* In "School Night Fever" (the seventh book in the series), Mary (the instructor for modern dance) falls ill and can't come to class for the next few weeks--and this is right before a big dance competition, so it looks like the titular class might not be able to compete in it. But then Julie realizes that they could still compete if they came up with a routine themselves and suggests that Lucie could create it[[note]]According to Julie, Lucie plans on becoming a choreographer when she's older and has already started writing her own ballets[[/note]]. Lucie's a little nervous, but decides to go along with it, and they talk it over with the rest of the students in their dance class--they think it's a great idea, but then Carla argues that she herself could come up with a better routine, and the class splits into two groups (one led by Carla and one led by Lucie).
** While Carla just tries finding an already choreographed routine off of the internet, Lucie comes with an original show that she titles "Love-Struck in the Forest." Everyone in Lucie's group loves it and ultimately, everyone in Carla's group leaves her to join Lucie[[note]]The people in Carla's group claimed that all Carla did was complain and criticize them--and they also felt that Carla's choreography was terrible[[/note]] and loves Lucie's routine for the competition. Mary, their instructor, ends up loving it too and even helps Lucie create the final scene for the ballet.
** In the end, the main trio and the rest of the fellow dancers are able to compete in their big dance competition and Lucie's ballet is a big hit, and they ultimately win the award for "Best Choreography."
