An 11-years-old boy who found himself on the Train and initially helps the Denizens of the Model Diorama Car as a medic and a mech builder after he ran away from home due to his parents trying to confiscate his toys and video games. After the war ended thanks to their efforts, Yuri joins Sycamore and Vaillant and formed Windchasers as one of the founding members. While a snarky and childish kid, he seems to hide a hidden fragile side of him related to his parents and himself...

* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He '''hates''' ''Franchise/SilentHill'' after he watched an entire walkthrough of ''VideoGame/SilentHill2'' to the point that he banned his parents from ever buying it. Unfortunately, Alain's in the Infinity Train equivalent and since he never went past ''2'', he won't be prepared for [[VideoGame/SilentHill4 Walter, Henry]] and ''especially'' [[VideoGame/SilentHillHomecoming Alex.]]

* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:His previous partner abused him and he lashes out by brainwashing Sycamore in an attempt to "protect" others from feeling his pain.]]

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: [[spoiler:Ibn Battuta states that this is what happened to Shadow Sycamore; he's becoming just as bad as the passenger who abused him.]]

* MeaningfulRename: Names himself "Asher", a Hebrew name for "happiness" as his quest is to help regain that happiness.

* AnimalMotifs: Birds, particularly crows to go with his trickster nature. In the Fashion Runway Car, Chloe uses Caim as inspiration for his new attire and the Mirage Pokémon he grows attached to is Murkrow.

* CastingAShadow: It's a Dark-type.

* ActionSurvivor: Despite having no combat skills whatsoever, he accompanies Rimuru's squad to protect the werewolf village.

** As the TokenAdult (and male) to a group hoping to dismantle the Apex, he's this to Paul London of White Gestalt. Sycamore is a newbie with his only problem being based on concern and worry over Alain, whereas London is stuck due to having committed murder and everything else that was done under White Gestalt's name. And while Sycamore moves forward to get things done, London has no choice but to run away before things get worse.

* HumbleHero: Is very modest when Rimuru praises him for saving the werewolf chief.

* LaughingMad: Ends up like this when [[spoiler:he repeatedly stabs Lain in the gut, due to being brainwashed by his own shadow.]]

** Walter calls him a new Cage of Flauros compoment, "Daybreak" which is meaningful in two ways: 1) it's not part of a reference to the original 7 components and 2) All seven components start with "De" whereas Daybreak starts with "Da", highlighting that he's unique to the story itself.

* TriggerPhrase: With Asher's blessing, he is given numerous phrases through hypnosis to prepare for the journey ahead. Aside from the two obvious ones -- "Sleep" and "Awake" -- he also gets "Breathe" (helps him take a breath), "Freeze" (his body his paralyzed) and "Undo" (undoes a previous trigger).

* {{Irony}}: He falls in love with a Mirage Murkrow pet. While the crow symbolsim is perfect for a trickster like him, Murkrow were based off witches reflecting how St. Joan was accused of witchcraft ''and'' Chloe's own association with witches.

* DramaPreservingHandicap: A Garchomp in battle would be pretty awesome and make things easier for Sycamore in the...unfortunately, she got food poisoning from [[LethalChef Shion's]] soup and has to sit out the first raid in the Monster City Car.

* RealMenWearPink: He adores the adorable Porings (many of which come in pink).

* TheQuest: Two of them; one of them is to rescue Alain and the other is to catch up with the Red Lotus Trio on ''their'' quest to stop the Apex.

The protagonist of this deviated story. A Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region with Mega Evolution as his focus for his research.

* AscendedExtra: He was originally a supporting character in ''[[Fanfic/InfinityTrainBlossomingTrail Blossoming Trail]]'' where he just informed Ash about Alain's disappearance. Here, his decision to forgo telling him in this story caused him to enter the Train instead.

* TheChosenOne: To Rimuru Tempest, who not only gives him the task to rescue Alain from ''Sileny Hill'', but help the Red Lotus Trio in their quest to stop the Apex.

* {{Foil}}: Sycamore is basically this to every other Pokémon character who ever entered the Train, mostly because he's an adult compared to the kid passengers (with Mallow having entered at age ''5'', Tokio, Chloe and Goh at 10 and Gladion and Bede at 14).

* ICallItVera: Names his magical sword, ''"Tempest's Light"'' after one of his titles and his friendship with Rimuru.

* RageBreakingPoint: After hearing from Officer Jenny that the police will cancel the search for his former assistant along with her accidentally instigate a RantInducingSlight by asking him to take a rest, Augustine couldn't hold in his frustrations and worries any longer as he went on ranting over that his former pupil is in danger. It isn't until he accidentally snapped at Calem and Mayer that made him realized that the stress of the search is getting to him.

* ThirdPersonPerson: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. He begins speaking like this during his chat with Victor and Gloria, but it turns out to be Shadow Sycamore screwing with his phone.

* AwesomeByAnalysis: He can read people's motive through their body language.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He detests using the HypnoPendulum cliche for his work.

