Nicky G: I am not a lawyer yet, but I am studying to be one. I gave this page a bit of a rewrite. I'm not happy about the "higher-degree"/"lower-degree" terminology, but it seemed like the most concise way to communicate that essentially the same basic definitions of murder are used in the US, only with different names from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
