* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Alain going missing hits him ''much'' harder than in canon, being the reason he wound up on the Train and all.

* TheChosenOne: To Rimuru Tempest, who not only gives him the task to rescue Alain from ''Sileny Hill'', but help the Red Lotus Trio in their quest to stop the Apex.

** He's a contrast to Chloe in some regards with one aspect of them being that he's slightly embarrassed to sing while Chloe is willing to serenade her partners without a hint of bashfulness. And while he's completely confused with the craziness that goes on, Chloe rolls with it.

Both of them suffer a GuiltComplex over an important person going missing, but while Professor Cerise managed to somewhat stay stable regardless, Sycamore was taken by the Train. * NonIndicativeName: Despite the name, they're not actually chasing after the wind, but a ten year old girl.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A Professor who studies fantastical creatures, a bipedal shark-like humanoid, a lupine PrettyBoy, a mech rider/mecha otaku boy, a plush bunny, and a robotic spider.

[[folder:Professor Sycamore]]
!!Augustine Sycamore

The protagonist of this deviated story. A Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region with Mega Evolution as his focus for his research. After his former assistant, Alain's disappearance, Professor Sycamore grew restless as he tried to help with the police's search for him. However, his single decision and meeting led him into the Train that he shouldn't be on in the first place.
----
* ActionSurvivor: Despite having no combat skills whatsoever, he accompanies Rimuru's squad to protect the werewolf village.
* AdultsAreUseless: He certainly thinks he's an example of this trope in regards to what happened in Alain. This gets subverted when he helps heal the werewolf village chief and he is reassured that what happened with Alain is not his fault.
* AscendedExtra: He was originally a supporting character in ''[[Fanfic/InfinityTrainBlossomingTrail Blossoming Trail]]'' where he just informed Ash about Alain's disappearance. Here, his decision to forgo telling him in this story caused him to enter the Train instead.
* BadassLongcoat: Wears this as part of his Train outfit that Rimuru provided.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's a very pleasant and kind person so if you manage to piss him off, you're pretty much done.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler:Ends up like this in the Twisted Lab Car, courtesy of his shadow.]]
* BreakTheScientist: It's almost redundant to mention this trope, but his first arrival on the Train causes him to faint twice for a reason.
* {{Expy}}: Like how the Cage of Flauros components that weren't initially ''Silent Hill'' characters are all based on the protagonists of the mainline games (ex. Chloe was Heather Mason and Alain was ''Shattered Memories'' Harry Mason), Augustine has traits of ''Silent Hill 2'' protagonist James Sunderland who journeys to into the fog after getting a message from their loved one (in this case Alain) and he must fight a manifestation of his own darkness (Shadow Sycamore).
* FantasticScience: He's a Pokémon Professor, meaning he studies Pokémon... Which doesn't help him at all when he ends up on the Train.
* FirstNameBasis: He prefers to be called by his first name, Augustine, then his surname, Sycamore, to the point he even asks Rimuru to call him by his first name when he calls him "Sycamore."
* FlowerMotif: Crocus flowers represent "Hope" which is what Professor Sycamore will bring when he enters. It also relates to Alain's own flower motif being the crocus combined with his last name (Sativus) being related to the plant that creates "saffron".
* {{Foil}}: Sycamore is basically this to every other Pokémon character who ever entered the Train mostly because he's an adult compared to the kid passengers (with Mallow having entered at age ''5'', Tokio, Chloe and Goh at 10 and Gladion and Bede at 14).
** He's a contrast to Chloe in some regards with one aspect of them being that he's slightly embarrassed to sing while Chloe is willing to serenade her partners without a hint of bashfulness. And while he's completely confused with the craziness that goes on, Chloe rolls with it.
* GuiltComplex: This was Alain's FatalFlaw in ''Blossoming Trail'' but this now affects Professor Sycamore also, believing that he didn't pursue Alain's problems more or didn't come to stop Alain before Lysandre reared his ugly head.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Though it's not so much that he prefers it, Sycamore's gifted a sword from Rimuru in order to help for the second Rock Crusher raid, and to make his journey across the Train slightly easier.
