Having more Squires can be beneficial to the Shepherd when purifying malevolence, though the risk of the Shepherd and Squire dying is there if they are still overdosed.

* ChasteHero: Despite the yaoi/yuri fans seeing homosexuality between any two same sex characters who have a close relationship, like they always do, Sorey is essentially this. It could definitely be argued that he has the closest relationship with Mikleo though, given they are best friends who've known each other their whole lives.

However, you quickly find out that Sorey and Mikleo were already planning of leaving home and that Sorey [[spoiler:was chosen as the next shepherd when he was born and was raised with that in mind. In fact Lailah was specifically waiting for him the whole time. Essentially Sorey would have left home and become the shepherd regardless of whether or not he met Alisha, their meeting was merely a coincidence, that in actuality didn't alter Sorey's fate.]]

* ChronicHeroSyndrome: {{Deconstructed}}Sorey becomes the shepherd partially because he wants to help people, and his job as a Shepherd gives him this as a duty. However, during journey he learns that he can't save everyone and he shouldn't try to do so because if he does he'll only run himself ragged and fail to help everyone.
