Both are demigods, but their growths were affected by how they were raised by their respective parents - the Terran Princes became beloved heroes of their homeland by overcoming their own flaws thanks to Golden Scepter's positive influence, while the Changeling Kings became infamous as highly immoral and tyrannical schemers thanks to Blackthorn's rather hands-off parenting. The Terran Princes are very close to each other as brothers, while many of the Changeling Kings will not hesitate to kill and/or sabatoge their brothers to gain power and/or Blackthorn's favor. The Terran Prinnces also have the potential to become true gods if they choose to, something that the Changeling Kings believe to be impossible since no Royal Changeling [[spoiler:save for the Zeroth Spawns]] has ever done it before.

* SecretTestOfCharacter: It's noted in Pokhot's entry that she subjects Golden Scepter's sons to "games" of temptation whenever they visit the Bogolenya pantheon, by making them lust after the darker sides of what they each embody. However, the motives behind said games are not malicious - Pokhot only wants to test their heroic resolve as bastions of virtue, and to her, this is her way of being "friendly" to the children of an ancient god who befriended her father during [[WalkingTheEarth one of his past adventures]]. Thus, she is delighted when they resist her temptations, such as Crimson Star who rejected her offers of forbidden knowledge and a cure for his blindness, [[KarmicJackpot and ended up being gifted with a tome on ancient civilizations]].

* {{Tulpa}}: In a ShoutOut to a [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice certain]] AffectionateParody series, Forging Scales [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/873294164/4912541600 have one bothering him]] in the form of a 'Skull-Ghost' - or 'Skost' - of his brother Ferreus Malleus (before his own change in character), who haunts him and occasionally manifests to condemn him, which was spawned from both his guilt and self-loathing as well as his own magic during his self-imposed exile from the Terran Empire. Fortunately, apart from making him feel bad, Skost-Ferreus is otherwise harmless, and after recovering and returning home Forging Scales had learnt to just ignore it.

* BerserkButton: Hearing his fortifications and buildings being broken through or infiltrated serve as this to him, more so the easier it was for the invader/infiltrator to do so. [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/877792481/4924256956 Hearing]] some Unseelie Fae had somehow infiltrated and conducted espionage within the Terran Imperial Palace itself - one of the finest works he and Steel Barricade worked on together following their reconciliation - caused him and his brother to fly into a '[[TranquilFury trance-like fury]]' and begin to quite literally 'reinstall' the ''entire palace'' with their own magic, tools and bare hooves to make it impenetrable once more. It took the combined efforts of his father Golden Scepter, his brothers, his wife Princess Veritas/Applejack and half the Castellan guards of the Terran Imperial Palace to restrain them long enough for them both to calm down.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: Emerald Lion is quiet, reserved, antisocial and generally a loner, but if you give him cause to be mad at you, he won't chastise you or anything - rather, as Prince Raven Wing put it, he would express his absolute disappointment with action that would make you regret ever doing whatever you did to piss him off.

* TheQuietOne: One of the less public members of the Aurusidae, Prince Emerald Lion prefer to stay in the background, keeping his thoughts and feelings to himself and dedicating almost entirely to the duties he upholds regardless of thanks or notice. * GenerationalMagicDecline: Due to racist/tribalist beliefs being common at the time, it's believed that him being a Unicorn with half-Earth Pony genes made his innate magic 'weaker', which made him inferior in the eyes of many 'pureblooded' Unicorns. However, it's averted since it's not his heritage that made his magic weak - it was the actions of the prideful and racist Unicorns who denied him proper magic instruction out of disgust towards his mere existence. Once he becomes a student of one of the Starswirls, he proves himself to be an equally powerful and skilled wizard, allowing him to utterly humiliate both his instructors and classmates in magic duels for discriminating against him in the past.

* LastOfItsKind: Inverted. One of her titles as "the First Pony" came from her being the first Pony - specifically, the Earthpony tribe - to ever came to be thanks to the efforts of Golden Scepter and his siblings. This is why, when she Ascended, she has 'Ponykind' as one of her domains, along with all the associated powers and traits that come with the Pony tribes.