* HiddenDepths: He's fond of electronic dance music. Sycamore said that this is because Professor Kukui gave him a playlist to calm him down before his first lecture.
* HopeBringer: His role in the story, relating to his title of "Seeker of Crocus".
* HumbleHero: Is very modest when Rimuru praises him for saving the werewolf chief.
* ICallItVera: Names his magical sword, ''"Tempest's Light"'' after one of his titles and his friendship with Rimuru.
* InSeriesNickname: Because Vaillant finds his first name (Augustine) to be a mouthful, he picks "Gus" as a nickname for simplicity's sake. He also is somehow called [[EmbarrassingNickname "Professor of the Monster Kingdom"]]. Yuri later calls him "August".
* KarmicJackpot: Despite having no combat capabilities himself, and Valliant's rude attitude to him earlier, Sycamore ''still'' risks his life by coming along to save the wolf village, even saving the chief. In the process, he gets his first Denizen partner in Valliant, who's grateful for all his help.
* LaughingMad: Ends up like this when [[spoiler:he repeatedly stabs Lain in the gut, due to being brainwashed by his own shadow.]]
* TheMedic: Thanks to training as a Professor, he knows how to tend to injuries.
* MirrorCharacter: To Tulip Olsen from ''WesternAnimation/InfinityTrain'' as both are logical minded characters who board the Train and have many similar quirks: one of them being that they're embarrassed to sing a song important to them in the Crystal Car (Tulip's song, "Word Up" was a song she sang with her parents on road trips while Augustine's song "The Specter" related to his love of electronic dance music.)
* NiceGuy: A humble, gracious person to the point he [[spoiler:was willing to forgive his own Shadow even though said Shadow brainwashed him and made him kill a construct of Alain]].
* PoorCommunicationKills: Wouldn't be a ''Blossomverse'' protagonist without this.
** Decides not to tell Ash what's going on with Alain...[[DramaticIrony who could have helped out in explaining the Infinity Train's existence because Trip is already there in regards to Chloe's disappearance.]] He later learns that [[spoiler: Alain passed by the Monster City Car a while back.]]
** He then learns that he could use the Infinet to contact everyone long ''after'' he woke up from the Train because One-One hasn't updated the introduction videos. Needless to say, he's not happy to find out he could've called everyone sooner.
* RageBreakingPoint: After hearing from Officer Jenny that the police will cancel the search for his former assistant along with her accidentally instigate a RantInducingSlight by asking him to take a rest, Augustine couldn't hold in his frustrations and worries any longer as he went on ranting over that his former pupil is in danger. It isn't until he accidentally snapped at Calem and Mayer that made him realized that the stress of the search is getting to him.
** Another one happens during his confrontation with Shadow Sycamore, when [[spoiler: him being BrainwashedAndCrazy into attacking his friends and killing Lain]] causes him to enter a TranquilFury state against the Shadow.
* RedBaron: "Augustine of the Light" and "Seeker of Crocus".
* RuleOfSymbolism:
** Augustine's starting number, '129' is the episode number for ''[[Anime/PokemonTheSeriesXY Pokémon XYZ's]]'' ''"Kalos League Passion with a Certain Flare!"'', which was where Professor Sycamore met Alain for the last time before the Team Flare arc.
** His black and white longcoat reflects his innocent views of things being black and white.
* SignificantWardrobeShift: After the events of the Monster City Car, Sycamore switches from his lab coat to a white and black long coat similar to Rimuru's, signifying his new role as the protagonist of the story and [[WordOfGod according to the author]], represents him as Rimuru's ChosenOne.
* ThirdPersonPerson: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]. He begins speaking like this during his chat with Victor and Gloria, but it turns out to be Shadow Sycamore screwing with his phone.
* TokebAdult: He's the only real adult in the Windchasers: Yuri and Valliant are allegedly teenagers, while Garchomp and the other two members' age are unknown.
* TrainingFromHell: Engages in this during his stay in the Monster City Car because he knows he can't rely on Garchomp all the time.
* TranquilFury: [[spoiler:Shadow Sycamore brainwashing him and then ''forcing him to murder Lain'' makes him pissed.]]
-->'''Sycamore:'''...I don't need you anymore.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: When Sycamore begins beating himself up over being an example of how AdultsAreUseless, Rimuru and the newly-named Vaillant reply that it isn't the case, since he helped keep Vaillant's village safe despite having no combat ability of his own.

