''Literature/DiaryOfTheNaughtiestGirl'' is a children's novel by Jeanne Willis. It is a modern reimagining of Enid Blyton's ''Literature/TheNaughtiestGirl'' first book, told in diary form by Elizabeth.
The main story remains the same: Elizabeth Allen is a spoilt brat who is sent to Whyteleafe boarding school after her parents decide to go abroad and her governess/nanny gives in her notice. Elizabeth rebels as much as possible and resolves to get herself expelled, but soon discovers that she actually enjoys her time at school.

Many of the characters are reimaginings of the original characters, but many of them have been renamed to fit the era and there are several differences made.

!! This novel provides examples of:
* AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil: Almost everything except classes is decided by the monitors and Head Boy and Girl.
* BoardingSchool: The whole point.
* CoolBigSis/CoolBigBro: The Head Girl and Boy of the school. Head Girl Rebekah especially functions as this for Elizabeth. She's just about the only person Elizabeth doesn't nickname in her diary.
*HeterosexualLifePartners: Elizabeth and Mousie become close very fast.
* InSeriesNickname: A lot. The most notable examples are "Elizabeth The Worst" for Elizabeth (replacing the original novels "Bold Bad Girl"), and "Mousie" for Joanna Townsend.
* PuppyLove: It's pretty obvious that J.T and Elizabeth are crushing on each other, but they constantly hide it by claiming affection for the work they do on the school garden together.
* SuspiciousSpending: Shauna treats Elizabeth's spending as this. Elizabeth shouldn't have spent the money, but she was so excited at the idea of being able to give Mousie an amazing birthday that she'd spent it all by the time she remembered.
