* Tenchi's aversion to anything sexual never made any sense. It's reasonable to think certain factors like being related to Ayeka(incest is frowned upon on Earth...for the most part), Sasami being a child as well as a relative or Ryoko and/or Washu's downright predatory behavior would put him off but even Mihoshi? She was good to go and Tenchi was, what, 15? By extension, the whole asexual protagonist trope in anime has always been confusing.

* Was Yuzuha from the "Daughter of Darkness" film really NotEvilJustMisunderstood like she claimed? Or was she the purely evil monster the Juraians claimed her to be? It seems hard to tell either way.

** She was pretty much just playing around, according to WordOfGod.

* In the OVA, Ryoko mentions watching Tenchi (via a form of astral projection) as a kid while still imprisoned in the cave, with no signs of hostility towards him. When they meet face to face for the first time at Tenchi's school, however, the first thing Ryoko does is vent out her frustration for being locked away for seven centuries by trying to kick Tenchi's ass. Did Ryoko fail to recognize who Tenchi was, or was this some sort of test to see if he was worth her time?

Is Ayeka's skin some kind of mood ring? So far, her skin tones have included gray for battle, pink for drunk, orange for angry, and normal. This trait doesn't seem to be shared by anyone, even Sasami, who's consistently pale.

** [[SubbingVersusDubbing She has a British accent?]] All kidding aside, it's probably more an attempt to show her more formal manner of speech.

* A minor nitpick that has been bothering this troper for a ''very'' long time. (since the days of toonami). Everyone in Ayeka's family, from Yosho, to her father, to her mother, to Yosho's mother, to her little sister...why is it Ayeka has a british accent but no one else does?!

** If you look at the art books that Kajishima-sensei released, you will realize that Noike actually existed long before Kiyone was created

* Kajishima doesn't own the rights to the character. She was originally written for Naoko Hasegawa's tie-in novels. Not to mention her character really doesn't fit with [[BunnyEarsLawyer the OAV version of Mihoshi.]]

Hi guys. Something that bothered me about the series was the character of Noike. She was basically a less human looking version of Kiyone. Why couldn't they have just wrote in Kiyone? They can certainly have two Kiyones in one series, they already have two Ryokos.

* It's annoying when someone hides behind the old [[AllThereInTheManual 'well, you just need to read the supplementary material']] excuse when someone brings up criticisms of OVA 3. We don't disapprove of this series because we have trouble understanding what's going on (the backstory doesn't explain some important elements anyway, like Misaki being the counteractor) we don't like the series because it flat out terrible at telling a coherent story.

** I'm just annoyed I don't have easy access to the supplemental information. After reading much of the information, it makes sense. Without it, it's rather confusing.
** Even though I didn't care for OAV 3, I can understand why some people don't take criticism of it very seriously. When it first came out, it was hard to separate the people with legitimate criticisms from the "he didn't pick Ryoko! WAHHH WAHHH!!!" croud.

* I'm annoyed that the only counter argument that the Fandumbs can come up with is " No, you don't like the series because you wanted another ''Tenchi Universe'' and didn't get it. If you had read the supplemental material, you would have known that going in." The 3rd OVA was just poorly told regardless and no story should have to count on the audience to read any supplemental materials. IT WAS POORLY TOLD. Kajishima is the George Lucas to Tenchi Muyo.

This is a series that, from day one, has run on AllThereInTheManual, GodModeSue, and RelationshipSue to some extent or another, and people are only now finding it to be a problem? Oh, right, you wanted the OTHER RelationshipSue to win. Really, it almost counts as a crowner that Kajishima got ANYTHING back on the air after the clusterfuck the TV and movies made of things (you think OVA 3 counts as poorly received, go see how well the movies went over with the fanbase).

Everything that needed to be understood to enjoy the story was there. Characters weren’t just introduced and vanished with no prior foreshadowing or at the very least some decent characterization (Rea, Tennyo). Tenchi wasn’t considered a GodModeSue still after the whole God of Gods, which is the very staple of BoringInvincibleHero. And where did I mention anything about bringing about a resolution to the love triangle to enjoy the third OVA. Oh, and another Fandumb Fanboy don’t put words into my mouth so you can have an argument to stand on.

And considering the praise that is being heaped upon Kajishima's latest series, Seikishi Monotagari, I'd say that Kajishima, unlike Lucas, has gotten his touch back.
** I suppose so, looking back, maybe the George Lucas retort wasn't the best comparision. But what some should understand is that OVA 3 isn't just disliked because of the Tenchi/Whoever ShipCombat or lacking the supplementaries to get the most out of it. It did have... well a few hiccups compared to the first two. Misao's pointless love subplot, a flat and underdeveloped character being intergated into a cast of colorful characters, lack of tension. I'll stop, but you probaly get what I'm getting at.