!!Shadow Sycamore / St. Joan / Asher
After the Twisted Lab Car, Augustine obtains his own Persona based off of the legendary Jeanne D'Arc.
----
* BadPowersGoodPeople: Has the ability to use hypnosis and mind control but ultimate is a good Shadow.
* CheshireCatGrin: Has one to relate to his trickster personality.
* CompositeCharacter: Surprisingly shares many traits with the Specter expies from the original ''Blossomverse''.
** Lexi: As a character who was abused by their former partners and wants nothing more than to murder them.
** Easter: The denizen who enacts torture on his victims after being heavily abused before realizing their actions are wrong and later fuses with their partner to atone.

* CreepyGood: Mostly when his appearance is of Sycamore as he's a darkened version with gold eyes who tends to be ''very'' touchy-feely with his partner and has a penchance of using hypnosis.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:His previous partner abused him and he lashes out by brainwashing Sycamore in an attempt to "protect" others from feeling his pain.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: He detests using the HypnoPendulum cliche for his work.
* {{Expy}}: Per WordOfGod, he's heavily inspired by Zeno from ''Blossoming Trail''.
* GenderFlip: Has the name of St. Joan but is a male Persona.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: [[spoiler:Ibn Battuta states that this is what happened to Shadow Sycamore; he's becoming just as bad as the passenger who abused him.]]
* HorrifyingTheHorror: He's ''terrified'' of Chloe when he sees her fight in the Ninjala Car cause she can cast fire ''and he's weak to it''.
* LightEmUp: Is capable of using Kouha spells.
* MeaningfulRename: Names himself "Asher", a Hebrew name for "happiness" as his quest is to help regain that happiness.
* MustMakeAmends: [[spoiler:Joins with his other self in order to help atone for putting Sycamore under mind control and killing Lain.]]
* NeverBeHurtAgain: [[spoiler:Proclaims that this as to why he attacked and brainwashed Sycamore so that no one could ever experience the pain he went through.]]

* RamenSlurp: Does this ''twice'' when [[spoiler:he watches Augustine follow his commands to murder Yuri and Vaillant]] and is doing this in the Ninjala Car with a bowl of shio ramen when his other self is flustered on talking to Chloe.

