SAMAS: I was thinking we had this already, but I got Distracted by the Shiny.

Adam850: Yeah, I think you're right about th- Ooh, shiny!

MrInitialMan: I thought Distracted by the Shiny was when the gimmick obscures the product it was supposed to sell, when this is really the gimmick simply becoming famous in its own right, regardless about the product's success.


JET 73 L: Do people seriously remember the part of the jingle without the product name so often? I could understand commercial tunes where the part with the product name was relatively detached from the main phrase, or where there were two versions of the "catchy part" (one with the product name, and one with that section reworded) but when they can recall almost every bit of the phrase except half the section with the product title? How do you even do that?
