Spoilers shouldn't be marked on Awesome subpages.

* It may be under the worst possible circumstances, but or her actress at least, finally gets to show off some skills of her own when she hands both Kouga and Rei their asses on a silver platter. Granted and they are both doing their best not to hurt her too bad, but it's still a very small young woman taking on two men in peak phyiscal condition and doing serious damage to their internals.
** Any time is guaranteed to be awesome. See KIBA Gaiden for reference.
* The final fight against at the end of the first series takes place on a giant spinning wheel falling thousands of feet through the air.

** The battle ends with a combination attack between the knights and priests, with the Makai Knights using the brushes of the priest to create energy arrows to destroy . Kouga deals the final blow with a powerful arrow created from Kaoru's brush, despite it being just a normal paint brush.

* The entire final act of Gekkou no Tabi-bito, where three generations of Saejimas, that being Raiga, his father Kouga, and Kouga's father Taiga, team up to fight a revived Barago who later merges his Armor with that of Ouga's (Who is said to have been one of the strongest Makai Knights to ever live) to become even stronger. With the tables turned, the Saejimas retaliate by equipping their arms and legs with pieces of the Garo Armor to wear Barago down, eventually concluding with them transforming into the Garo Armor properly and attacking Barago head-on, tagging out to the next family member in line after each blow is dealt.

* An unusual one goes to Igari Juuzou, the samurai MonsterOfTheWeek from Makai Senki's 8th episode. He was able to retain his consciousness as a Horror, never killed innocents, and outclassed Rei in human form. He's probably the only Horror to be seen as a WorthyOpponent by a Makai Knight.

* An unusual one goes to Igari Juuzou, the samurai MonsterOfTheWeek from Makai Senki's 8th episode. He was able to retain his consciousness fully as a Horror, Horror (in fact, it seemed that he absorbed the Horror instead of the other way around), never killed innocents, and outclassed Rei in human form. He's probably the only Horror to be seen as a WorthyOpponent by a Makai Knight.

* Kouga and Rei's first grudge match in the first series involves the two of them beating the crap out of each other while fighting another Horror and then ends with the two of them still whaling on each other while falling hundreds of feet between two skyscrapers. It's perhaps one of the Signature Scenes of Garo.

* Kouga's fight in episode 21 of the first series against multiple gun-wielding Horrors armed with only a sword and his own nigh inhuman badassery. Followed by his refusal to cheapen his own honor by using a gun or killing a human being that had been shooting him for the past few minutes.

* Kouga's LoveEpiphany in Red Sake.
-->Kouga: In the beginning, she was just Horror bait to me. But then...I realized something. Her existence...is the reason I fight. I will protect that girl with my own hands. Before the hundredth day comes, I will definitely do it. Even if it goes against the ways of the Makai Knights, if I can make that girl's life shine a little.
** Then at the end, when Kaoru is there waiting for him and the episode ends with the two of them smiling affectionately at each other. The events of the next episode, though, make this scene bittersweet.
* Life is full of them. The entire scene when Kouga encounters Kaoru's soul in the forest of Glen while she's on her way to the Underworld. Beaten and ready to give up, Kaoru tells him to let her go already and that she has no wish to return to the land of the living if it means her life is only going to be filled with more danger. His response to that is an ArmourPiercingSlap with a dash of GetAHoldOfYourselfMan. He then grabs her in a fierce hug and finally apologizes for failing to protect her before as well as re-kindling her will to live:
--> Kouga: Kaoru, you still have time. I want to see more of your paintings. So...Please don't lose the will to live [....] I will definitely be back. Believe and wait.
