I would say usually at Average Joe Android level because it acts like a human so it usually is as smart as one. Although, very smart examples can be Nobel-Bot level.

The intro to the article currently says "Frequently the scale is handwaved as simple differences in processing power, to the point where sometimes A Is get smarter when downloaded into faster hardware or even spontaneously emerge from a sufficiently powered computer. Though really that would just make them think faster." (emphasis mine)

That seems highly questionable. Even today we have software that is designed to run better or worse depending on the resources available. Chess software is a good example. If it has the resources available it will parse the decision tree more deeply and come up with better, more comprehensive decisions.

A.I.s need to interact with human beings in real time. It makes perfect sense that the more resources they can dedicate to thinking things through in the time available, the smarter they are.

Computing power is processing time - "just" being faster is the difference between you having to give me the answer to a problem now, or you working on the problem for a few decades first...

I think it should be mentioned that occasionally a work will involve an A.I. that can actually feel emotions and express creativity, such as The Doctor (Not that one) from Star Trek Voyager.

Or would that fall under Mechanical Life Form?

I'm actually a little surprised that emotions are nowhere to be found on the list except at the very end. It appears that there is a trope somewhere regarding emotionless robots, but it really strikes me as though someone, somewhere is missing the point: Emotions are an extremely important decision making tool. This is how we know that something is a "good idea" or a "bad idea". The "Good" and "Bad" have an emotional basis, and would not exist without emotion. It is highly doubtful that a computer would ever be able to make an abstract decision *without* emotion. Emotion is likely the very first thing a sufficiently advanced robot would develop as a vital and integral tool for solving problems. I could imagine how it would come out...

... I should write this o_o everybody tells me I need to write a story.

I think the scale shouln't be about the "conventional" levels of intelligence humans work with, instead, the scale should be about different levels of mental faculties, something like:

1- Automanton 2- Can learn tecnical things 3- Sentient 4- Innovative ... X- Emotions Y- ????

Or is there a different trope about this?

The Real Life section is one huge natter entry with some usefull details, at least IMO. Should we condense that into something more and if yes, into what? I would start with it but I feel bad just deleting most of it and english isn't my native tongue, so if someone thinks he has a solution, feel free to start. If there ar no objections I will write it in a few days.