[[folder:Garchomp]]
Professor Sycamore's Pokemon. She lived in his lab as a test subject to her trainer's research into Mega Evolution. But despite her blissful life in the lab, she is still a powerful Pokemon in her own right with her ability to Mega Evolve.
----
* ActionGirl: She's a Pokémon who's always ready to fight, provided the enemy doesn't seem like something that could kill her like a Black Centipede.
* DishingOutDirt: Is part Ground-type and recently learns and uses Dig against the Rock Golems.
* ADogNamedDog: Like most Pokémon, her name is exactly the same as her species.
* DramaPreservingHandicap: A Garchomp in battle would be pretty awesome and make things easier for Sycamore...unfortunately, she got food poisoning from [[LethalChef Shion's]] soup and has to sit out the first raid in the Monster City Car.
* GentleGiant: Despite her threatening demeanor, she is a sweetheart who is genuinely concerned for her trainer's wellbeing lately.
* InSeriesNickname: She's given the name "Chompy" by Vaillant and his sister.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Dragon-type but looks more like a bipedal hammer-head shark with scythe-like wings. She's even called a "dragon shark".
* SuperForm: She possesses an ability to use Mega Evolution and she will keep it since Augustine brought the stones needed along with him on the Train.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Her look when the Professor tries to have her fight a [[BigCreepyCrawlies Black Centipede]] just ''screams'' this trope.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Vaillant]]
A werewolf (now a Silver Lycanthrope after being given a name by Rimuru) who originally lived in a village in the Monster City Car, which was attacked by golems called Rock Crushers. After his reckless attempts to destroy them almost killed his father (who is the village chief) before he was rescued by Rimuru and Professor Sycamore, he realized his mistakes and is tasked by his father to accompany Sycamore in his journey as part of his punishment.
----
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: He was initially hostile to both Rimuru and Professor Sycamore when they first met. But after they saved his family and rescued his father from the brink of death, he apologizes for his behavior and shows him UndyingLoyalty to both the Demon Lord and his new passenger partner.
* BigEater: In the Ninjala Car, he's excited to find out the winner of the tournament gets a dinner at a fancy restaurant and his lunch is a mega beef bowl that could feet four men (and he's reduced to the body of a six-year-old at this point).
* FemaleMonsterSurprise: He's completely stumped when Garchomp's revealed to be a girl.
* {{Foil}}: He is this to Lexi. Both of them are Denizen partners to the protagonists and both of them have fathers currently in important positions (Lexi's father is the king of The Library of Flying Books Car, Vaillant's is the chief in a village in The Monster City Car). They were also ''[[{{Unishment}} "punished"]]'' by their fathers to accompany their partners in their journeys for different reasons. Lexi was given the punishment after him lashing out at his father (under the assumption that Titus just abandoned him) and putting Chloe in danger while Vaillant is punished after his reckless actions almost killed his father during a raid. Also both of them have silver as a color motif with Vaillant becoming a Silver Lycanthrope and Lexi's original book cover being silver. They are given a more "human" form by their passenger partners, but Vaillant only got his after gaining a name by Sycamore, whereas Chloe literally gives one to Lexi via her artistic skills. And finally, Vaillant never encountered the Apex so he has no beef against them while Lexi was torn apart by the leaders years ago, and he wants nothing more than to see them bleed. Their powers are also different: Lexi can fold his papers to create different forms while Vaillant is capable of casting illusions.
** He's also a foil to Atticus. Both of them are the first partners of their respective passenger but Atticus has already had one adventure whereas this will be Vaillant's first time out of his car. Atticus is noble and honorable to the core while Vaillant is somewhat gruff before softening up. Also Atticus is a corgi while Vaillant is a werewolf that later gains a human form.
* GroinAttack: Has been subjected to this twice.
* ImmuneToMindControl: [[spoiler:Brainwashing doesn't work on him because immunization from it is a secondary power to their mastery of illusions.]]
* InSeriesNickname: When naming Vaillant, Sycamore also gave him a nickname, "Vale" as an easier way to call him.
* MasterOfIllusion: Silver Lycanthropes are capable of casting powerful illusions.
* MeaningfulName: His name is French (or Kalosian as Sycamore puts it) for "valiant", which fits him really well because of his courage and determination born out of his love for his village and his family. His nickname "Vale" also stands for "valley", which also fits with his home beforehand.
* MustMakeAmends: Has this attitude after realizing how mean he was to Rimuru and Sycamore and it's part of the reason he joins the latter on his train trip.
* TheNoseKnows: Subverted; turns out his nose is only good for sniffing out food.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: Before his evolution, he was a bipedal werewolf. However, once he evolved into a [Silver Lycanthrope], he resembled more of a LittleBitBeastly human boy with silver wolf ears, tail, and claws.

