Working Title: All robots and AI\'s are fully sentient: From YKTTW

Brickman: The Megaman example was bugging me, so I changed it from an aversion to a straight use. Considering, you know, the description given was that of a straight use.

J: I'm removing the Vigil example from the Mass Effect section, since none of what the example cites was actually done by Vigil.

Some Sort Of Troper: Re: Cut list proposal. The page has a problem- it is called a Sliding Scale while stating there is absolutely no sliding what so ever and that it is, effectively, an omnipresent trope that forces everything into three categories. Well, I believe that the points about there being a Sliding Scale of Robot Intelligence with different points along the scale being used for different purposes and different sorts of depictions with some things being rare. The page has some of this already and really, that's what the example show. We don't have to cut this, we just have to edit out the broad statements about all fiction ever and focus on the recurring story-telling devices.

Madrugada Agreed. It needs to be repaired, not cut.

Earnest: I support this as well. All we need to do is make "bridge" categories between the three big ones or just flat out state that being between them is very possible and common.

Madrugada: Flat out state that these are the three most easily identified spots on the scale but that it's quite easy to make a robotAI that falls between them. That's what a "sliding scale" is, after all — the thing being measured can fall anywhere along it, not simply at preset points.
