- Ron from Animerica initially started out as this, being a young ordinary student who was assistant janitor and occasionally talked to the main cast. Aside from this, he very rarely affected the plot. All that changes in Season 3 though, making him one of the two reasons for Kiyone's Heel–Face Turn and after undergoing Character Focus AND Character Development, he was eventually upgraded to a Regular Character. Hell, he even gets his own Love Interest!!
