* Trekkie: Is a HUGE StarTrek fan, to the point where she does not have a high opinion of StarWars.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Took all the useful tools from the Radioshack room, including ones he didn't need -- Strategic sabotage, or a simple act of [[{{Jerkass}} Jerkassery]]?

* EnsembleDarkhorse: His awkward behavior and his inclination towards thinking relative have given him a large group of fans.

* ActionGirlfriend : Brian's lady-friend Liz Thomas is a well-traveled adventure athlete most known for breaking the women’s unsupported speed record on the Appalachian Trail in 2011.
* BadassBeard : Obviously.
* BewaretheNiceOnes : We all may just want to rub his fuzzy head, but he was happy to keep Zack in as long as possible to crush his opponents.
* CatchPhrase : He has "Mad research skills!" Also he's "Wacky."
* CuteBookworm : Come on... Brian is actually studying library science.
* Dangerously-ShortSkirt : See s2 e4, "Ready, Set, Robot Dodgeball"
* ExpressiveHair : If you look closely, Brian's beard actually delivers his lines during the LARP challenge.

* Hobbit : Describes himself as one.
* HotLibrarian : Blinding us with library science.

* PettingZooPeople : Okay, slight exaggeration, but he's pretty furry.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness : Library. Science.
* TheSmartGuy : Okay, fine, on this show they all are...

* EliminationHoudini

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: He believes that his attempts to play mind games with Zack and Jack just motivated their team to finally win after a long losing streak. [[spolier:He gets eliminated in the Nerd-Off later.]]

* MoralityPet: Seemed to be this for Zack until [[spoiler: she lied to him, sent him to the Nerd Off, and ultimately was defeated by him]].

** HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: He was nice in the first episode, and in the second until after the challenge. Then he became a jerk, but a dangerous jerk, even to the others on his team, until the preparation for the Nerd Off in the third episode. He made a speech to everyone else (on both teams) and seemed ready to change his ways, but he was still blurring the line between "good" and "bad" until episode 4, where - while still an InsufferableGenius - he seemed to get along with everyone again. But seeing as they still sent him to the Nerd Off that episode, including Nicole who had ''promised'' she wouldn't vote for him, the rest of his team don't believe the change has stuck.

* AnnoyingLaugh: And yet, also strangely endearing.

* [[spoiler:BreakTheHaughty: For all her snarks and high confidence in herself, she gets reduced to tears after losing the quiz challenge in the season finale.]]

* TheCaligula : as he is the leader, he's pretty much shaping up to be this

* ManipulativeBitch: Seems to be the source of most of Zack's meltdowns, and often eggs him on during them.

* InformedAbility: In her bio video, she declares that her greatest strength is her ability to be flirtatious to get what she wants. We . . . don't really see much of that in the show.

* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Once you hear that he loves to forage for and eat wild mushrooms, and see him wandering about Nerdvana in the early hours of the morning wearing a space helmet, hiding in bushes and climbing trees . . . it's difficult not to get this impression of him.

* DrunkenMaster: Delivers a tipsy albeit cogent lecture on neuroanatomy.

** To be fair, nobody tried to help him find the ring. Also, his mistake was overshadowed by Zack's obnoxious behavior.

* DeadpanSnarker: Zach cuts him off, and his response is just "That's fine, I didn't want to finish anyway..."
* [[spoiler: UnwittingPawn: To the Purple Team. The Purple Team sent Josh to the Nerd-Off in the hopes that he would lose against Zach, as Zach himself was a detriment to his own team. Josh lost.]]

* BrokenTears: She was not happy and started crying when [[spoiler: Josh]] was eliminated, as she really wanted to see Zach eliminated.

** Subverted in the fact that she did tell one person, Zach (in order to set up a two-person alliance), who ultimately told everyone in Episode 2 that she was a chemist due to the science-based task that the teams were participating.
* ManipulativeBitch: Knows that psychological warfare is the way to win and isn't afraid to prod Zach's ego to get him to do what she wants, as seen in Episode 3.
* TheStarscream: Because of Zach's ego, and the fact that he destroyed the alliance between him and Nicole by revealing her chemistry background, motivated her to send him to the Nerd-Off.

* TookALevelInJerkass: He was a nice guy in the first episode, and not too bad in the first half of the second - at least, not so much it couldn't be attributed to just stress from the challenge. Then, during the Nerd-Off voting, he vocalized his team's thoughts about [[InsufferableGenius Zach]], which made it look like this happened.

* InsufferableGenius: Crosses over into {{Jerkass}} territory.
