Akaso: Look at, like, half of the examples. A lot of people with ahoge aren't actually idiots. Really, we should rename the article.
I agree with Akaso. The Ahoge in many animes represents that the character has a mischievous side to them (though they're usually not the smartest character in the bunch either, so this still holds true.) Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist for example. Every time he pulls out an alchemic dummy of himself or transmutes some pipes into a speaker system, his Ahoge is shown with them.
