* AbledInTheAdaptation: His brief appearance in Sub-Zero's arcade ending is the first time in the games where Sektor appears before his cyberization, though with his goggles and heavy work clothes we still don't see much.

* SpottingTheThread: Aside from the story details that explain how it can't really be Kronika that players are seeing, there's several hints that "she" isn't what she seems. Kronika was fairly stoic in her demeanor and only occasionally smiled when things were going well for her, she rarely praised her allies and instead focused on placating their doubts about working with her, and spoke with a confident, aloof tone. The Kronika disguise that Titan Shang Tsung uses, however, often flashes a PsychoticSmirk, heaps praise on the other Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, and her voice is a bit deeper and quieter. All of this adds up to this being's manner of manipulating people being quite different from the real Kronika, a major hint that it isn't her.

* DifficultButAwesome: Simply choosing Mavado as a Kameo slices off a whopping 100 health (the biggest health penalty of any Kameo), inherently requiring you play as more like a GlassCannon. In his arsenal, he has only one summon (which [[CastFromHitPoints does self-damage and knocks you down]]), and the rest of his moves can only come out during specific conditions, such as in the midst of executing air juggles or [[JustFrameBonus during Flawless Blocks]], on top of the moves themselves being pretty costly. The tradeoff is that Mavado is a combo-enabling ''monster'' with some fast, high-damage ambushes that can extend plenty of strings into slicing off a third or more of the opponent's health bar.
