the band[[note]]Specifically, Sparkles* and Parv.[[/note]] are members of the LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}} where they do video and sound editing, and this fact certainly hasn't hurt them getting their name out. They are also signed to a record label made by the Yogscast, Yogscast Studios, who helped them release their debut album onto iTunes. Before then, they released their work on their [=BandCamp=], but after releasing their debut album they chose to remove their EP, ''Blackline Complete'' from the site, due to each of the songs being re-recorded for ''All The Lights in The Sky''.

* BreakingTheFourthWall: There's a really, REALLY slight one in "GO!! Fighting Action Power", during one part where the music changes - "Don't give up, you gottta achive your dreams - if you don't, don't sue us, it's a cartoon theme!". The real reason it actually breakes the fourth wall is essential because GOFAP is the Bravoman animated series ending song.

* TheCameo: [[LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}} Simon Lane, aka Honeydew]] appears in the first episode of GIGACRAFT. [[spoiler:He gets killed off not long after being introduced, prompting Sparkles* to flee as his boss is dead and he fears he'll be held responsible.]]

* LetsPlay: They are members of the LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}}, and upload videos of their gameplay to their Website/YouTube [[http://www.youtube.com/user/area11band channel]].

* TitleTrack: The fourth movement of "Bōsōzoku Symphonic" would be this for ''All The Lights In The Sky'', if it weren't for the fact that all five movement names [[AllThereInTheManual can only be found]] on the {{Yogscast}} wiki.

They have also created the ending theme for the ''VideoGame/{{Bravoman}}'' animated series, titled "GO!! Fighting Action Power".

* [[RealMenWearPink Sparkles*]] (Tom Clarke): Lead vocals, keytar, keyboards, synths, acoustic guitar (2010-present)

* DoingItForTheArt: The reason that they added in AutoTune to Heaven-Piercing Giga Drill in its 2013 singles re-release; they wanted to emulate several Japanese rock artists.

* HeyItsThatVoice: In "System;Start", the voices of [[LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}} Strippin]] and Creator/{{KaeyiDream}} can be heard. It's confirmed on the commentary track that they were handy in Yogtowers when the mixing was being done.

* ScheduleSlip: GIGACRAFT has been afflicted with a case of this, albeit not terminally yet. Episodes one to four were each released a day apart starting at the end of April, with no sign of the fifth.
* SelfDeprecation: The band often mocks itself for supposed "ego issues" and for being a bit too nerdy, albeit outside most of their songs. Quite a few of the pictures on the band's Twitter show them goofing off, playing [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Pokémon]] when they should be working, for instance.

* AutoTune: Present in the singles re-release of "Heaven-Piercing Giga Drill". A comment from the band on their video for it says it's a case of DoingItForTheArt, not because Sparkles* cannot sing (hear the older versions for proof of that).

* OneOfUs: The lyrics of the majority of their songs reference anime (with beautiful subtlety), and they've done a couple of non-album songs that reference video games. They also, on their [[http://www.youtube.com/user/area11band Youtube account]], do [[LetsPlay Let's Plays]], with some of the ones they've done being ''VideoGame/TombRaider'', ''TheWitcher2'' and ''VideoGame/ValkyriaChronicles''.
** In addition to that, Sparkles* is a fan of LetsPlay/PewDiePie.

* ButtMonkey: Parv is one for the Yogscast in general; in terms of the actual band, Leo takes this role.

* HeyItsThatVoice: In "System;Start", the voices of [[LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}} Strippin]] and [[LetsPlay/InTheLittleWood Kaeyi]] can be heard. It's confirmed on the commentary track that they were handy in Yogtowers when the mixing was being done.

* BSide: Both "Shi No Barado" and "Go!! Fighting Action Power" have B-sides, the former being a re-recorded old song of theirs, "The Legendary Sannin", and the latter, a beautiful piano version of "Heaven-Piercing Giga Drill".

* CoverVersion: Shi No Barado was released in unison with several versions:
** One by Superpowerless.
** Another by IFightDragons.
** And one by the band themselves, but in [[TranslatedCoverVersion Japanese]].
** Yet another one, combining the vanilla and Japanese versions, was released online a while after the single's debut.

* LostForever: Blackline/Blackline 「COMPLETE」 . Well, the songs can still be easily found online, but after being taken down from BandCamp, they can no longer be obtained. By legal methods, at least.

* ShoutOut: Damn near every song is one lyrically (All but "Cassandra, Pt.2, at least on the album), but the most notable example might be naming their first album, ''All The Lights In The Sky'' after the second TengenToppaGurrenLagann movie, ''The Lights in the Sky Are Stars''.
