Trogga: Oh c'mon, I don't think it's that common.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Agreed. I'll remove the offending line, and we'll see if anyone rises to the bait. This shouldn't be controversial!

Mr Death: I have to disagree. I think it and its variations are very common, although aside from The Princess Bride, I can't think of any specific ones (probably because it's so common the line doesn't really stand out).

Caswin: It's common, but not so common that to collect examples would be an exercise in madness.

Man Without A Body: As the quotes section indicates, we have plenty of examples already here, many of them quite memorable. Unless I'm given a good reason not to, I'm going to give this article a full-on examples section, okay? Maybe with a label saying "This list is, and always will be, far from complete. These are just the only examples we could remember."

Larry D: A form I've seen in Manga translations, with explanation, is "Wash your neck!" As in preparation for execution by decapitation. That is, of course, an example of how you prepare to die, specific to Japanese culture. I suspect it gets rendered as "prepare to die" by a lot of official translations.
