* ''Film/FridayThe13thPartVIJasonLives'' includes a memorable scene where the camp counselors comfort a little girl named Nancy after she's woken up by a nightmare in the middle of the night. Since then, many fans have latched onto the theory that Nancy was actually being menaced by [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Freddy Krueger]] in her dreams, and that the scene was meant to hint that Freddy and Jason Voorhees exist in the same universe. This was seemingly bolstered by the fact that "Nancy" was the name of the protagonist of the original ''[[Film/ANightmareOnElmStreet1984 A Nightmare on Elm Street]]'', and that the producers of the ''Franchise/FridayThe13th'' movies '''were''' planning on a crossover with ''A Nightmare on Elm Street'' at the time (they'd initially wanted the crossover to be the next installment after ''Jason Lives'', but had to shelve the idea [[Film/FreddyVsJason until 2003]] because Creator/ParamountPictures and Creator/NewLineCinema [[ScrewedByTheLawyers couldn't work out the rights issues with the two franchises]]). Despite this, the filmmakers denied that the connection was intentional: Nancy was actually [[{{Tuckerization}} named after]] director Tom [=McNaughton=]'s wife.

** Notarile made another fan film, which depicts [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Freddy Krueger]] [[spoiler:captured by Pinhead sometime after his death in ''Film/FreddyVsJason''.