[[folder:Yuri Ichiro]]
An 11-years-old boy who found himself on the Train and initially helps the Denizens of the Model Diorama Car as a medic and a mech builder after he ran away from home due to his parents trying to confiscate his toys and video games. After the war ended thanks to their efforts, Yuri joins Sycamore and Vaillant and formed Windchasers as one of the founding members. While a snarky and childish kid, he seems to hide a hidden fragile side of him related to his parents and himself...
----
* AlternateSelf: According to the author, this Yuri Ichiro is very different from the one in a Discord RP she participated in.
* BreakTheCutie:
** Was broken at how [[spoiler:Vaillant pulled a TakeMeInstead in the Model Diorama Car, believing everyone would hate him for his attempt of being a hero.]]
** He goes through [[spoiler:his own personal version of nightmare therapy and nearly goes down the path of Blossomverse Goh if it weren't for Vaillant helping him break out of his despair.]]
* CutenessProximity: Upon seeing the Porings in the Poring Village Car, he squees and tackles them in a hug.
* DeadpanSnarker: Very snarky for an eleven-year-old boy.
* {{Fanboy}}: Of Porings and ''Ninjala'' and it's convenient that the Train has cars based on them.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Chloe, as they're children from the Pokémon world who aren't Trainers, have issues with their parents and seem to have a love of gaming. They also have opposite reactions to ''Silent Hill'': Chloe wants to play the games (specifically good-quality copies of ''2'' and ''3'') while Yuri ''begged'' his parents to banned him from playing any of them after seeing a playthrough of ''2''.
** To Goh: Both of them are obsessed with something to the point they ignore everyone in their lives (Gunpla and anime for Yuri and Mew for Goh). Yuri has an older sister, Goh is an only child. Yuri pays little to no attention to his parents while Goh at least understands his parents work very hard. Yuri goes to school all the time while Goh only goes to take tests. Yuri has no friends, Goh has one in Ash and "another" one in Chloe. [[spoiler:And while both got their own tastes of "nightmare therapy", Yuri makes it out because he had friends to support him whereas Blossomverse Goh was all alone and ended up shattered from it.]]
* GenreSavvy: He knows the ins and outs of story beats because of his love of anime and games.
* HeroicBSOD: Ends up like this when he goes through his own nightmare therapy incident and is ready to give into his Shadow's taunts. Vaillant is the only reason why he doesn't end up like Goh.
* HeroicSacrifice: Played with, he ''wants'' to be able to do this in the Model Diorama Car [[spoiler:but Vaillant takes up his place and he's hurt because Vaillant shouldn't be involved in the Gundam war.]]
* TheMedic: Somewhat; he's become a medic and surgeon in the Model Diorama car because the denizens are basically build model characters which he does as a hobby.
* MouthyKid: As part of his EstablishingCharacterMoment, he is known to be snarky and not afraid to speak his mind.
* TheNicknamer: He's the one who gives names to his denizen partners.
* OhCrap: When Augustine learns that Alain's in Silent Hill, he is ''horrified''.
* OriginalCharacter: He's one from a Discord RP made by the author.
* RealMenWearPink: He adores the adorable Porings (many of which come in pink).
* RuleOfSymbolism: His number, 195, comes from a WhamEpisode from the Discord RP the author was in on Week 19, Day 5.
* SourOutsideSadInside: He's usually a snarky mouthy kid, but deep down he has a lot of self-loathing issues over how his attempts at a HeroicSacrifice got [[spoiler:Valliant to take his place.]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He '''hates''' ''Franchise/SilentHill'' after he watched an entire walkthrough of ''VideoGame/SilentHill2'' to the point that he banned his parents from ever buying it. Unfortunately, Alain's in the Infinity Train equivalent and since he never went past ''2'', he won't be prepared for [[VideoGame/SilentHill4 Walter, Henry]] and ''especially'' [[VideoGame/SilentHillHomecoming Alex.]]

!!Ibn Battuta
Yuri's Persona which he received from the Twisted Lab Car.
----
* BlowYouAway: He's focused on Garu spells.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: He gives Yuri a VR headset that lets him see the stats of an enemy and allows him to look into the contents of train cars (with a maximum of three at a time).
* MeaningfulName: He's named after a famous explorer from the 14th century who traveled the Middle East and beyond, and had a tendency for, as ''Extra Credits'' calls it, "side trips".
* SwordAndGun: Wields both a sword and rifle as weapons.
