** ''Comments'': Seconded by IslaFahlia. Honestly, it's surprising that it took this long for this fic to get up here. There have been a couple of issues as far as updates, but the story and plot is well worth the wait. Absolutely nothing like your usual DP/TT crossover, it plays on issues that usually get downsized and overlooked in both shows, particularly an AU case of [[spoiler: Danny supposedly being the cause of Cyborg's namesake status and Cyborg hating him ever since]]. There are so many twists and turns, the fic is never boring to read and will almost certainly brighten your mood when you just happen to see an update.

** {{Anthiens}}: Most notable for the more mature storylines as well as the utterly unique reinterpretations of the characters. Most notably, Danny can't save everybody, which is what actually leads to the Valerie situation. Though there are things that can turn off certain fans, it's a worthwhile and extremely original fanfic. Inspite of a far less sympathetic version of Masters, Vanessa grows on you and comes off eventually as just human as Vlad, if not nearly as sympathetic. (Pre-KS Vlad, anyway...) You would be hard put to find a more unique retake on Danny Phantom. It's also very, very long. Was on a LONG hiatus.

Also contains gratuitous {{fanservice}}, revealed by how all the female characters he writes are hot and useless or hot and evil, and described purely in terms of physical traits. The author really shows his stripes when he turns the show into a {{Harem Series}} with Sam, [[spoiler: Spectra, Ember, Valerie, and Paulina]], at one point or another, vying for Danny's attention.

Not only that, but the two form a fast friendship, even though she doesn't recognize him. This slowly leads him into a chain of events that slowly force Danny back out of the shadows he's tried so hard to hide in.
* ''Comments:'' I can honestly say that this is THE best piece of fanfiction I can ever remember reading yet. Thought-provoking and incredibly well-written, "Take a Look in the Mirror" is an incredible depiction of a darker version of the Danny Phantom world, as well as some of the more serious sides of being a hero. But what stands out by far in this fic is the emotional impact. The conversation between [[spoiler: Jazz and Alex]] in Chapter 8: Unexpected Turmoil [[spoiler: Where they talked indirectly about Danny and about why he ran away and why he wasn't revealing himself, both perfectly aware that the person they were talking about ''was him,'' had me in tears before I realized I was crying, as did Danny's conversation with Sam in the next chapter]]. Bit by bit, this story reveals pieces of the puzzle that answer one simple question: "What happened?" Then it drives forward to it's conclusion to answer a second: "What will happen?"

Myaibou, more than any author I've yet seen in the fandom, writes an intriguing scenario for what happens after Phantom Planet, and possibly one of the most accurate ones if Danny Phantom were real - with a country as likely to persecute a savior of the planet as thank him, all because he's different. The reality with which she writes the struggles and challenges of trying to mount a political campaign in the face of adversity (as well as several other problems that Danny's disappearance causes) is incredible, and when Myaibou added an original character to the mix, he integrated himself into the fold '''very''' nicely. This Troper found herself watery-eyed one moment, covering her mouth with laughter the next, then moments later gasping with shock at an unexpected revelation. And the epilogue is cute for its own sake. There's something about [[CrowningMomentofHeartwarming a floating drool-covered green teething ring]] that just makes you want to say "d'aww." A {{Darkfic}} of the best kind, quickly becoming {{Nightmare Fuel}} for this trouper. The ghosts are actually ghostly, and the evil is actually terrifying. Danny's powers have some ghoulish implications, and how ghosts are tied to this realm is explored in gritty detail. Manages to go heavy on the {{Darker and Edgier}} without getting into {{Wangst}} or {{Narm}}. Highly recommended. Slow updating, but doesn't seem to be a {{deadfic}} yet.
** Seconded by Magic246222. This story is truly amazing, proving once and for all {{Danny Phantom}} can not only be dark and depressing, but scary as hell. Thnking about what Danny is and what he has to do to survive is {{Nightmare Fuel}} in and of itself, and Cordria only adds to it with amazingly creepy and incredibly real descriptions. * ''Comments'': This synopsis does not do it justice; the story is far more complicated then that. It's split in five arcs and is a ''whooping'' 102 chapters, but only the first two arcs (mostly) are online. You must ask the original writer for the rest. '''VERY''' worth it. If you can get past the fact that it IS both [[MisterSeahorse Mpreg]] and [[NotSafeForWork '''not''' worksafe]] during certain points (it's rated "R", as a fair warning), you'll get an enticing tale that takes the typical pairing between Vlad and Danny and twists them in ways you'd never expect.
** Anthiens: {{Deconstruction}} of a crack pairing done dramatically is rare. Although the first story is quite excellent, it gets consistently better (in spite of what the writer claims). Also, the supplement stories can be hilarious, even if a little confusing and disjointed at times if you don't read the Live Journal entries.
** @/JBlaze: Seconded, although [[EvenTheDogIsAshamed I don't know if I should put my name next to this rec]]. Reading this was a total BileFascination, I admit. The author managed to do 90% of things I hate to see in romance fics, and I still read the entire thing, plus all the sequels and spin-offs. The author is great at keeping interest and tension, even if the plot is made of pure unadulterated {{Squick}} nine times out of ten.

Updates are slow, but it's not DeadFic, and be forewarned: this fic very much deserves the M rating it has on FF.net.

The author is openly homophobic, and it shows in his writing, author notes (he fears conversion, apparently) and the slurs he choose for the students of Casper High. His Danny slides into {{God Mode Sue}} territory with his [[spoiler: healing and close-immortality]]. Also contains gratuitous {{fanservice}}, revealed by how all the female characters he writes are hot and useless or hot and evil, and described purely in terms of physical traits. The author really shows his stripes when he turns the show into a {{Harem Series}} with Sam, [[spoiler: Spectra, Ember, Valerie, and Paulina]], at one point or another, vying for Danny's attention.
