* How about his ultimate rallying speech to his soldiers before the final battle? It literally defines who he is as a character in his entirety--a loyal, determined, and humble run-of-the-mill litter boy who's willing to pull off miracles for his friends. And when you consider how for most of the time the soldiers were telling him about all the fancy stuff that comes with being a captain and not the real leadership and character behind it, it makes this quote, where he says he's nothing more than a scrawny street Goomba, all the more awesome. [[HiddenDepths He doesn't care about all the fancy stuff. He just wants to rescue Bowser and the army and go back home.]]

** If you still don't get it, then how about we let this one scene from Joke's End tell you everything? Never before in the ''Mario'' series, no less, has '''one {{Mook}}''' managed to rally an entire group of true, unstoppably loyal friends and comrades to pull of something this epic. And after all the hard times that his squad put him through and all the teasing and heckling they gave him, for them to declare their undying loyalty and admiration for the one soldier who was willing to put everything on the line for their leader effectively solidifies them as TrueCompanions.

* And just like that, the entire squad gets fired up and jumps into Bowser's Castle, ready to fight like hell, as fellow Captain Boo compliments his Goomba comrade for a well-done job.

Awesome/ is for moments, and the entire game is not a moment.

* The whole idea of the game, and screw it, just Captain Goomba himself, can be seen as one. A single Goomba banding all of Bowser's minions together to take back the castle, defeat all of the Koopalings and Fawful and save Bowser. Ludwig in particular is amazed that one Goomba is able to accomplish so much, all through his loyalty to his master. It's no wonder that Captain Goomba gains the respect of his soldiers so easily.
* As clearly said before, '''the ENTIRE GAME''' is one long, HUGE moment of awesome for Captain Goomba himself. He starts off a run-of-the-mill Goomba and Bowser fanboy, and he's thrown in a barrel after losing to the Mario Bros as part of the tutorial battle and he complains about it. Then he's thrown clear of the Koopa Cruiser into a cave in Hoohoo Mountain, and finds a small group of Goombas that he recruits to his cause. They think he's an idiot, but they call him captain just so they don't have to bear the burden. What happens after that? Against the odds, this Goomba squad starts to fight off enemies, and as they get more recruits back, they grow stronger, and ''they get better.'' The kid starts to slip into his role, and from there, he just ''takes off.'' He ''withstands Fawful's brainwashing headgear smoke'', which ''even the '''Koopalings of all minions''' couldn't hold themselves against''. He recruits even ''more'' soldiers, and slowly but surely, this squad starts to turn into an ''army.'' Our upstart Goomba kid leads his growing squad on an entire adventure across the Beanbean Kingdom ''just'' for their leader, Bowser, ''makes ripples and causes major problems for freaking '''Fawful''' of all people'', and '''''turns himself into the captain and leader that NO ONE could have or would have predicted and literally shows the guys who made him the captain that they were RIGHT all along about him being a born leader!''''' Oh, it gets even better. Just when the squad is about to storm Bowser's Castle and take it back, he manages to rally ''all'' of the soldiers back together into Bowser's entire army behind his cause, and just like that, he solidifies the deep respect and admiration of '''''every last soldier and comrade he lead''''', and shows ''just'' who's the captain. And just like that, ''they proceed to haul ass and blow right through Fawful's army all the way to the BigBad himself, and in one last fight to the finish, they '''TAKE HIM DOWN!''''' Yeah that's right, ''he literally '''leads''' the entire army against one of the most powerful Mario villains EVER, and THEY '''WIN!''' '' In the end, when all is said and done, Captain Goomba did what no other minor character in the Mario franchise did: he went from a nobody in Bowser's army and became a '''legend!''' He also proves that the Goombas can be made into an awesome fighting force capable of going blow-for-blow with ''anyone.'' FridgeBrilliance kicks in when you realize that even they could one-hit KO Mario if he messed up just a bit, so in other words, ''they always had it in them.''
