* OddFriendship: Karna is mistrustful and skittish, and is a warlock for the Hungry One, but she has a lot of respect for the elderly, affable Bulbian priest Raphaniel. Despite coming from two vastly different backgrounds, they understand each other in philosophical grounds about the nature of their world and beyond. Also, as two accomplished liars and backstabbers, they are more tolerant of the things they've had to do to advance in the world.

** As the character with the highest station among the cast, Queen Amangeaux finds herself in a similar position as King Amethar, specially after the latter [[spoiler:is excomungated and stripped from power]], much like she is basically dismissed after her husband's death. Both also have people they trust among their inner circles who have intentions and machinations they are not aware of. However, whereas Amethar is a war-hardened fighter and a near unstoppable force in battle, Amangeaux is naïve and unsure, and she's focused in stealth rather than all-out battle. Coincidentally, they both also have drama involving [[spoiler:a secret child, although Amethar is initially not aware of his, unlike Amangeaux]].
