Ununnilium: Wonderful entry. There is nothing I can do to improve on it. Well-done.

Paul A: Thank you.

Paul A: I thought it went without saying, but apparently not: This is the trope of Rich Idiots With No Day Job who are really superheroes. Rich Idiots With No Day Job who are just rich idiots is a different trope, even if Rich Idiot With No Day Job would be an equally good title for that trope.

Sci Vo: We at YKTTW are always happy to review trope names for (among other things) potential confusingness, such as (for example) when a character who is a rich idiot with no day job wouldn't qualify as a Rich Idiot With No Day Job.

Turcano: Taken care of.

Croaker: Speaking of which, L is not a superhero. Being the world's greatest detective is his day job.

Lots42: One of the revamped Forever People claims 'Being rich enough to afford cool stuff' (my phrasing) as his superpower.

Paul A: Would that be Crimefighting with Cash, rather than Rich Idiot With No Day Job?

Vree: Thing is, as valid as the whole entry is it is at core kind of stupid to suggest that when you choose a secret identity you can make the choice to be a "rich idiot" - it's handy for a writer but, I don't know, I think this trope could still be improved. For example, there are heroes who are not rich but still pretend to be unreliable slackers or playboys so that they can sneak off to fight crime. And RIWNDJ is not just a secret identity trope, it's what the Spoiled Brat becomes when all grown up. Don't know how, but, I think there might be a need to clarify the place of this trope in the hierarchy of things eventually in the future.
