Family is complicated. To ten year old Luz Noceda, this phrase is...an understatement. Multidimensional travel adds a whole layer of complexity to a blended family that her mami's old divorce pamphlets did NOT warn anyone about.

That being said, if she could survive high school and the gifted kids club, she can TOTALLY handle the accidental formation of a complicated found family centered around some...even more complicated misunderstandings.

What in titan's name could *possibly* go wrong?

* ForWantOfANail:
** Instead of Luz using the light glyph to disorient the Owl Beast enough so she and King can feed her one of Eda's elixirs, the Owl Beast voluntarily drinks an elixir after seeing Luz is injured, fully aware that Eda can heal her.
** Luz doesn't come up with the idea to pretend to be Willow's Abomination thanks to her aversion to school. Instead, she gives Willow the same seed Eda gave her as a good luck charm, and after Amity teased her for failing her Abomination exam, Willow accidentally caused the seed to cover a good chunk of the school with vines in anger, leading to Principal Bump transferring her to the Plant Track.
** Because Luz didn't go to Hexside with Willow, not only was she never banned, she didn't technically interact with Amity (who she initially called the "Mean Green Girl") until she ran into her at the Covention.
** While Amity still crushes King's cupcake to spite him and Luz, Luz doesn't challenge Amity to a witches duel. However, because Luz already didn't like her for picking on Willow, seeing her crush King's cupcake in addition to taking the ''Good Witch Azura'' book he was trying to get for her causes Luz to ''bite Amity's arm out of anger''. Despite this, Eda manages to defuse the situation, meaning she and Lilith never duel either. It's later revealed that there was a witch's duel between Willow and Amity, and the latter lost.
** When Eda goes out for more of her elixir, she lets Luz, Willow, and Gus hold a moonlight conjuring on the condition that the latter two look after Luz. Once they accidentally animate the Owl House, ''Willow'' is the one who tries to convince the other two to head back, only to be riled up by Amity’s Penstagram post, taking offense to the hashtag "Only #realwitches allowed", believing that Luz was being insulted for supposedly being half-human.
*** In addition, while Eda still loses King to Tibbles, [[spoiler:she transforms into the Owl Beast out of anger and kills him.]]
** Rather than pull pranks with Edric and Emira, Luz starts to get to know Amity more when she runs into her at the library, with Amity looking after Luz while [[ItMakesSenseInContext Katya goes on a long quest to get Luz a library card]]. This means that there is no misunderstanding between Luz and Amity, Katya is there to call out Edric and Emira for planning to show Amity’s diary to everyone at Hexside, and Otabin the Bookmaker is never brought to life by the Wailing Star’s magic.
** Since Luz was never banned from Hexside, Gus doesn't need to smuggle her in to present her to the Human Appreciation Society, meaning nobody ever gets sent to detention. However, Luz doesn't buy Matholomule's sob story and storms out of the club meeting, leading to her running into Amity and helping her with her schoolwork. When Boscha encounters the two and starts teasing them, Luz angrily bites Boscha's arm, but unlike what happened with Amity, she actually manages to draw blood. Luz also manages to discover the plant glyph second, and before she even gets accepted to Hexside in the first place.
** Eda sends Luz out to play with Owlbert while she tries to rest when her curse comes up, only for Luz to encounter a monster in the forest, needing to be saved by the Bat Queen. While King and Eda (in her Owl Beast form) still get captured by animal control, Lilith and Nora arrive to help them escape.
** Katya is the one to be offered a deal by Piniet, though unlike King, she doesn’t fall for his trick, but when he starts to get assertive, Derwin and Amber bail her out [[spoiler:before Eda kills him]].
** King, Raine, Katya, Amber, and Derwin join Eda and Luz on their camping trip to the Knee. In addition, Luz doesn't have to scramble to learn a new form of magic to avoid being put in the baby class thanks to already knowing two spells, so Eda's wanting to help her learn a new spell is more a spur of the moment decision. While Luz does encounter Amity and her siblings, she doesn't get a chance to use the training wand and accidentally upset the Slitherbeast. Finally, by virtue of having already discovered the plant glyph, the ice glyph ends up being the third glyph Luz discovers.
** Luz only chosen four tracks to study, Plant, Beast Keeping, Bard, and Potions.

* AdaptationalSexuality: Lilith is shown to be interested in girls like Nora, as opposed to canonically being asexual. [[ZigZaggingTrope Zig-Zagged]], as Lilith still isn’t as comfortable with intimacy as most people.

* BrainBleach: After Eda sees Lilith making out with her old friend Nora, Eda begs Raine to erase her entire memory.