* AdaptationalHeroism: [[VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}} Dhylec]] became corrupted and turned into a demonic blade after its wielder, Donovan Baine, gave in to his vampiric side and transformed into Dee, who became a bonus boss in ''Darkstalkers 3/Vampire Savior''. By contrast, Mercy would avoid a similar fate thanks to Silver Bane realizing the error of his KnightTemplar ways and giving her to Golden Scepter and his sons, who would protect her from the reach and influence of the Poenan Pantheon once her [[TalkingWeapon sentience]] became publicly known. As a result, Mercy became a compassionate - if naive and childlike - sword who has worked with Prince Red Blade in taking down tyrannical kingdoms and realms.

* CrapsaccharineWorld: Her MentalWorld initially took the form of a blissful paradise populated by friendly animals who are based on the Ponies she knew in the real world. However, investigations spearheaded by Night Shade and the Terran Inquisitors revealed that Rosy's dream world was crafted by [[AbusiveParents Sweet Words]] using dream magic to teach his daughter obedience without her noticing a thing - in order for her dream world to stay blissful, Rosy must exchange "lily petals" for "seeds". Psychiatric sessions also revealed that if Rosy lost the "games" proposed by her animal friends, they would disappear and reveal afterimages of what happened to their real world counterparts, such as a beheaded stallion, a young mare falling to her death, and an older mare with missing eyes. Crimson Star also describes Rosy's dream world as excessively pink and saccharine. Fortunately, once Rosy was freed and adopted by Prince Bright Eyes, both Mentálne and her psychically-inclined uncles had been reconstructing her dream world so Sweet Word's influence would be erased, resulting in her dream world taking the form of a vast open world that she can explore however she pleased.

* HeroicLineage: She's the adoptive daughter of Prince Bright Eyes, who is a benevolent and heroic demi-Alicorn god, while her adoptive grandfather, Golden Scepter, is a legendary war hero and divine prodigy. The left eye, "Cruel Truth", is described as being draconic and fierce, and has the ability to make people see harsh, negative truths about themselves when they gaze into it. Both eyes become nearly invisible when closed, and when both are open, gazing upon them allows people to bear witness to the "Balanced Truth".

Thankfully, Clear Voice and Red Blade intervened, but Steel Barricade ended up in the royal infirmary. Forging Scales was upset over this, and during his visit, he swears that he'll help Steel Barricade recover from his ordeal and atone for his mistakes.

** He would lose his beloved mother, Blessed Skies, to old age as she was a mortal pegasus mare. Fortunately, Applejack talked it over with him before they started dating, and Clear Voice's fears later proved to be unfounded when Applejack managed to Ascend to demi-godhood as Princess Veritas.
** Despite their extremely antagonistic and strained relationship, he still didn't want to lose Steel Barricade so soon after losing their mortal mother, Blessed Skies, to old age. When Steel Barricade tried to commit suicide after [[DespairEventHorizon being left in a despairing state]] by [[{{Jerkass}} Night Shade]], Clear Voice teamed up with Red Blade to prevent it, which landed Steel Barricade in the royal infirmary. Clear Voice would later visit him with Forging Scale, and makes it clear to his younger brother that he doesn't want to lose another person he cares about. Then, both he and Forging Scale would both swear to help their brother recover from his depression and atone for his mistakes despite Steel Barricade wishing for death.

It turns out Mercy left home based on a joke made by Fanged Paw that she interpreted literally. Fortuantely, Golden Scepter found and took Mercy home after talking with her.
** He would go through this again when both he and Clear Voice found Steel Barricade trying to [[DrivenToSuicide killing himself]] out of guilt and self-loathing towards his own mistakes. While they successfully stopped him, Steel Barricade still harmed himself to where he was hospitalized for his injuries..

* DeityOfHumanOrigin: Discussed in one incident. After hearing Fanged Paw joke about Ascending to demi-godhood by "going outside", she [[LiteralMinded took it to mean her adoptive father and uncles became Alicorns by literally going outside]] and tried doing just that, [[AdultFear causing her family to panic when she's gone for a while]]. Golden Scepter soon finds her, and when he learns why Mercy went missing, they have a heart-to-heart about Ascending, which causes Mercy to balk at how difficult it is for someone to ''actually'' Ascend. Golden Scepter assures her that [[SoProudOfYou he'll still be proud of his granddaughter either way]] before taking her home.

