  • Debatably - he is a Badass, deceived nobody, and wasn't trying to - the rules are simply vague enough that nobody (including himself) could be sure until close to the end whether or not he mystically qualified as "in". While it became significant and was one source of confusion, this detail had nothing to do with his perceived or actual abilities. Also relevant is that he was fully aware of the affair (more so in fact than some of the primaries) from the beginning and deliberately involving himself.

T Beholder: well, critter at least played it when he was given his cards by mistake. Meanwhile, Good Doctor was blissfully unaware to the end.

Haven: Took this out because Kyon is, in fact, aware of the situation and a player in it even if he's not a member of any of the "organizations". Also, I don't think he ever actually takes out anything or, um, follows this trope at all. Especially considering that he probably is the one behind everything.

  • Kyon in Haruhi Suzumiya was supposedly so average that one of the characters checked to see if he wasn't somehow abnormal. Of course, he wasn't.