* HorrifyingTheHorror: He's ''terrified'' of Chloe when he sees her fight in the Ninjala Car cause she can cast fire ''and he's weak to it''. It gets worse after what she did to the Mirage Army.
* ImTakingHerHomeWithMe: Does this to a Mirage Mukrow in the Ninjala Car, calling them "Murky" giving it cuddles.

* HorrifyingTheHorror: He's ''terrified'' of Chloe when he sees her fight in the Ninjala Car cause she can cast fire ''and he's weak to it''.

* {{Foil}}: He is this to Lexi. Both of them are Denizen partners to the protagonists and both of them have fathers currently in important positions (Lexi's father is the king of The Library of Flying Books Car, Vaillant's is the chief in a village in The Monster City Car). They were also ''[[{{Unishment}} "punished"]]'' by their fathers to accompany their partners in their journeys for different reasons. Lexi was given the punishment after him lashing out at his father (under the assumption that Titus just abandoned him) and putting Chloe in danger while Vaillant is punished after his reckless actions almost killed his father during a raid. Also both of them have silver as a color motif with Vaillant becoming a Silver Lycanthrope and Lexi's original book cover being silver. They are given a more "human" form by their passenger partners, but Vaillant only got his after gaining a name by Sycamore, whereas Chloe literally gives one to Lexi via her artistic skills. And finally, Vaillant never encountered the Apex so he has no beef against them while Lexi was torn apart by the leaders years ago, and he wants nothing more than to see them bleed. Their powers are also different: Lexi can fold his papers to create different forms while Vaillant is capable of casting illusions.

* MoreInsultingThanIntended: When he learns that Chloe is wearing a cloak based on Marchosias -- a wolf demon who breahtes fire -- he questions why she'd have it and Marchosias' seal on her sheath. Unfortuantely, Chloe takes it as an insult and interprets it as why would a girl like her be into such horrible things instead of being what's "socially accepted" and dredging up all of the traumas she had back at school.

* BigEater: In the Ninjala Car, he's excited to find out the winner of the tournament gets a dinner at a fancy restaurant and his lunch is a mega beef bowl that could feet four men (and he's reduced to the body of a six-year-old at this point).

* HeroesPreferSwords: Though it's not so much that he prefers it, Sycamore's gifted a sword from Rimuru in order to help for the second Rock Crusher raid, and to make his journey across the Train slightly easier.

* BadPowersGoodPeople: Has the ability to use hypnosis and mind control (which is associated with morally twisted characters like Kisaragi, Walter/Henry and [[spoiler: [=UnChloe=]]]) but ultimately is a good Shadow.

** Another one happens during his confrontation with Shadow Sycamore, when [[spoiler: him being BrainwashedAndCrazy into attacking his friends and killing Lain]] causes him to enter a TranquilFury state against the Shadow.

* TeamDad: As the oldest and most reasonable member of the Windchasers, he's more often than not the one who helps the younger Passengers work out their issues.

* TranquilFury: [[spoiler:Shadow Sycamore brainwashing him and then ''forcing him to murder Lain'' makes him pissed.]]

** Lexi: As a character who was abused by their former partners and wants nothing more than to murder them.
** Easter: The denizen who enacts torture on his victims after being heavily abused before realizing their actions are wrong and later fuses with their partner to atone.
** Zeno: A sadistic construct who has a tendency for PassThePopcorn while watching people fall into despair. Like Zeno was visible only to Goh (and Parker), Shadow Sycamore is only visible to Sycamore unless in Persona form. In an interesting turn of events it's Sycamore who helps him get better.

** To Chloe, as they're children from the Pokémon world who aren't Trainers, have issues with their parents and seem to have a love of gaming. While Chloe is ''already'' a hero by the time the story starts, Yuri has only been around for less than a week and his attempt at being a hero ended badly. They also have opposite reactions to ''Silent Hill'': Chloe wants to play the games (specifically good-quality copies of ''2'' and ''3'') while Yuri ''begged'' his parents to banned him from playing any of them after seeing a playthrough of ''2''.

* NiceGuy: A humble, gracious person to the point he [[spoiler:was willing to forgive his own Shadow even though said Shadow brainwashed him and made him kill a construct of Alain]].

The protagonist of this deviated story. A Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region with Mega Evolution as his focus for his research. After his former assistant, Alain's disappearance, Professor Sycamore grew restless as he tried to help with the police's search for him. However, his single decision and meeting led him into the Train that he shouldn't be on in the first place.

* FirstNameBasis: He prefers to be called by his first name, Augustine, then his surname, Sycamore, to the point he even asks Rimuru to call him by his first name when he calls him "Sycamore."

* {{Foil}}: Sycamore is basically this to every other Pokémon character who ever entered the Train mostly because he's an adult compared to the kid passengers (with Mallow having entered at age ''5'', Tokio, Chloe and Goh at 10 and Gladion and Bede at 14).
** He's a contrast to Chloe in some regards with one aspect of them being that he's slightly embarrassed to sing while Chloe is willing to serenade her partners without a hint of bashfulness. And while he's completely confused with the craziness that goes on, Chloe rolls with it.

* TokebAdult: He's the only real adult in the Windchasers: Yuri and Valliant are allegedly teenagers, while Garchomp and the other two members' age are unknown.
