Working Title: Lend me your ears: From YKTTW

CodeMan38: I suggested this in a thread on YKTTW, but does anyone else think Taking It Literally would be a better title for this entry? (Or some other variation thereof?)

Seanette: Wouldn't bother me to rename this one (and I wrote the initial version of the page). I agree the current title leaves a lot to be desired, but this is the one that got the most support during the YKTTW stage.

Haven: Took this out, because it is not a pun

  • In Order Of The Stick #24, Roy irritatedly says that the only way to attract more attention is to 'get a big red neon sign saying, "The heroes are here!"' The next panel has Elan doing exactly that.

Bob: Can someone tell me what the pun is in the image? I don't get it...

Blork: Mario is looking at a load of spirit levels, which he finds interesting.

TMBG's Apollo 18, thus covering a Space Whale with a squid.
fleb: Yeah, can someone tell me what the pun is in the new image? If it's "covering," there's no way it's intentional. Then any album with anything on top of anything else ever would be an example.

Civanfan: It could be that the satellite, as satellites do, is sending footage of the Space Squid enveloping (covering) the Space Whale, back to earth, thus covering the event on an album cover...I-I guess? But that's hideously contrived...

Sluimers: Yeah... errr... sorry guys. I saw the pun right away while I was I was surfing on wikipedia (Whales and Squids MIGHT be giants, they're gigantic beasts) on the album cover and thought it was funny enough to put it there. I just had to mention the spaceWhale somehow, so I contrived another visual pun. I didn't like the visual pun that I replaced it with. The new one is fun.

Ruduen: Is Hot Chick with a Sword really a visual pun? Since the image is pretty much exactly what you'd expect. I thought you'd need to have a flaming chicken or something.
