Seems just hypocritical, or like a cheap way to preserve the drama. Well, Jane's intimately familiar with "all magic has a price:" every time she changes into Thor, it purges the chemo drugs from her system, setting back her treatment, the "price" she pays for being Thor. If she were to accept magical healing, she'd not only have to pay for that, but the cost for circumventing the price the hammer demands.