* ParentalAbandonment: Despite being a divine sword, she is technically Silver Bane's biological "daughter" in that his frequent use and diligent upkeep of her led to her (somehow) gaining sentience and a soul of her own. Though Silver Bane loved Mercy like his own child, [[AdultFear he soon realized what would happen if the Poenan Pantheon and its followers were to get their hands on her]], so he left Mercy in the care of the Terran Empire's royal family to protect her. While Mercy was initially sad and upset over this, even suffering from abandonment issues for a while, she eventually came to understand why she had to be left behind. It helps that Golden Scepter and his sons treated her as a family member and that Silver Bane could come visit at any time.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: During her adoptive family's meeting with the [[MagicalGirlWarrior Dazzling Divas]], she would befriend Miracle Hymn and wander off with her to go play, [[AdultFear causing both the Terran royal family and the Divas to panic over their disappearances]]. Even though both were fine and powerful enough to [[CurbStompBattle easily defeat a demon]] that tried attacking them, they're still kids who wandered off unsupervised. Once they were found by Sonic Song, Prince Red Blade, and Prince Steel Barricade, Mercy was scolded by Red Blade for her actions.

* AdultFear: Her little sister Apple Bloom wandered away from Twilight while they're away doing errands for Zecora in the Everfree Forest, and was nearly killed by an anti-Cutie Mark cult of deranged zombies led by their equally insane leader, Grey Hoof. [[BigBrotherInstinct She proceeded to make it clear that if Grey Hoof went after Apple Bloom again, she'll "applebuck" him seven ways across Equus]]. Because of this, she would also repeatedly shake Mitta's hoof in gratitude for saving her sister once they met in person.

* BigBrotherInstinct: Gender-inverted. After learning that Grey Hoof and his followers tried to kill Apple Bloom, she vowed to "applebuck" him seven ways across Equus if he came after her younger sister again.

* HappilyMarried: Eventually to [[{{Characters/CodexEquusTerranEmpire}} Applejack V, the Honest Farmer/Princess Veritas, the Eyes of Truth]], former Equestrian bearer of Element of Honesty turned demigod Alicorn Princess of the Terran Empire. Their personalities proved to match and complement each other so well that as they got to know more of each other, they eventually fell in love and got hitched.

* HappilyMarried: Eventually to Prince Clear Voice of the Terran Empire, even having a child together. * AdaptationalHeroism: While [[TabletopGame/Warhammer40000 Primarch Sanguinius]] was loyal to the Imperium, and was one of the nicest and most benevolent Primarchs, he still shared the Imperium's xenophobic beliefs and its collective willingness to kill xeno races for humanity's prosperity and survival. Here, he doesn't have his character inspiration's xenophobia, and while he did neglect his son, Hopeful Moon, for a while [[ThatThingIsNotMyChild for being a reminder of how he got cursed by a Count Dracolt]], he saw the error of his ways thanks to Golden Scepter, and became a better parent to make amends to Hopeful.

Her father, Sweet Words, would sexually abuse her and condition her into compliance by creating a blissful dream world that will only stay that way [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything if she gave him lily petals in exchange for his seeds]]. Her uncle, tutor, and maid each suspected abuse going on, but before either of them could do something about it, they were murdered by her father via [[OffWithHisHead beheading]], [[EyeScream having their eyes taken out]], and/or manipulated into [[DeathByFalingOver falling to their death]], respectively, which she secretly witnessed. Then, when she tried defying her father and escaping, her father imprisoned her within her own mind and created a nightmarish mental entity based on himself to terrorize her as punishment. She was later rescued by Prince Bright Eyes and Prince Written Word after they heard her telepathic calls for help, and was adopted by the former, but she could only wake up after the entity in her mind was defeated and killed.

* CompositeCharacter: He's a combination of [[Series/{{Inazuman}} Goro Watari]], the classic Inazuman, and [[Film/KamenRiderXKamenRiderWizardAndFourzeMovieWarUltimatum Saburo Kazeta]], the modern version. He has the FreudianExcuse backstory and brief stint as a villain of the modern version with personality traits and conflict with the Neo-Human Empire of the original, with his design taking aspects of both.
