Example itself admits it was likely just a reference to both being done by LJN

* In his review for the Nightmare on Elm Street game, he briefly mentions how some of the music sounds like it's from the Roger Rabbit game. While it is likely just due to both games being produced by LJN and they just used the same music tunes (as The Nerd points out), it could have also been a weird in-joke, seeing as Creator/CharlesFleisher, the voice of Roger Rabbit, had a small role in the first Nightmare on Elm Street film.

* In the Bayou Billy crossover episode with Pat the NES Punk, after the Nerd dies for the umpteenth time, Pat speculates that he might be doing it on purpose and that the game isn't that hard.He finds out otherwise subsequently. Two years prior, in his making-of video, James states that he actually did purposely die in video games for some of his earliest videos. A very well-played MythologyGag, of sorts.

* In the R.O.B. review , R.O.B.'s prime objective is to eliminate every video game other than Gyromite or Stack-Up. Every. Video. Game. He visibly turned Sega Genesis games into Stack-Up on-screen. How many people's video game consoles became useless because they're not [=NESes=] and can't play any NES games? What would you do if you noticed your PC's Steam library turned into multiple copies of the same two old games overnight?

* In WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd Super Mario Bros. 3 review, Super Mecha Death Christ only shoots at the Nerd and tells him to watch his "FUCKIN' LANGUAAAAAAAGE!" when the Nerd exclaims "Holy shit!", not when the Nerd says "Oh, this shit? I'll tell you all about it." He's not upset about the word shit, but the sacrilege of calling it holy.
