A Random Serf: Is a MEH-crossing really necessary for this trope?
Jonny D: Probably not on reflection. The original inspiration was the Ronin and Taken examples, which were all about demonstrating that the character had no compunction in doing whatever was necessary to get what they want, no matter how bad. I thik the scope expanded a bit when I wrote it up and tried to think of more examples. I was hoping to get some better definition in YKTTW but I only got one response. No-one objected though so I went ahead with the launch. If you think you can improve the definition, feel free to make some changes.
