* ''WesternAnimation/PigletsBigMovie'': In the "Expotition to the North Pole" flashback, Roo falls into the river and calls out to Pooh; but Pooh mistakes his calls as his tummy talking to him.
-->'''Roo:''' Pooooooh?!\\
'''Pooh:''' ''(giggles)'' I just fed my tummy and it's still calling me! ''(giggles again)''\\
'''Roo:''' Hey, look at me, Pooh!\\
'''Pooh:''' I ''am.''\\
'''Roo:''' Pooh, I'm swimming!\\
'''Pooh:''' Just a moment, Roo. I'm talking to my tummy. Of ''course'' you're swimming! You shouldn't have had that second cookie.\\
'''Piglet:''' That's not your stomach, Pooh! It's Roo!

Alice is out of sight (under a desk, behind a screen, etc) and for some reason is talking to herself. Bob enters the room and hears talking. Looking around, Bob spots a cell phone / mannequin / sleeping person / inanimate object and assumes that it is the object doing the talking.

This trope describes any situation in which a character is speaking, and other characters believe the voice is coming from another person or an inanimate object, and ''this was not the intention of the person speaking.'' If the speaker achieved this effect deliberately, then it's just an example of ordinary {{Ventriloquism}}. Compare MultitaskedConversation, CorrelationCausationGag.

when a character is careful disclosing information to a hidden character while conversing with another, and CorrelationCausationGag, when a small action correlates to a bigger action, with the former being mistaken as the cause.
