There's a lack of consistency here, Cable's identity as the son of Scott and Madelyne is right there in his description, which cannot be hidden as it is outside of the trope list, making it pointless to hide his identity within the trope list. Further, a spoiler that has become common knowledge in the mainstream is no longer considered a spoiler, like Darth Vader being Luke's father, and Cable's being Scott and Madelyne (and sorta Jean Grey's) kid has been an open fact for quite some time. Even assuming that we are dealing with a new viewer who has never touched comics before, the original X-Men animated series is no longer airing and the new '97 series reveals the fact that he's their child the moment he appears. Therefore, I do not believe this is something that can be considered a spoiler.

* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: [[spoiler: While both versions had Madelyne Pryor as their birth mother, the comic version of Cable considers Jean to be his real mother ([[HappilyAdopted as she raised him]]) and would choose to save her over Madelyne in a heartbeat. This version is far more connected to Madelyne due to the psychic message she implanted in him expressing her love and he starts out rejecting Jean. He gradually accepts that, since Jean has all of Madelyne's memories and feels the same love for him that she did, she's his mother too.]]

* MommasBoy: [[spoiler:He deeply loves his mother Madelyne and it eats him alive that no matter how many times he tried he couldn't save her during the Genoshan genocide. He resists it for awhile, but eventually extends that same affection to Jean.]]
* MysteriousPast: Jean manages to get a scan of his mind at one point (and for once, ''doesn't'' immediately faint) and gets several fragmentary glimpses, including one of what looks like her and Cyclops. Whether his backstory is quite as complicated as the comics was unknown, but Jean learns that he's important to their future. Cable also bitterly mentions that while he knows little about the X-Men as a whole, he does know about Cyclops and Jean Grey. [[spoiler:''X-Men '97'' settles this with the birth of Scott and Madelyne Pryor's son, who has to be sent to the future in an attempt to cure him from Sinister's techno-organic virus. Cable later meets with Madelyne where the latter realizes who he is.]]
